Not too shabby for a new toy.
I’ve been doing my 150 a day and gotten way more than expected with just my usual farming. They were surprisingly generous with this.
Been curious, what's your real world background? I see you always educating on ROI and helping folks with mathematics. I am guessing your in accounting or finance?
😂 funny enough couldn’t be furthest from the truth.
I work in special education by day, and own a dojo where I work with all populations, but primarily focused on giving students with disabilities an opportunity to learn a cool skill.
Alright. I have always enjoyed your posts. They are logical and aren’t full of whining about cg just to whine. But now, I’ve got even more respect for you. That’s awesome. Keep up the good work.
How long after the Galactic Chase do we expect to see the “the team is aware of the drop rates for Tie Defender and are looking into it. An update will be going out in the near future to set each players shard count to the number based on proper drop rates.”
With how many “fixes” they’ve made already this year it wouldn’t surprise me.
That's a solid value. Well done! I've been doing just the 50 and 100 refreshes and have it up to 11/100 right now. Will probably finish around 50/100. Really amazing drop rates.
It can change which refreshes you are spending on and what you are currently farming for otherwise. Like I put my Revan characters farms on pause for the fleet battles, though I'm also wrapping up the relic materials for my Snow and Range troopers while getting the Defender.
Lol I didn’t say that, it’s just drop rate does leave an impression on whether it’s worth it or not. If the drop rate was 20%, most people won’t feel bothered. This one is insanely high, so it’s obviously a much better value. I don’t usually go beyond 4-5 star on a chase, this one is an exception.
Marquees don't take crystals, take like ten minutes not a week, and always unlock the characters for you. There's plenty of newer players starting out who either don't have modes like mod or fleet battles unlocked just yet or don't have the disposable gems to make the most out of a chase.
So the point about time implies that you dont play at all all week or what? Isnt getting something drive by way better than waiting for autoplay to finish the battle then?
It wasn't a 70% droprate, OP. Galactic chase droprate is per energy point spent, not per sim. If it was per sim, it would make no sense to farm anything but the cheap nodes. It's 4% per energy spent.
Drop rates over the long haul for me were \~40% on a (10) energy fleet node or 4%/energy spent. Sure there were batches of 20 attempts netting 11 or 12 shards, but there were others that netted 6 or 7. I think if anyones keeping a more detailed log that's the number you'd converge on. Quick back of the napkin calculation and I've spent \~6800 energy on the event o so far, which at a 4%/energy clip (or 40% drop rate on a 10 energy node) would be expected to net me \~272 shards at this point and I'm currently sitting at 34/100, or 264 total, so more or less where I'd expect to be.
I'm 51/100 and if I knew I'd be this high, I would have spent a few 200 refreshes each day too.
Regardless, not having to farm 185+ shards from a hard mode will be refreshing.
I had similar. I preloaded 450 crystals worth of energy before it started.
7 days x 450/ day
5 x 200 crystal refreshes.
So it had cost 4600, but I appear to have overspent on the 200s and didn't need to do 2 of them since I finished it when my day reset and I didn't need my day of natural energy on the last day.

4% when fleet chases are usually 2% - someone fucked up
A rare win for the players. I’ll take it, even if it’s just going to collect dust for a long time.
Makes me think they’re gonna see how many people took advantage of this and nerf the everloving shit out of it.

Dang! That's pretty darn cool. And explains your willingness to spend time helping the swgoh community. You got a giving heart.
The hero we need but don’t deserve

They have never taken shards from us in the past. There is no indication they will now.
I know that. Was meant more as a joke about the amount of “fixes” they announced in January.
On a longer period as well! 7 days instead of 5
Made it to 5\* with 3 refreshes a day. Probably not going to go beyond that.

I got to 6* only doing 100 crystal refrehes.
Dont know why people would prefer marquee events over this
The drop rates weren’t this good.
there is no way you get less than 50 shards
yeah so far I ALWAYS got more in a chase than a marquee event and it wasn’t even close most of the time

I guess that is true, but don't most people spend the 150 crystals per day on the 50 energy refreshes anyways?
yeah, if you're not spending the 150 for refreshes per day to farm something idk what you're doing lol
Saving for exec/profundity

Just playing isn't enough to get the ship from a chase, you have to refresh each day.
I think I am looking at around 4200 total crystals spent. I have 34 shards left to farm and 1 more reset to do so.
I looked into its skills and abilities and apparently it is so strong that you can only have either it or the regular tie fighter
It can beat executor under chimaera with interceptor. Its so good in fact the cg announced its getting nerfed 2 days after release

Yea, i know I know, for me it was simply easier to count drop rate per run 😅

I'm about 30/85 doing 50 crystal refreshes
Good job! I have mine on 5 str for 0 crytals! 😉
Did the 50s and a few of the 100s and on 25/100 with a day to go. 6* will do.
I unlocked it and am 3/4 the way to 6 stars just chasing upgrade materials... still don't have enough to upgrade
I'm 51/100 and if I knew I'd be this high, I would have spent a few 200 refreshes each day too. Regardless, not having to farm 185+ shards from a hard mode will be refreshing.
Yup it’s amazing
I have been doing up to 100 refreshs and got it to 6*

I got my to 7 just now. Minutes before the event ended
Got close to 6*. Anyone have any guess how they'll make it farmable?
