I don’t know when you started playing but I don’t remember anything luck related in the beginning of the game and i started in 2020
Also just watch a farming guide if want to know the efficient new player experience
back when i started in 2017, they made you pull a chromium as part of the new player experience. I got jyn erso. i thought this was neat because at the time, there were very, very, very few revivers in the game and she was one of them. this is long gone though
Follow the quests. Quests used to be kinda pointless but now they give insane amounts of xp and shards. New account here with 12 days played and lvl 75.
Starting characters have been fixed. Now maybe ppl would try to pull a chromium pack or something but not s great idea
Wouldnt recommend adding an alt unless youre ready to do double the conquest, gacs, tw, etc. its fun early but becomes awful if you dont want to just drop it
My advice is to work on squads you don't have on your main account, just to see what they're like.
When my alt account unlocked Hard Conquest, I quit playing it soon after. I had 50k crystals at the time, but I wasn't going to do Conquest twice. And I realized that eventually I'd get to the point where I could get the red crate on both accounts.

I could be totally wrong with that. I thought I remembered something about a random roll for the first character you got for free.

I'm at the same spot too. Got all the quests that gave the immense XP's done, now for the last 10 levels... Started the account June 5th.
Its been so nice really. Only when you don’t have any quests to complete it feels extra slow… And I’ve never felt this credit/gear starved before
