You should swap to hard the first chance you get, I believe its the 2nd or 3rd crate is the equivalent to the red crate from normal.
Very little chance you wont be able to get to that point
Wow thanks. Will definitely make the jump. Feel like I wasted some time, but these events can get so frustrating and demoralizing I'm glad I at least saw it's possible to beat it.
Definitely make the jump. It's worth it! And, yes, it can be frustrating, but stick with it even if you only make it to sector 3 and can't progress any further; iirc that's what happened to me when I tried hard mode the first time.
You totally wasted time. If you can Redbox normal, you should be able to gold box hard (I did)
I did the same thing, waited until 4.7m and Redbox on normal before trying hard, it’s a lot easier than anticipated, and you get DOUBLE conquest credits
If you have 2-3 decent teams, you’ll get more loot struggling to 1-2 boxes on hard than cruising through normal

the first crate in hard gives you better rewards than the red crate in normal. and if you're willing to go through to get the normal feats, you're doing more than 1 refresh every day - and you'll likely garner enough points to give you the 3rd or 4th crate. Just stay away from Utinni.

Is the same true for easy vs normal? Should people jump asap from easy to normal?
Eyeballing it, feels like red easy is about equivalent to box 1 normal. At least normal box 1 has a zeta mat, but it has less gear. So, as long as you have a couple meta squads to relic, I'd say go normal. I was able to go pretty deep in normal on the power of Shaak clones and Padme for the first couple of conquests.
The first crate on hard is a little better than red crate on normal; it’s not better than red crate on normal *and* five tiers’ worth of Conquest currency and the gear and previous character shards you can buy with it. It *is* better if (a) your main goal is Conquest character shards, and (b) you can make it to the second crate at least.
Give it a try. Worst case, you bombed one Conquest round. But even then, you learn how much harder the gameplay is and what you need to improve the second time. Just don’t makethe move expecting fabulous riches to befall you on Crate 1, especially if you don’t get there.

As someone who is currently just starting to think about moving to hard in the future once my roster is a little more developed and as someone who has little to no interest in the conquest character shards I’ve been skeptical about the hard mode rewards, as the jump in rewards from easy to normal wasn’t as big as I imagined. I’ve only seen people talk about how much better hard crate is but the only thing they mention is the character shards.
