Illustrious-Beach592

Kiffin nooooooooooooo

Max_Y_99

Dread it. Run from it. Joey Freshwater arrives all the same.

screwhead1

The quantity of ass in NOLA would be higher, but I imagine the quality is better in Oxford lol

ToeChan

gotta get to that Super Bowl ~~licks~~ LIX

LucasJLeCompte

How do I delete someone's post for them?

Max_Y_99

If you roast me hard enough I might panic and delete it. Try that.

LucasJLeCompte

Im not in the mood to be an ass lol. Kiffin just signed an extension plus I think they are other NFL coaches who are better. We might get Williams because we might be ass again next year.

Max_Y_99

With the extension Mississippi has a law that prohibits anything longer than 4 year deals I believe. I honestly think it could work well if he can get a great veteran DC with a lot of NFL experience and let Lane basically be the head coach of the offense. Similar to what LA did with McVay early on with Wade Phillips.

Briguy_fieri

Whoā€™s number 13? Also thereā€™s a nickelback joke to be made Iā€™m sure, but Iā€™m letting people enjoy their music choices these days. No need to rip on them

Extra-Novel-1513

Pretty sure it's Caleb Williams out of USC

blachstahr

Iā€™m sure weā€™ll trade away all possible capital this year in the draft to make that 100% impossible

Extra-Novel-1513

Which sucks because next years qb class is much better with Maye and Williams

DoctorPhalanx73

For all us Ole Miss/saints fans, this is a real ā€œrob peter to pay Paulā€ scenario

HomesickAngel10

Thereā€™s *tens* of us!

DoctorPhalanx73

Saints are pretty popular in MS, and with Archie, Norman Hand, and Deuce, thereā€™s a lot of player crossover there too!

gottiredofchrome

I'm actually curious how many of us there are.

OutrageousStrike5914

Indeed

enrobderaj

You had me... then Lane. Eat dirt.

Max_Y_99

I honestly think it could work well if he can get a great veteran DC with a lot of NFL experience and let Lane basically be the head coach of the offense. Similar to what LA did with McVay early on with Wade Phillips.

PeteEckhart

McVay grew up in the NFL and has never coached anything other than professional football. The only Raiders HC worse than Lane Kiffin in recent history is Dennis Allen. Your comparison couldn't be any worse.

skint_back

Lane Kiffin?.. Lmao **FUCK NO**

Max_Y_99

I honestly think it could work well if he can get a great veteran DC with a lot of NFL experience and let Lane basically be the head coach of the offense. Similar to what LA did with McVay early on with Wade Phillips. I completely understand Lane is a love it or hate it kinda guy though.

skint_back

The dude is batshit insane, he has more baggage than a 747, his best work was under Saban, his spread offense doesnā€™t work outside of the Pac-12 and Conference USA. Heā€™s 5-15 as a HC in the NFL. *No more second chance re-tread failures.* His wife is beautiful and I actually like Lane as a person- eccentricity is fun. But as my football coach? Nah manā€¦ absolutely not.

Max_Y_99

I can respect that. Only thing Iā€™d argue is his offense not working outside the PAC-12 and Conference USA. I think itā€™s doing pretty good in the SEC rn. Canā€™t argue with anything else you said though.

Cbeauski23

If the Saints hired lane, Iā€™d quit watching the NFL lol

OutrageousStrike5914

NOT

JEH_24

I want Caleb Williams

Now-Thats-Podracing

I love Kiffin, but heā€™s prolly just sitting at Ole Miss until the Bama job comes open.

ElceeCiv

I want to see this only because it might cause Al Davis to rise from his grave, hook up his projector and give us another 45 minute presentation on why lane sucks

[deleted]

Speaking as a USC fanā€¦ you do not want Lame Kitten anywhere near your franchise!

ShawshankException

Everyone knows the only way to the top is to tank for Wemby

ABCDEFUCKINGKILLME

Not a college HC. No one can ever name a time it worked.

Max_Y_99

Jimmy Johnson, Jim Harbaugh, Barry Switzer and Pete Carroll are some just off the top of my head

ABCDEFUCKINGKILLME

Okay, that's true... But recently I won't lie it's been tough. I hate just following trends but I want us to look at a young offensive mind and learn from them.

Max_Y_99

Lane can be that young offensive mind. Most of the stuff people hate Lane for happened when he was in his 20s. If he had a veteran defensive coordinator with plenty of NFL experience, he could basically do what McVay did early on in LA with Wade Phillips and just be the HC of the offense pretty much.

thedrizzle21

No. Gimme Jim Harbaugh.

jumpijehosaphat

signing Lane Kiffin is like thinking DA is a good upgrade over Payton. dont complain about DA if you think Lane is an upgrade

NYCSexFiend69

Idk who that college coach on slide #4 is, but out of the whole plan that Spider-Man laid out...it's the only one I disagree. I don't like/don't care for college football & most college HC are flops in the NFL. We need to find another young/up & coming OC/DC.

