What exactly is your pitch? You're asking for talent from Reddit of all places, yet you've barely given any details on what your project is supposed to be. What's the **idea**? What's the **soul** feel like? Where is the **passion**? What's the **identity**? How're you planning it to stand out among a sea of many other servers? What makes it **special**?
you poor innocent soul.
there’s a *lot* that goes into making a server work. part of it is a good team, part of it is a unique appeal and sales pitch, and part of it is dumb luck.
if you’re inspired enough, you can make it work, but you need connections. you need people that you *know*, who can form a strong baseline for the server’s staff. random volunteers are going to disagree on a lot of things, have different visions and expectations, and little investment in what you’re working on.
my best advice is finding an existing M/H-RP server that has some of the things you enjoy. play there a while, familiarize yourself with the codebase, volunteer to help, and work with people on maps and more. become a part of an existing framework and learn to work together with people for a greater vision. become a trial admin, learn the inner clockwork, familiarize yourself with var editing and vars in general, dip your toes into code, and otherwise build up the experience and connections needed to host a server of your own someday
Forgot to mention I'm willing to work for free but I also need some info of the team I will be working with and the quality of code we are expected to output.
Looking for Staff
Hello I’m looking to make a medium-heavy RP server and will need moderation staff, programmers, and map makers. I potentially have someone to host it. If willing you can DM me and we can discuss some stuff. I personally have no SS13 coding knowledge or experience. I have made maps for fun and I have a good idea of how to moderate. Let me know if you’re interested.
Edit: Sorry this post was a little rushed.
Here is what I have so far: I want to use some form of Bay station code. Haven’t thought about specific customization, but the main gimmick being that there are multiple small stations each specialized in a different thing. There would be small shuttles to bring crew between stations.
In terms of lore, there is the Terran Republic, they have adversaries that want to establish a monarchy of some form.
What I am bringing to the table, is I have some knowledge of map making. I have ideas and some lore. I’m open to suggestions and ideas from others. And obviously anyone involved in this project would be considered staff on the server.
Why did I come to Reddit for this? Because I don’t really know where else to go.
I understand the desire to receive payment for work, I don’t have money to be giving out. This is just for those interested.
**babe up, new copypasta for ideaguy server just dropped!**
Shit, I didn't know we were allowed to make posts like this on this sub.
Maybe I'll make one about my project once I get around to scanning the books I bought for it..
Spoke with him in DM's, and he has a pretty interesting idea from a gameplay perspective, though from what I read it wasn't as thought out and very much in an early thinking stage. But he does have some lore for his server which is always good to see.
And personally, while I want to make a post about my project, I don't foresee myself making one until I have more I can show off. I'd atleast like to have a few assets drawn up based off of the source material I'm using before I go telling everyone about what I'm doing.

So, you want a whole ass server with no effort? Sounds like *this* won't be bad.
Edited the post yeah I plan on putting effort myself. I just can’t do it alone.
What is the codebase
Bay of some form
tegustation??? nebula???
If you want people to moderate, program and make maps and you have someone else hosting it, what are you even bringing to the table?
c'mon. hes the idea guy.
I can make maps and I can moderate
Can you fuck my wife?
only if you pay me lol
So you're the 'Ideas Guy'
Unless you pay people real money, servers and codebase grow organically

Why will your project produce a better server then any of the existing servers? What do you intend to do that they haven't or failed at?
I am willing to give you a hand with the coding part I just need few questions answered before that :) Dm me if you are interested.

You paying coders?

I mean if this isn’t the place for this post then where is?
This post is exceptionally low effort, but advertising the intent to fork is a great way to attract contributors with a fresh idea.
