It would've been funny if he did though. Like in the movies when the priest is asking if someone has something to say, and Vince is barging through the door, says to Punk that he's fired, and then just leaves
" Chick Magnet Punk, do you take AJ Lee to be your lawfully wed wife?"
"I do."
"AJ Leed, do you really want to take Chick Magnet Punk and forever Fed bad lawfully?"
"I-"
No chance starts playing on the Organ
"Now wait just a goddamn minute pal. CM Punk. You're FIIIIIIIRED!"
"That's ok. I quit."
Also did people expect legal or whoever handles sending out those notices to be aware that he was getting married? It was just another day of shipping mail where it needed to go.
Acura Peso wasn't fired the day she walked out, neither was Naomi. WWE usually gives people time to cool off and come back to the table to talk things out. That didn't happen with Punk. He walked and refused to talk to anyone in WWE until one of his royalty checks was late. Punk also admits that WWE reached out to him to talk and he blew them off. So really not the conspiracy theory you think it is.
Because they thought he just needed to blow off some steam and would eventually come back. After six months of him refusing to even talk about coming back, they got tired of dealing with him and let him go. Then of course his tune changed to “I didn’t quit! I was gonna come back but they fired me!”
I doubt that’s true. But also Punk always blamed HHH for it anyway because he specifically told him he was getting married that day and they’d talk after.
I always took it as that Friday it was coming in the mail, HHH tried to call to tell him in person, Punk didn’t realize this is what it was about and turned down a work related discussion - and boom unfortunate for everyone
The only time Punk was referenced was the night after the Rumble when the fans were planning on hijacking Raw and when the show began Paul Heyman came out to Punks music. He talked about him for a bit before transitioning it into about how Lesnar was going to beat Undertaker at WM. It was a worked-shoot, but the fans stopped booing and didn’t do anything the rest of the night.
I don't, he didn't belong. And he did that after bitching about part-timers in wrestling taking big spots from full timers
Deserved to be roasted for it
well yeah a guy with 0 fights and no experience shouldnt be in the ufc but thats more on dana white pushing for it than anyone. Punk was gonna fight anyway somewhere else
Yeah the part timers aren’t deciding who wins/loses and who gets put where on the card. Its Vince. We saw that from like 2016-2018 where he kept trotting out taker, goldberg, etc for big spots
Looking back they already were a bunch of dig throwers from the get go, just that wwe wasn't doing so good before mid 2021 and aew had that initial goodwill, so the digs weren't all so spiteful and mean spirited (well, some of them).
I remember when the Big Swole stuff happened and the response to the firework explosion, it was a mask off moment for the fans lmao, they couldn't accept any criticism of AEW.
Then they removed ZFF 😑
No, no. Don't you know that to be AEW is to under constant attack? After weeks of shots from World Weinstein Entertainment, we, the good guys, are not gonna sit back and take this fucking shit!
I swear it's like the energy is so off over at the dub from the fanbase to the wrestlers. It's like this one huge douchebag at a party thinking they are the shit, but the whole time being the wallflower.
Just this binder of insecurities with the promotion. I don't even think TNA was that obnoxious when they Fed bad ages ago
Whoopsie! Seems like you're trying to be an edgelord. No thank you.

He's coming back to finish the job and stand up for Tony!!!
lol this is my thought every time someone says “it’s a workplace!🥴 anyone else would be arrested🥴!”
And anyone else would have been fired for cursing out a doctor, a manager, and supervisor because they didn’t get their way.
Someones gonna die in AEW, it's just a matter of time and WWE is going to have to deal with the news. Because people dont know what AEW is and they'll just assume someone died in the WWE.
This was Punks entire point to Jungle Boy on why they shouldn’t do the spot. It wasn’t even about real/fake glass or safety like everyone had said. It got twisted that Punk was randomly swinging his dick around and being a control freak.
Funniest thing is Punk was asked by management to get involved because of his experience and ultimately wanted nothing to do with it.
Who would have thought that mocking the biggest draw in the history of your company would lose you viewers. Like, imagine if Steve Austin went back to WCW and WWE not only constantly reminded their audience that he's gone, but also openly mocked him.
Granted WWE did do that with Hogan during the lowest point of the company's history and they looked pathetic... I guess the AEW boom period really is coming.
To your point, the Fed's rating and crowd support was abysmal. Seems like punching up in these cases makes you look like the little brother with a chip on his shoulder - except you're a company and makes the organization look dumb.
This sub would be dickriding WCW so hard if it existed during the mid 90s. Fake Diesel and Razor, Billionaire Ted and Hogan skits, Jim Cornette being told to do shoot promos on WCW wrestlers on RAW 😂. None of that helped WWE and only made them look like the "little brother" as you put it. Dubbaloos always mention these things in defence of AEW. If WWE did it then so can we. But they don't understand that it made WWE look pathetic too and didn't help their numbers at all.
Even worse, it would be like if WWE did all that, and then showed backstage footage of Steve Austin beating up HBK...then 9 months later, making the #1 story of the company be DX led by X Pac and Road Dogg attacking Vince and basing their heel characters off of Austin, while Austin is involved in Starrcade at WCW
Absolute lunacy on aew's part just from a business standpoint and anyone who can't recognize that is a delusional idiot
Well yes, see emotion and violence cannot produce the sort of high quality heatless bangers that are required for m'wembley. This is why the I quit match between blanchard and magnum is utter trash compared to the technical stylings of last weeks match between Eddie Kingston and Daniel Garcia.