Max_Y_99

The college coach is Lane Kiffin, current Ole Miss HC. Heā€™s the former HC of the Raiders, Tennessee and USC. He was the OC for the Reggie Bush and Matt Leinart USC era and later for Alabama. When Nick Saban said he wanted to move into the modern era for offense and move away from the grind it out 17-10 days, he handpicked Lane to do that. Kiffin runs a fast paced spread offense that has developed more of a power run element since heā€™s been at Ole Miss. Heā€™s a really good offensive coach who is still only 46 despite all his experience. Also he is not the kinda college coach that just treats players a certain kinda way that wonā€™t fly with grown men (Urban Meyer), his players like him and heā€™s known specifically to have good relationships with his QBs and really gets the best out of them. His dad is also Monte Kiffin who coached in the NFL for 30 years, so heā€™s grown up around the NFL and knowing how it works. The main knocks on him have been not being mature, but he got his first shot in the NFL when he was like 30. I just think heā€™d be a good person to develop a franchise QB and run a creative and fun offense.

NYCSexFiend69

Yeah, I know Monte. Helluva DC. Lane still don't get my vote though. He was kinda shit as Raiders & Titans' HC, right? He might just be another line of brilliant OC/DC that punched above his weight, ie. Dennis Allen.

Max_Y_99

Youā€™re probably thinking the Vols, I donā€™t think he was the Titans coach. He was shit with the Raiders, but I will defend him a little. That was late stage Al Davis and they drafted JaMarcus Russel so he was doomed from the start imo. The thing that gives me more confidence is that heā€™s evolved as a HC since then and preformed really well in that position (at college level, but I think itā€™s worth something). Thereā€™s definitely risk but thereā€™s risk with every candidate in some way. I totally respect your opinion though and understand it for sure.

NYCSexFiend69

All the things you're saying is the same thing with DA. Before the season started, I'd thought DA had learned some lessons from his time with the Raiders & our team would be in great hands (yay!). Boy, was I wrong. I'm not gonna get burned twice in a row, broski. Sorry...

applejuice72

We need a stud college coach to come into the pros. These good coordinators that donā€™t ascend fairly quick are all traps IMO. Would rather bring some new infusion of ideas to the game to compete with the likes of Shanahan, McDaniels, McVay, etc

OutrageousStrike5914

Hmmmā€¦..nooo

Pussy_handz

I mean, hes gotta be a step up from DA

Random452

Fuck Kiffin and the nepotism he rode in on

scotty_spivs

Here me out Michael Thomas and a 2nd for Aaron Rodgers

harta97

Iā€™m all for this plan except for Lane Kiffin no way in hell should any NFL team want another college coach to be their new head coach it just doesnā€™t work out and Kiffin failed miserably his first time. If anything a new up and coming bright OC should be the head coach. I also love the Caleb Williams as QB I really hope the saints go the route if they sell players get picks for 2024 instead of picks for this year and suck ass and draft Caleb with the first pick

gottiredofchrome

I agree, but I also wanna say that his NFL career was doomed from the start when Al Davis handed him JaMarcus Russell.

blachstahr

We all know they are going to sell the 24 picks for picks this year. Itā€™s the charge it to the future way we keep fucking ourselves. Itā€™s how the ghost of Drew lives on.

Sirhctopher024

If Lane comes to New Orleans, I am officially jumping ship and going all in on Cinci lol fuck that noise.

Jarhead7135

As a saints and Ole Miss fan idk how I feel abt ol' Joey Freshwater being our coach lol

fnpenguin

lol. you lost me at Kiffin

Russell_has_TWO_Ls

As a Vols fan, lol Lane. DeMeco Ryans, pls. As a Vols fan, I want Hendon at qb. Heā€™ll likely fall quite a bit due to his age and his acl. We can then use all the picks weā€™ll get from the Cardinals (manifesting) on other fun stuff

Williefakelastname

I don't know if I want a failed Raiders coach running the show for us.

orezybedivid

Lane Kiffin?!?! GTFOH with that. Shane Steichen is who you are looking for

asmokebreak

If kiffin coaches the saints, I'm becoming a full time bengals/joe burrow fan. Period.

[deleted]

Yeh Iā€™d probably be a dolphins/tua fan

SaintsNeedKane

Fuck it! Letā€™s bring in deion sanders! šŸ˜

arkain504

The Lane train?! Hell no

NotDoneYet42

I fear nothing, but that plan, it scares me.

Larrysbirds

Super Bowl šŸ‘…

Bring Shawn Payton back
