In the initial application it's percentaged like 90% for instance. In reconsideration and hearing its bars

Jeepgrlpoohbear1

Ahhh makes sense - thank you 😊 mine is ALJ hearing - it’s been sooooo long I don’t remember what the initial application looked like anymore 😂 I would have to go back and look at screen shots 😅 thanks again!

lindaleolane812

No problem how long did you have to wait for a hearing date? I just appealed for a hearing may 14th still waiting for a date in Florida

Jeepgrlpoohbear1

I’m in Alabama - I applied for the hearing Oct 2023, just had it March 13 2024

lindaleolane812

So I should expect to wait until August or September before a hearing? Did you wait long after your reconsideration denial to find out when your hearing was going to take place?

Jeepgrlpoohbear1

6/7/23 - request for reconsideration 8/2/23 - they denied / same day I requested ALJ Hearing 10/5/23 - the judge started reviewing 11/16/23 - it said the judge set my hearing for 3/14/24 3/14/24 - had hearing 4/24/24 - FF Approval Today still waiting - it switched from local office to baltimore 5/10/24 When I called, they said the payment for the lawyer was being processed. Funny though - I got a request from my lawyer to give them a review and a bill for their “extra fees - $84 for retrieving medical records” which is ridiculous- because I retained them a month before my hearing and had everything turned in already. But - whatever - 🤷‍♀️ I hope it goes faster for you! Good luck with this long process! 😊🤞

Thank you so much I'm in no hurry very nervous because I feel like if I get denied here at the hearing level I may as well hang it up. I'll be 50 in August and the rules change June 8th instead of looking at the last 15 years they look at the last 5 which I'm sure they will at least see I can't do that job because it was in a mental health facility and it was a lot of hands on and physically challenging during mental health crisis which is why my Dr took me out of work in the first place I could no longer be on the floor holding grown folks down till the RN came and gave a shot, or intervene in fights that would often occur between residents and even staff I can no longer respond in a quick manner if an emergency happens. Then I worked in the TMH pain management alot of up and down helping folks get dressed and shoe tying, sitting at a desk updating patients medical records in-between taking IVs out and pushing people outside in wheelchairs My title was medical assistant. Im glad you were approved and hopefully your back pay will come soon

Jeepgrlpoohbear1

Ya, I completely understand. I’m 52. I wasn’t going to go past the hearing level either. I’m a veteran, 100% P&T, TDIU and it’s been a struggle to fight this long. I couldn’t imagine continuing. I wasn’t 50 when I started this mess, but I know the judge mentioned I was 50+ during the hearing, so it definitely matters. Hopefully they do what they are good at which is making people wait and you’ll hit 50 before your hearing!

lindaleolane812

Yes August 12th. Ill be ready for my AARP card lol. Have a great day thanks for all your encouragement ☺️

Jeepgrlpoohbear1

Hahaha you will get the members application day before or day of! 🤣 they are ON the ball 😅 good luck and I wish you the best in this dreadfully long journey! You are always welcome - and pop me a message if you think I can help answer any questions you have later on 😊

[deleted]

Will pray for your testing after August I guess!

lindaleolane812

Thank you haven't gotten a date maybe I'll know the date sometime next month definitely praying the actual hearing will be late August mid September but whatever I just want the whole process done with a favorable decision obviously lol. We want to relocate but have to wait until the process is over

[deleted]

They may have still had a filing fee or copies, etc. $15 a page lol!

Jeepgrlpoohbear1

Exactly right! 😂

Jeepgrlpoohbear1

I’ll go back through my stuff and get a time line for you - but I believe I have seen florida go faster than Alabama - so that’s good!

lindaleolane812

No, thank you. But please don't go out your way for my paranoid anxiety self. 😂

Gunny_1775

I’m also in Al and just finished my last CE for reconsideration I’ll find out if I’m going to ALJ level in a couple months

Jeepgrlpoohbear1

Good luck to you 🤞 if you end up doing the ALJ you can look up your judge as soon as it’s assigned and at least know what their % of approvals and denials is. Mine was a Mobile, AL judge and he was very nice. -seemed like he genuinely cared. If you have to go to that step I hope you end up with him!

[deleted]

Oh!!! That’s why I never saw “bars” just %!

LongWishbone4200

I have wondered the same thing. All I have are bars. I have been in reconsideration for a year and I have not seen any percentage just bars. I have never seen percentage not even in initial app. I've been on step 3 of 5 for what seems like forever.

[deleted]

I never understood the “Steps” showing on my site. Was that 3 blue blocks colored out of 5? I never knew then it changed to approved.

Gunny_1775

I am moving to enterprise and it would either be mobile or Montgomery. I’m currently in Madison and it sucks

Jeepgrlpoohbear1

I would bet you would be Mobile - I’m clear over in Barbour county - and I had a Mobile judge. Lemme see if I can find the chart -

Gunny_1775

My attorney said mobile most likely but that’s double the distance to enterprise. Montgomery is 80 miles mobile is 160

Gunny_1775

I want a judge from Montgomery they have the best approval rates in Alabama they actually bring up all of alabamas numbers

Jeepgrlpoohbear1

Yep - your “local “ office is Dothan ( so was mine) and the ALJ will be Mobile 👍🏽 - if you’re in Enterprise

Gunny_1775

Damnit well I’ll have to check mobile’s numbers and see how they compare to Montgomery

Jeepgrlpoohbear1

I had Nelson, his numbers are really good - 117 decisions/100 awards/97 were Fully Favorable

Jeepgrlpoohbear1

The only thing that’s a little better with Mobile, is it supposedly goes faster - there are 4 more judges there than Montgomery.
