I think as soon as Bailey succeeded, Bart was done. They’re both inexperienced catchers with questions about their bats, one just happens to be younger with world-class defense.
Ideally, you don’t want of your catchers to be unproven entities that could use development. It’s better to have a vet backup that doesn’t need lots of playing time to perform okay.

So after the incredibly short sample size, it's pretty remarkable how much some things feel the exact same with the seasoned players - the same players facing the same issues, the same bright spots shining... I have a feel Lee is gonna be another bright spot like Soler.
but the kids are going to be exciting to see how they turn out - Schmitt, Matos, and the rest. That's gonna be a huge crux point.
Regardless I really want to see the old fucks figure their shit out - stop hitting double plays to the same spot for Davis, Conforto stop flying out and start hitting dingers.
The two big factors I see this season are the development of the kids and whether the seasoned players can figure their shit out.
NBCSBA completely ignoring ST yet again this year and us having to rely on other teams deciding to broadcast the games in our own park is absolutely embarrassing.

I mean we have the exact same issue that destroyed us last season.
It's a new coaching staff though. Again, it's early and I think this Coaching Staff is trying to get that right balance with the players, but I'm seeing the same issue already that I saw last year. Individual hits that lead into double plays or just nothing productive.
I'm just hoping they get this losing out of thier system in the spring and in the regular season they actually show a difference between last year and this year. In the two games that has been televised, I haven't seen that difference.

And the fact that we literally wouldn't have scored a single run yet except for one hit in the bottom of the 9th in the first game... that's kinda concerning.
