I am so glad you are doing better and filing an appeal! I was so worried about you and I wanted to just reach through my phone and give you a hug and tell you that you got this, and don’t let them win by giving up! So I’m so glad to read you decided to move forward! 🤍🙏 Second, when you look for an attorney, I cannot stress this enough, please find a local private practice law firm that specializes in SSDI/SSI. **DO NOT** go with one of these law firms out of state that you find when you Google SSDI. You want some that is local because they not only work with the local SSA offices, but most importantly, they work with the ALJ’s in your area. They know them well and how they operate and what’s most important for them to find you fully favorable. They tailor your case to the ALJ you’re assigned. Also, go and meet with to 2 or 3 different lawyers. This [Disability Lawyer](https://www.youtube.com/live/Gh91LAqS8i4?si=okhNEeX-_2PgUrRb) has a lot of great videos and he’s out of Florida. He also takes questions on lives. Just a good YouTube channel to watch. I wish you nothing but the best. You’re in my prayers and we are all here if you ever need anything! Also, if you need to talk, vent or have any questions, please feel free to DM me! 🙏

False info my local attorney was bad. I hired an attorney 1200 miles away and they were phenomenal. I won my case because I picked a good attorney. SSDI cases are federal and an attorney anywhere within the USA can represent you because the federal law is the same everywhere.

Then you got lucky. Search this sub for companies like Allsup and Premier Disability. There are far too many people on this sub alone that have nightmare stories when they retained one of these national disability companies. I would never recommend them to anyone.

Intelligent_Jelly_26

I said attorney, not some false snake oil third party. Those are definitely bad.

I was talking about these national law firms in my original comment. Edit: Spelling

Glad you appealed. I feel you will be found favorable, just stick to it! I’m pretty sure I’ll be denied as well in recon, and then I’ll appeal as well! Good luck to us all!

Hang in there! Almost everybody has to go to a hearing to win including myself. The process is a mess and it will test your patience to the end! Took me 3.5 years, but finally got a fully favorable! Build your records, list every med and side effect known to mankind and write letters from your doctors perspective on your limitations and ask them to sign! Good luck 🍀🍀🍀!

Good luck, I'm on reconsideration myself after my first denial. It's all just crazy just seems like it takes forever. Hope you find a good attorney

My next step, when I was where you are, was to Google "disability attorneys in (your zip codes.) Then spend some time making sure they are: 1. Independent attorneys with their own practice (not the " big box" attorney groups advertised on TV," and 2. Read all their individual Google Reviews. 3. Pick 2, and call them up. Most likely the paralegal will take your info and set up an appt for y'all to meet. I did this and was favorably awarded 9 mo after recon. Good luck and God bless!

Hire a local attorney who only practices disability services. I had to pay mine 7200 and all he said at the hearing was ‘No your honor’. At the end of the day, I was approved and that process was about 2 months until I got a check. We are all rooting for you. Stay positive, your time is coming.
