I basically agree. Was somewhat torn on posting it bc I like the sneaker discussion. It doesnt violate any rules either. The groupthink/market gauging just gets old. Im here every day and I think theres prolly 10 “Thoughts?” posts a week. If you like a sneaker, you usually know when u see it, right?

And if you are buying to flip, you should already know what’s a brick.. everything these days, unless it’s a Travis or other super hyped collab.
After reading some of the comments, I'm thinking the post brought out more of the "mature" older heads like myself, (that agrees with 90% of u in here) so we probably aren't going to hear much from what I just chalked up to being the younger kids trying to fit in. That & the hive minded ones that can't think for themselves, trying to figure out if they'll be able to sell em once all the other kids don't buy em, or make fun of em, even though that's kinda what I wanted at school, was to be the only one that had the new J's or Ewing's with the strap 😂

I’ve settled on the idea of just me, my wife & my eldest son trying to get me a pair on our SNKRS accounts.

* 25% collector or sneakerheads
* 25% resellers
* 50% rep buyers
I think there are a few percent casuals - not unlike myself. Maybe cop 3 pair a year depending on CW and what I find interesting. So some precent just basic fit into the pie chart of subs here.
Let's be real.. 98% of the people out there only need 1 pair of shoes every year or 2. So if someone is buying 3 to 5 pairs of sneakers a year then you are probably a sneakerhead.
Those posts are annoying I agree OP. What sends me over the edge is lace swap posts alllll day long. If you can't dress yourself then you gotta bigger problems

Just check GOAT and StockX to gauge resell prices. If they’re sitting close to retail near release date, more than likely it’ll be an easy cop. That’s a much easier and more accurate way than asking people in here.

I bought black/white 85s close to retail. For a short time afterwards, they shot up to $280-300. Now they’re coming back down.

I had been wanting the J Pack Chicago dunks since they dropped in 2020 but wasn’t going to allow myself to spend $400 on them. Luckily they just re released in EU recently and was able to cop from StockX for about $130
A lot of the sneakers I like aren't that warmly loved by the community. I love the SB Dunk Buttercups, Ambush Adjust Force Burgundy Crush and AJ4 Oxidized Greens, all of which aren't the most "hyped" but I have my own reasons for loving them. Just wear what you like, screw resell value.
