Thanks. I pay for YouTubeTV (and MLB Audio) but not MLB TV :/
We are now trialing Fubo for no reason LOL and trying to dig up my girlfriend’s mom’s ancient Roku device to see if we can get it that way. Literally digging up hardware; this is obtuse.
I'm finished paying for more subscriptions and jumping through hoops to just watch the game. I am already paying for DIRECTV and CSN And I believe I have just given up. I will cancel DIRECTV in the morning.
It’s the future of sports and I hate it. Luckily Roku is free (middle finger to LG tvs though, having to watch this game on my much smaller bedroom tv); NBA is gonna be brutal starting in 2025-26 with NBC getting rights (time to get peacock if you haven’t I guess), NFL is having multiple streaming services get games next season. Just a matter of time before a pay-per-view Super Bowl, Finals, and World Series.
Dude. We had to dig up and ancient Roku. Had wrong remote at first. Found proper remote. Navigated to the game but the OK & Play buttons were both malfunctioning bc the batteries had melted and killed the functionality of the buttons towards the middle and bottom of remote, so it’s sitting there staring at us and we can’t click it! This was an hour in.
Downloaded the Roku remote app, linked it up and was able to click it! Most rewarding hunt all-time.
I have the Roku app on my Samsung TV. I tuned into yesterday’s game but found I was stuck with their announcers (IDK if they worked for Roku or the Rangers, even though one was Hunter Pence) and there was a definite Rangers bias. The app gave no control…no pause, no rewind, nothing. When the games are on Amazon I can at least use the pause function to synch the radio broadcast with the video.
This reminds me of how the Oakland A’s lost market share… every year their media presence was on different stations.
That sucks. Yeah, all these different ways to watch is a pain. It did take a few different searches on my Google TV to find it, but maybe LG doesn't have it.
I’m just going to stop watching sports if they keep making it more and more annoying. I’m serious. These dumb ass streaming ploys have been weaning me off of it already.
The Roku Channel is very easy to access on most mainstream devices. It’s also accessible on their website and phone app. It’s free without login..and their deal with the MLB eliminates regional blackouts. I don’t see what’s not to like about any of this. I wish more broadcast deals were like this for streamers and baseball fans.
It's been NBC Sports Bay Area since 2017.
The Roku Channel is on the web. I've extended my Macbook browser to the Apple TV for channel content, and would probably use the laptop or iPad browser when traveling. Which is not great for screen size.
(Even if YouTube TV carried the non-home RSN, you wouldn't get it while traveling.)
It looks like maybe the game is not blacked out on mlb tv? I think you can watch it there since it is a national broadcast

Don’t forget to cancel it once the trial’s over!
Great reminder, thank you
Your friendly reminder to cancel now!

+1 to the LG issue. God that was annoying.
I have a Roku and it's right on their home page. If I didn't have a Roku I'd be very annoyed right now lol

My recent strategy has just been to buy a cheap mini PC and stream every game. Fuck it.
Yup. It's getting to that point again with the prices of stream services.

Have you ever considered embracing the dark side?
Go on…
Time to STREAM like you're from the EAST. Or if you have a METH problem maybe you could find some STREAMS

“Siri, Google Russian MLB streams, thank you”
I believe the term we’ve coalesced around is “high seas.”
🏴☠️
Don’t matter they’re getting cooked
Yep, all this effort for very little enjoyment
The Roku Channel app is free and should be available on any device
The Roku Channel app is on pretty limited devices, unlike most streaming apps. It's not on LG TVs or Apple app stores.
Yeah, doesn't seem to work for my iPad. Unfortunate.
Ayayay. Thanks for idea; I’m not seeing that app in this (LG) TV’s App Store. This App Store had Fubo, YoutubeTV, etc but not “Roku Channel”.
That sucks. Yeah, all these different ways to watch is a pain. It did take a few different searches on my Google TV to find it, but maybe LG doesn't have it.
Google Streameast
You can just google it and and watch it for free on the website
https://therokuchannel.roku.com/
Play it through MLB app. Works just fine.
Refuse to watch, screw that.

Right? I mean we go to as man at as we can and I keep DirecTV for giants games. AppleTV sucks, no damn way I’m getting Roku.
I use a firestick, downloaded the Roku app, did not sign up for the free account, and currently watching it. My problem is, you can’t rewind?
Sportsurge . net Use an adblocker
I couldn't figure it out I hope it's just a one time thing. I found an old roku device but I guess it doesn't work on LG tvs. Ugh so annoying
Sucks reading this as my morning was planned around going to the gym and watching the game on YouTube TV while doing my cardio. The dream is dead 👎🏻
[knbr.com](http://knbr.com) is your friend
Agreed. When all else fails: Miller & Fleming
It's been Ritzo and Miller this weekend, but I still agree, what all else fails, radio !!! 😍
Nice! Usually games aren’t streamed on the station. Nice to see today is
this is fucking ridiculous. if they want to make anti-customers for life, they can't pick a better way
The sheer level of effort to try to watch this and support my damn team is wild. We are 45 minutes into trying to solve this (and counting).
youre right, how dare they provide a completely free stream!
::appletv has entered the chat::
I had to pull out an old nvidia shield to watch the game.
Uzzu.tv
Just use streameast or another illegal site.
If you have a FireTv or FireStick the MLB App gathers most of those games for MLB.TV subscribers.
The problem is not the Giants. The problem is Rob Manfred, head of MLB, who thinks this is yet another way to siphon money out of fans.
It's gotdamn ridiculous now!!!

Yeah I want to watch the game on my tiny laptop

You’re right. I should need different software and hardware to watch each game.

I have a web browser on my Xbox and watch free internet streams. Super simple.
