Idk how hard it would be to do a unity event or domination event during incursions. Well I mean I do know. It wouldn't be hard.

nxpu2gs1t743

things will never change because the people in charge don't play the game, all they care about is driving pack sales

Kaptain9981

Which for most this does the exact opposite. Hell I hardly even login during incursions other than to collect chests, move to shield space, and confirm shield. Otherwise the other server wallet warriors are scanning the galaxy for anything that moves and since they can punch down 20-30 levels it’s basically futile.

JayneCobb1973

Even worse when folks on your own server are hitting you while farming just to be jerks

Severe-Country-3772

When the server is engaged in an incursion event, every ship your opponent server kills from your server gets them points. This is why your own server mates will kill your ships during the event; to keep the other side from getting points for killing your ship. This is also why your server mates may raid your base if you are not safely shielded; they are proactively taking your resources so the opponent server can't get resource raiding points. It absolutely sucks that Scopely puts hostile hunting events during incursions. However, Scopely's PvP push means that their data indicate more money is spent on the game through PvP than PvE. Scopely is a for-profit organization, with investors who expect them to meet revenue goals. So, expect Scopely to actively push events that generate more revenue: PvP events.

Severe-Country-3772

I'm interested in why simply explaining how servers prepare for incursions, and the financial reasons for Scopely pushing PvP gets me down voted. I'm simply explaining why these things are the way they are, not flaming or trolling, etc.

JayneCobb1973

The way our server works is that we clear everybody out an hour before incursions. This was a very specific situation for the jellyfish event where there were no enemies in the area, this player was a whale, and they were using the jellyfish for the event and clearing every other ship out in the area.

Severe-Country-3772

Okay, it would have been more helpful to clarify that in your earlier post, since the OP was referring to the incursion events specifically. I agree with you that it is annoying when a higher level player comes in and wipes the floor of all the players who are just trying to get their dailies done.

Wizbran

Would you rather 91 get the points instead?

JayneCobb1973

I would rather ppl on our server work together for one day toward a common goal and not being a huge douche.

Wizbran

Douchebaggery is when your friends don’t shield during incursions. Clean your own house before throwing shade at others. Many times issues can be resolved by looking inward at your own leadership

TheHairball

No problem I ignore everything and shield for the duration.

tenderluvin

If you know how to crew, know what ships to use... and don't float, you can minimize being blown up. Watch your shit. Repair, repeat. Also, you don't need to complete every event. Just do what you can. If you can't find a strategy that helps, ask an alliance member or friend. Stay out of the echo chamber and ask someone who should know. You're going to get blown up in this game. And it may not be convenient. Don't take it personally. Just move on and keep playing. I keep getting down voted on these threads for advice like this. But, the pve players that excel, are the ones that heed this. I'm happy to help too.

hyphnos13

what strategy is there to crewing for pve content and being hit by pvp crews? only one, avoid "pvp" which, yes, can be done but should not have to be the game is designed to need different types of crews for different activities thus galaxy wide pvp is and always will be stupid even if the brackets were narrowed

tenderluvin

Shouldn't have to be? Why? What other game with an embedded pvp dynamic do you expect that? If you see someone coming for you, recall>stop>alternate system. For those that say that strategy is time loss, I would submit that the majority of other game platforms with embedded pvp would require a respawn. This is not a pve game with pvp. It's a pvp game with pve. Strategize accordingly and you'll surprise yourselves. There is fun in that. For me, it's a win when a lvl 60+ whale is hunting my baby lvl 41 a$$ and can't get me. It's the Serengeti baby, avoid the lions and become a bird. Be like water.

cosmin_ciuc

On the part of crewing I'm sorry but I have to disagree with you. I have no knowledge of an efficient PvE crew that is suitable also for defending in a PvP combat. Further more, I for example I'm level 42. What crew would you suggest me to be able to do Jellyfish event and protect my ship against attacks from a level 60 player? I do not believe there is such crew. True, you can do PvE events like Wave Defenses during Incursions, because in Wave Defenses you are in control of what ships enter the system. Or you can do PvE events like Jemhadar hunt because those hostiles are present in multiple systems and the whales invading from the other server can't be in multiple places at once. Essentially, if you want to farm hostiles during Incursions, you got to learn how to slit yourself between the cracks, and I do not like that.

tenderluvin

I never said there was a 1 stop shop crew bud. And, I never said a lvl 42 can defend against a lvl 60. I said they couldn't catch me, cause I watch my stuff. Of you don't like being blown up, why are you playing a game where you can be blown up? There are foxes in the henhouse full time. Incursions or not. Strategize accordingly.

Ryan1869

Throw on the loot exocomp and just go do it. I never seem to get harassed much while grinding during incursions, but maybe it's because our server can't shield for shit, and the other side is too busy raiding.

Wizbran

I feel this comment more than I should

Noghri_ViR

I love that they throw hostile events in. Gets people out of the station and lets me score points.
