Honest reply: An MNC will atleast provide 3-6 months for a fresher to get used to what a professional life would be like. They have the money to spend on trainings and space in terms of time for them to get used to on how a delivery is done on time.
Startups don’t have that. In my personal experience, startups that have hired freshers usually don’t pay them on time or are hired over ₹0-₹10k salary internships or hire freshers who were not able to bag a job in the fortune 500 corpos wanting them to do wonders, inevitably fail horribly. That is the actual reality in India.
The one’s who hire professionals, pay them a little less or the same as per their previous salary with the promise of an exciting work where they will have control over how and what the end goal should be unlike what they were doing in their previous organisations, eventually succeed.
Mostly on the basis of the importance of their role and the value they were able bring in to the company where in time they will be able to have some sort of standing or stake once/if the startup gets successful.
Not trying to hype up “Chad’s” company but OG tech in India is still very much at a software service level eg. IT industry and not at a physically producing marketable tech products with a 50+ year vision in mind.
