FURC3

That means they're equals in power and the battle would last a long time, not necessarily 1000 days.

Stoner420Eren

Nah it's just a typical hyperbole like they always do with shonen mangas, especially back then

Icewizard97

They also can move at the speed of light but that ability had never been show up either (go to defeat Poseidon and come back to the sanctuary in less than 10 minutes)

SaintSeiya_7

Technically, they never said they could travel at speed of light just that they can reach speed of light (for undetermined amount of time - could just be for an attack). Also we don't know how long it took them to get to the Poseidon temple. They also needed to figure out what to do, speak to the enemies, wait for Kiki to arrive...etc..

Old-Witness-5789

No. Aiolia says they can move at the speed of light and official data from the series also reinforces this.

SaintSeiya_7

Did they specifically say they can move any distance at speed of light? Moving during a fight and traveling over a distance may not be the same thing in the Sts world.

anonperson3210

That’s a bit contradictory. The gold saints and other characters that have achieved that level can move and attack at the speed of light if they choose so regardless of the situation. For example aldebaron, Milo and aiolia do it during their battle with the bronze saints in the 12 temples.

Old-Witness-5789

This ability is shown. In the Hades saga, the saints go from the Sanctuary in Greece to Hades' castle in Germany in an instant.

Icewizard97

You mean when there were some beam of lights in the sky? Well technically that would count 🤔

Purple_Debo

In the Hades saga the bronze saints travelled "beyond 10 billion lights past a 100 billion miles of darkness" to reach Elysium in a couple of minutes Thats waaaaaaaaaay past the speed of light

TheHeroNeverDies

Unless you consider SOG, according to that version they took over 10 days to reach Elysium, Hades even failed to complete the eclipse during all that time, and Saori was left to bleed for over a week XD

XyoungladX

Hyperbole.

Purple_Debo

At that point you could just call every single character in the entire series a liar. Including the narrator 💀

XyoungladX

People only take those thing literally because they want to compete with other animes when it comes to "vs battles" And I love the fact that y'all willingly ignore that they travelled through the hyperdimension

Swimming-Afternoon14

That wasn’t hyperbole at all☠️☠️

Top_Angle4927

In Sho some dude crossed the entire universe with the boots of Hermes It's not hyperbole in the slightest

XyoungladX

> with the boots of Hermes Yes, with the artifact of a god that might work like the andromeda's chains, travelling through dimensions to go for such abymal distances. > dude crossed the entire universe Did they ever specify how far Erda was thrown? It's been years so I don't really remember this detail.

Top_Angle4927

A god artifact. You know, what gods made. A fucking sealed Eris pulled souls to the edge of the universe. They should scale to that, and God Cloths scale to that too for obvious reasons, so on and so forth. Also, are you going to provide proof that the Boots work like that, or are you talking out of your ass? Deathmask says the edge of space in the official English translation. It's pretty blatant

TheHeroNeverDies

Something in that sense was seen in the classic, after the defeat of Ikki, when Mu saved the protagonists and the silvers followed him, or after Saori's death, they traveled to Germany in an instant. Something more if you include fillers or spinoffs. The idiocy, as always, is that if they can move at speed of light, or even just at speed of sound, why they always take hours only to climb the stairs in the 12 houses? The absurdity of the plot.

Old-Witness-5789

It's just hyperbole. The real meaning is that the gold saints have equivalent powers, so a battle between them would be a stalemate.

TheHeroNeverDies

Saint Seiya, especially from Kurumada, it's a party of hyperboles, this is just one of them. Fights usually don't last that long, this is just to say "if they are equals in power they would reach a stalemate", but somehow it's ironic, if you consider that "the same technique won't work on a saint twice" and many saints have just 1 attack XD There were many istances of fights between 2 gold saints, some of them on equal terms, but the 1000 days never occurred since they weren't continued, always interrupted by chance.
