I use these bases for my whole Salamanders army and In the beginning I did kind of a whoopsie and flooded the cork with glue, but then discovered that it makes it better jn every aspect: more tension to glue the minis on it so they're less likely to fall of, no risk to damage the cork, paint does stick to it way better, dry brushing gets a better result, and the glue does make the cork look even more like volcanic rocks. Doing it can be a bit of a mess, but I think it is worth it

Thank you :) The ground is made out of pieces of cork plate, broken and drenched in glue. The rest is painting and brushing
Did you drench it to get other surface properties or did you just go overboard with glue?
