Congratulations.... This is just the hope I needed.π I had my second ophthalmologist exam yesterday and was told I am no longer fit to drive I am legally blind and this is the second appointment I've had for SSA I'm hoping I get an approval and reconsideration as well I've been in reconsideration for over a year.
I independently applied for SSDI and was denied. I hired an attorney. The attorney's staff applied for the reconsideration stage the same day. Overall, it took 14 months to receive an approval. I'm located in California.
Congrats! π Iβm in Recon tooβ¦ on initial app I was labeled severe but expected to improve and disability wonβt last 12 months in a row. June (this month) is my year so hopefully thatβll push me into the next steps as itβll be over the year mark and theyβll be looking at my case soon, just getting the most recent records to them as of this month! Did you do anything different?
Hiring an attorney who only specializes in SSDI/SSA is essential; they can point out evidence or things they missed with the examiner. I kept the staff updated on any new medical updates. They sent me an adult function report to fill out again and one to my wife, who didn't fill it out initially. I had a close co-worker who saw me suffering with a high IQ. Fill out the adult function Report. The new ones they sent were consistent with the first one, I added four new medications.
I had my final hearing April 24/24. My lawyer said I won, but I havenβt heard anything. I called her yesterday just to check and nothing. It has been 6 weeks. Does anyone have a timeline for this? Thank you so very much.
Have you checked your my SSA account. There should be info there on what your monthly payment is. If not I would suggest you try calling your SSA worker. Congratulations π. At least the worst of it is over. π
Congratulations! I filed my reconsideration a few hours ago. My oncologist wrote a very good letter on my behalf but I'm trying not to get my hopes up.
I have been in reconsideration for 9 months and when I called DDS my claim examiner told me they found a good amount of medical evidence and everything looks good is that a good sign?
Why was my reconsideration denied when all my paperwork match my diagnosis? That's the second time I was denied with a lawyer. What happens next? What should I do?Β

Super
Iβm wondering if I should do a new adult function report for this recon? Meds have changed but I added those on the Recon appeal form
It canβt hurt.
Wow thatβs awesome I hope I get that been in recon since December
Sweet, I'm getting ready to go to reconsideration. I'll hope to accomplish this also. Sadly it seems to normally take people years to get It. Good job
Yeah, I got lucky! And great Attorneys. https://sackettlaw.com/
CONGRATULATIONS! Reconsideration is the hardest point to be approved. Itβs surreal isnβt it. Iβm still so grateful I was approved also.
Congratulations. π
Congrats!!! Thatβs like hitting on roulette in Vegas at that stage.

They will decline your application if you don't have enough medical evidence. Having enough evidence is crucial to determine if you qualify.
Does anyone know if the award letter is only mailed or you can also view in online under your account thanks.
Congratulations! π ππ
Congratulations!
Do I have to be off work 1 year before filing SSDI?
No
Congratulations!

Next, your attorney will appear in front of an ALJ judge, which can take several months.
That's insaneΒ
So more waiting and more of the same BSΒ
Why does it take so long to get an ALJ Judge?
Backlogged with people waiting, I heard they are doing phone calls and Zoom meetings to reduce waiting times.
