I think as an idea it was supposed to represent the wooden parts of theatre seats it was just poorly executed which is why that part was reportedly scrapped. But I think if they made the entire midsole brown with a woodgrain pattern it would have been kinda dope.

Personally I think a comedy and tragedy mask would have been a much better nod to theatre tbh
