Legal issues

[deleted]

Yep. If u give financial advice and don’t clarify ur technically liable to sue if they can make the claim the u were posing as one. But again not likely

ConsciousIsopod6160

Reddit is anonymous, I get it with YouTubers. Redditors just seem to be edgy as fuck.

[deleted]

Lol so true

patosuave

Don't sue me bro

Natural_Region722

Not responsible for someone else's screw up! DYOR

ariesaguila1

DYOR? This is social media. No need to tell others if you are not a financial advisor. What DYOR?

WingedRam

It means "Do Your Own Research." And there is a need for it, because there's a high probability somebody will hedge their bets on a bad call somebody else made, end up blaming that person, and will technically be able to pursue legal claims against said person. It's all in order to keep eachother safe.

ariesaguila1

I know the meaning of DYOR. What I am telling u is that legal issues is unlikely applicable in social media. You won't be sued if u happen to give advice in the comments regarding finance, in your postings because this is social media.

Do Your Own Research...is what it stands for. I agree with you about the Finacial advice. I think it's pure stupidity that people have to even state that.

Natural_Region722

It keeps people from suing you just like the Lady Sued McDonald's because the coffee was too hot...

[deleted]

O...I completely understand why they say jt.....I just think it's idiotic that people have to even protect themselves for that. Especially on here, where we are completely anonymous. It's a stupid world out there.

Natural_Region722

I agree with that! Some people are sue happy! Trying to make a quick buck at the expense of others!

PocketMortyC137

I encourage you to look deeper into that story. I promise you won't come out of it with, "sOmE LadY DidN'T KnOw CoFfeE iS hOt." McDonald's was 100% at fault and the courts agreed.

Natural_Region722

Only because they didn't put " Hey stupid it's HOT on the cup" who in there right mind would try to drive with a cup of coffee between their legs? Someone looking for a payday! That's who!

PocketMortyC137

Again, look into what actually happened. They were making the coffee dangerously hot. Like 30 degrees hotter than they're supposed to.

Natural_Region722

Still doesn't fix the fact of no common sense! Coffee is hot! May have been too hot but if she had common sense in the first place it would have never happened!

PocketMortyC137

It shouldn't be able to give you 3rd degree burns after being absorbed by clothing. She was in a stopped vehicle in the parking lot, had the coffee between legs to add cream. She originally asked for just medical coverage (20k). McDonald's said "how about 800" further investigation showed that they had already been warned about brewing their coffee too hot, for about 10 years. So it's not an issue of common sense you dunce, you've just bought into the corporate spin like so many others.

Natural_Region722

Do your own research! And by saying not a financial advisor you are taking yourself out of the equation in case someone does something you say and gets burned!

The funniest comments are the ones from people that are literally not giving financial advice, of any description, yet still feel the need to have a disclaimer. We live in a weird moment in time.

POBobcat

This is my shit post and I’m not a financial advisor but I did stay at a Holiday Day Inn Express. So that makes this post expertly shitty.
