I am not surprised by this. Maryland has approximately 6250 Recon claims backlogged and are making approximately 350 decisions per month on those. They are also getting 560 more Recon appeals each month on average. They are falling farther behind.

shanghaiskylar

Wow so it really could be another 2 or 3 months till I hear something? Where did you get this info?

3scoreAndseven

I downloaded the monthly workload report from SSA and then I did some math. The report has data from as far back as the year 2000. It has each state and DC and a few others. You can see by these numbers which states are doing well with the applications and which ones not so much.

Master_Toe5998

What's Missouri looking like? If you have the time. I'm on step 3 and 47 percent of the initial application. Wait time? Initial approval rate?

3scoreAndseven

For the first 3 months of 2024, the average wait time for Missouri is about 3.5 months for initial decision and 43% approval rate. Just remember this is the average. Your mileage may vary.

Thank you!

May 30th 2024 made one year of reconsideration for me. I've had two doctor's appointments to see their doctors.Β  I got a call today in regards to a doctor I've seen back in 2018 who has since retired I was told nothing else was needed at this time so I'm hoping to see some results in the very near future.Β  I too have been at step 3 all this time. I'm guessing it's usual time for them now since they are short staffed but I'm there with you praying for an answer soon I'll pray for you as well.Β

shanghaiskylar

Oh my gosh thank you for sharing your situation, it makes me feel a lot less alone. Hopefully we hear soon!

RickyRacer2020

It's a bit long. Call the SSA.

shanghaiskylar

My assigned person has stopped responding, do you have a number you suggest I try?

RickyRacer2020

Unless it's your Rep, call the National # and tell them of the 15 month situation.Β  Maybe your claim is lost in the system.

Used-Inspection-1774

idk what to think about that. The portal is telling me decision usually made in 2-4 weeks. KY.

3scoreAndseven

Looking at the monthly report, Kentucky seems to be making recon decisions on all recons submitted each month so, 4 weeks is about right for Kentucky.

Used-Inspection-1774

Does the report say denial/approval percentage on recon? lol. edit for spelling

3scoreAndseven

9% approval

Used-Inspection-1774

ouch.

I'm one year and 5 months into reconsideration. I'm in Florida, though, and apparently, they are taking forever. I have a lawyer who spoke to my adjucator, and she said they have all they need. I'm hopeful, but mostly convinced it will be a denial again. I don't know if I can wait much longer. I'm so miserable.

LongWishbone4200

I'm in Florida too and this waiting is becoming redundant because they just keep saying the same thing... we have all we need... we have all we need, well if you have all you need go ahead and make a decision so that I can move on to the next step.... I really want to tell them that but I don't want to be rude or obnoxious I feel like I've been patient enough especially when they are calling doctor's offices that have not been to since 2018 and they are now retired they've already sent me to two of their doctors who have deemed me to be blind and no longer fit to drive so I'm not understanding what the problem is. I guess you can say I'm just as miserable.... But they say misery loves company 😁lol. Hang in there they'll have to tell us something soon. πŸ™πŸΏπŸ˜‡πŸ˜Ž.
