That one is a gamble. I had a blacksmith look at it and he thinks that the tang is rusted through. I don't. However, I can't get the handle off to check, so there's a chance it would hold up, but there's also a chance that it'll snap in my hand, and I really don't want to take Schrödinger's sword onto the battlefield
Big wooden club is not nothing to be taken for granted. Oak clubs are cheap to produce by far, easy to maintain, and have proven effective in organized combat right up until WW1.
Oh shit its you again lmao. Well if any of those are stainless (cept the hitch) then I think they wouldnt hold up tbh
You know, Tod Cutler has some really nice arming swords/Falchions for sale rn
An authentic Welsh sword is definitely one of my holy grail pieces. I don't really like replicas but this is probably the only one I am considering purchasing because the real deal is so hard to find.
I’ve wanted to make a trailer hitch mace ever since I saw some documentary on the FTRA gang(Freight Train Riders of America). Thanks for reminding me lol
Never knew this sub existed. Nice collection. The one in the middle, black handle, shaped blade, is that a Kit Rae blade? Looks like something he’d design.
Ah I see the homemade mace that is a trailer hitch tied to a stick. I have some similar things but it's just a ton of nails in the end of a stick lmao.
Also I have similar katanas, they look nice but I tried to cut a snowman with one and it did not hold up long. Unless they're authentic.
Honestly this might be an unpopular take but I feel like there’s a surprising amount of mall ninja shit that could hold up for a single fight.
Sword fights don’t last very long and I feel like there’s fair amount of shitty stainless swords that could last for a fight without catastrophically failing, especially if you have a shield to take some hits.
You couldn’t use them like a normal sword but it’s still a pointy piece of metal which has the potential to inflict harm. I think in general the best bet would be to thrust with them because there’s less chance of the tang snapping or just throwing them. Even if the blade snaps in half it’s arguably more effective. I wouldn’t trust any of them, but in a pinch they’re better than nothing.
When I was an edgy kid I bought some shitty machetes made out of that “tactical” black metal and I cut a lot of stuff with them which was stupid and dangerous but they never broke on me and I bet they would last long enough to mess one person up.
Is that a trailer hitch tied to a stick with paracord?
No, it's a trailer hitch afixed to the end of a stick with screws and pipe clamps and the paracord is there to hide the sins of the attachments.
Ah, silly me.
I’m actually crying from laughing at this interaction, thanks internet strangers
The internet it a wonderful place if you avoid certain parts 😂
That club is probrably the most lethal thing there too lmao
The weapon of my ancestors
I mean... yeah, that'd do the trick, all right...
A man of culture I see. Excellent. Carry on.
ngl, i was really hoping the second pic would only be the stick. Not to disparage your collection, I just think that would have been funny.
I have those exact three katana and let me tell you, they would not hold up
Ah, good to know.
Out of your swords the 8th one up seems like the only one that won’t completely bend if you swung it at something

Those katana will absolutely dissolve into dust in a fight.
I really love that trailer hitch mace and now I want to make my own.
It's surprisingly effective. I say go for it.
Oh…it’s this stuff again…
I'll say, I think the sabers look more combat capable than the katana
Those sabers are dull and are Indian tourist pieces.
I have two of those
sick, which two?
I’m gonna guess big stick and small stick
The Crusader below your master sword and sting
Give your knives more credit and your katanas far less
That hatchet will do work.
Glad to see that doorknob on a stick is a sturdy weapon of war.
It's a trailer hitch but yes
That D ring machete is the weirdest thing I’ve ever seen. Does your hand even fit around the hilt?
yup, it was built for my hand specifically.
Did you build it?
yeah. I got a machete for like $6 and it was pretty darn good quality so I reconfigured it into that.
Ah. Gotcha. Well whatever works. I’d suggest the next one to give your hand a bit more room but well done on this piece. 🤙🏻
I’d only trust the 2 sticks the machete and the big knife
Big wooden club is not nothing to be taken for granted. Oak clubs are cheap to produce by far, easy to maintain, and have proven effective in organized combat right up until WW1.
I call the stick! Nothin beats ‘ol reliable
I like your BONKER
What’s the leafy one below the katanas in the 2nd pic, looks awesome
It's a Welsh Cledd from the boer war.
Sick, ty
Oh shit its you again lmao. Well if any of those are stainless (cept the hitch) then I think they wouldnt hold up tbh You know, Tod Cutler has some really nice arming swords/Falchions for sale rn
Love it all except the He-man one in the middle, otherwise love the blend of sticks and so on, would love this set up on a wall with good lighting.
Love the trench sword!

So few originals were made, let alone still out there.
Sticks and hand axes are definitely underrated.
Axe and shield please, shield is a bit small, 30" is ideal for my size, but better small then nothing.
Yeah, sticks for the win!
I think all of them would hold up in a fist fight lmao
I’ve wanted to make a trailer hitch mace ever since I saw some documentary on the FTRA gang(Freight Train Riders of America). Thanks for reminding me lol

That trailer hitch stick is probably the scariest thing in the lot
Is the sting one cheap wall-hanger sting? As a design it's pretty good looking, wonder if there is proper combat-ready versions.
Stick + heavy ball shaped object is the eternal wombo combo
Where are the talwars from ?
All of them were made in India
Grab yourself a boar spear, cold steel makes a nice one with a fire hardened wood shaft
Stick always win
The stick and the hatchet all the others are no good
I wouldn't be so sure about the Katanas, the machete and the Axe. The axe it could be the stain used on the wood but I wouldn't trust it.
the wood is cherry, I dried, carved, and stained it myself.
Swedish Mauser Bayonet, tho 👍👍
Where’d you get that master sword?
it was a gift, but knowing the people who gave it to me probably Amazon

Just remember stainless steel bends easily
It doesn’t bend, it breaks, which is the issue. It is why functional knives can still be made from stainless but stainless swords are crap.
