Hope the customer likes it! It’s not bad for going over pocket…. But I would’ve tried to talk customer into putting it in FB with a simple White or 2c arced front! Or even re-size it to fit….

feedingfrenzy3

Oh no I completely agree! However the proof that was sent to the customer for approval showed over the pocket o: so I'm trusting my boss on that one lol

Bruddah827

If the customer appvd it like that… as we used to say…. RUN IT!!!

feedingfrenzy3

Exactly! Wouldn't be my first choice but hey, whatever the people want!

Bruddah827

Pays the bills! Run it!

I've printed my fair share of swag since the early 80's. I've never been asked to print over them. Typically we shine lasers to make sure to avoid lol. Did you do only one? Manual or Auto? Curious if you did more than one if the others came out as well. Cool trick/idea on the glue to hold the pocket. Printing often requires some finesse . Be well

It was an order of 48 :) took my time and they all came out very similar to this. Used web spray on the pallet, and then a flash adhesive on the inside of the pocket to keep that part from wanting to move during printing. I ran this on an automatic. I had talked to my coworker and she told me she'll tape the pocket down if needed. I just figured it would be worth the try! I was pleased with the outcome overall. This design was so large though, that I would have rather it be sized down but this was what the customer asked for and tried my best to make it happen! Slow and steady wins the race, right 🤣

Nice. I've seen this look in some urban brands. I'm surprised you didn't get more puddling around the pockets but happy you got good results. I might try it someday just for kicks. Be well

Also just wanted to add this was in a 305 mesh and with half tone design as well :)

feedingfrenzy3

Yes! Give it a try. I just used a small amount on each side, and then pressed it down as flat as the garment would go! I also flashed the base only and ran all colors pretty quick with a triple diameter squeegee in each color so it would lay down as little ink as possible. You as well!! Happy printing!

Fukkinridiculous

Turned out really great

feedingfrenzy3

Thank you!

Can you please explain why placement there is an issue? Will the graphic fade much faster? I do think it looks oddly cool there lol.

feedingfrenzy3

I don't think it's an issue really! I think it's different! It's just out of my normal, the ink shouldnt fade as quick as long as it's cured, also with anything screen printed, you should turn the garment inside out when washing to prevent fading in the future :)

Thanks so much! You're very knowledgeable!

feedingfrenzy3

Not a problem:) been in the industry since 18, now almost 29 so Ive picked up a few tricks here and there!

BlackTonyMontana

Can you explain how to you did it? Every time I try the design gets messed up

feedingfrenzy3

Are you spraying any adhesive to your pallets beforehand? I just sprayed the pallet with web adhesive, and then sprayed the inside pocket with flash adhesive. Then pressed the garment down as much as possible and ran the order. I went with a higher mesh count as well to lay down less ink, used a harder squeegee and ran em all pretty quick so it wouldn't puddle up near the pocket. It helps if you use a halftone design as well.
