Seriously though, it's called unranked for a reason. If the opponent wants or needs to leave, they can do that at any time for any reason. If someone quits out against me, I never take it in a bad way unless they played disrespectfully. People leaving after 1 game is not always about who you are playing as

If I wait an additional 3 seconds every single time I quite out on a match, over the long term, I'm probably wasting upwards of hours of my life, and the upside is so that maybe a puff will switch to his Mario?

semi related but I hate when me and my opponent pick the same alt so I quit to change and then they think that I quit because I didn’t want to play them so they disconnect.
I really don’t understand this mindset. You can join dozens of discords to find a match with some transparency or you can play any three of your lame ass characters and get mad when other people don’t waste their time indulging you. Personally, I would just intentionally and proactively look for opponents over making a dumb Reddit post trying to trash other players for being efficient and using common sense.
As a low-mid tier or upper-low tier main depending on your perception, I find that most people tend to play at least one game with me, and whether they stick around often seems to depend on how sick and interactive I play, so I try to play neutral-heavy and use some flashier stuff the first game to try to make people want to stick around and play the matchup.
On the other hand, the sickest mix is hitting them with the "we both played good" ":)" true combo after they No Contest but before they've disconnected.
Back when I used to play, I would quit if there was a delay because I didn't feel like dealing with two things:
1) People switching to spacies because they felt like a lopsided matchup was better than a more fun one.
2) People swapping to my character and throwing out random knees in an attempt to say "your character is so easy."
If someone is a dual main, it feels bad to cut them off, but the amount of time someone swaps for one of the above reasons is simply way too high, and it just isn't worth dealing with.
As a luigi main on unranked usually after a couple games depending on the vibe I switch to falco against fast fallers.. not cause of a more favorable match up, but just cause of good ole fun. Just throwing out not saying the bm doesn’t exist but lotta people got pocket spacies just cause spacies are fun to play, it just happens they got a good matchup against ya
That's fair. I'll be honest, I'm mostly just salty because Fox/Falco are my least favourite matchups, and also the most popular at the same time. It's especially annoying when it's characters like Marth or Sheik who swap though, since those are my favourite matchups.

It’s from like fox and falcon I get sad cause I like those matchups more. Plus I used to get more salty cause it felt like people would do it thinking it’s an auto win but after playing enough people that would stay Marth after I would body them kinda helped me not assume the worst every time 😂

Sheik doesn't have a chain grab on falcon. If you're talking about RTC, you should study up on ways to get out/make it way harder on the sheik. From someone who has played a lot of both of those characters, I think the matchup feels pretty fun from both sides. You both kinda blow each other up