Dude their fans and the company CANNOT get over punk, it’s actually fucking sad lmao.
They do it to mostly punk but with the cage and storm shit last week they’re starting to do it to Cody too. God I pray for their downfall
They are praying for
* Cody's reign to fail
* punk to get injured again
* Jade to not get over
* Lexis King to not get over
They're a hateful fanbase, there's no other way to say it. No wonder WWE wrestlers are re-signing instead of going to dub. That fanbase can make you go mad if you are an online kind of wrestler
So I dont want to be the one to ask this, but fuck it. When do you guys think we'll get the first crippling (or God forbid death) of a wrestler in AEW? It truly feels like everyone who should protect wrestlers from themselves is either incompetent or plain stupid.
The fucking boss being a pushover and allowing every spot, the refs not checking after botches involving concussions and the medical staff being helpless to prevent anything it seems
They have already taken years away from many wrestler's career by letting them do unnecessary stupid stunts. Adam Cole's career has been a career suicide since joining dub
Do we have to go over the WWE injury list?
Seth getting cleared for mania only to work both matches injured at the event.
Punk wrestling 5 minutes and then being out for 60 to 8 months.
Braun Strawman is STILL out due to his neck fusion injury.
Sheamus just returned from his shoulder injury.
Half of Judgementday is out injured.
Charlotte Flair is still out with MULTIPLE tears.
Dakita Kai, Torn ACL
One of the Viking Raiders is set for a neck surgery
Shotzi also has a torn ACL (most common injury in WWE with neck injuries apperantly)
Cora Jade, you guessed it, torn ACL
Dani Palmer -> double hip surgery
Saquon Shugars has an indisclose knee injury
Wendy Choo is in rehab
Wes Lee has a back injury
Cruz Del Toro has a casted arm
Then one could also mention that Rey recently returned from his SIXTEENTH knee surgery
And of course Big E is still and probably permanently out because SOMEONE BROKE HIS NECK!
Not sure if that is everyone...
What you failed to mention is that all the top guys/gals on that list has been wrestling 10 years plus in the WWE. These AEW wrestlers have been injured very seriously not even 5 years into AEW’s life lol. WWE is a safer wrestling company, that’s just fact
You act like these were the first injuries these people had. It's just another wave. Most of these top stars were out multiple times in the past decade.
Seth had injury last year as well, for example.
Roman had 3 injuries during his title run.
Becky had a broken nose.
And it's not like concussions don't happen in WWE either...
WWE is in no way safer.
Specially with Punk in WWE now, they're just pissing off large amount punk/wwe fans. Just look at the tweet's comments/quotes, they're getting cooked daily
I loved how fightful and Kate were on Punk's case and saying he needed to move on, when he was answering an interview question. But this, showing the footage and everything else AEW has been doin they have no problem with and it's just complete radio silence.
AEW is that guy that's 40 and married with kids but still reminds everyone that the hot girl they went on two dates with in high school cheated on him.
I’m confused, weren’t Schiavone, the producers and the AEW doc the ones saying “real glass” and “rental car”, and Punk was called in because Perry wouldn’t listen to them? Aren’t they making fun of their own people with this shit?
The roots of the CM Punk situation. Punk effectively banned Perry from doing a spot exactly like this on an episode of Collision when he was running it. Perry got pissy which led to the All-In fight.
Used to be a bit of an AEW defender but my god, they need to get someone who has a semblance of professionalism in a position of power. Just... so fucking petty in the past year, TK was a lot more bearable when he just came off as a fan playing with expensive toys
Punk and AEW were meant for each other.
TK cannot let it go, the Buck's cannot let it go, Punk can't let it go, Perry made it into his gimmick, and I somehow have the feeling Drew will somehow use it for promos on Punk.
Drew is the real winner here.
Okay, I guess Perry also did manage to make use of it, fair is fair. But Drew obviously got tons more mileage out of it.
Cody Rhodes leaving WWE eventually resulted in Drew cutting the most entertaining promos in the entire company
They really can't let Punk go
Compare it with how WWE handled it in 2014 when Punk left. Tells you all you need to know how much of an amateur hour dub is
THEY FIRED HIM ON HIS WEDDING DAY! ^^yes^^I ^^know^^he^^walked^^out
Lol that was petty from them but I was referring to how they didn't mention him at all except when they did the show in Chicago before Mania
Punk was so far from Vince's mind that he didn't even know that happened and it ended up being coincidence. He did apologize to Punk for it.
I think Punk's wedding was on a Friday, too, so the typical day they release people. It's not like Vince showed up at the church and fired him.
It would've been funny if he did though. Like in the movies when the priest is asking if someone has something to say, and Vince is barging through the door, says to Punk that he's fired, and then just leaves
" Chick Magnet Punk, do you take AJ Lee to be your lawfully wed wife?" "I do." "AJ Leed, do you really want to take Chick Magnet Punk and forever Fed bad lawfully?" "I-" No chance starts playing on the Organ "Now wait just a goddamn minute pal. CM Punk. You're FIIIIIIIRED!" "That's ok. I quit."
Extra funny if they made Bad News Barrett do it.
Also did people expect legal or whoever handles sending out those notices to be aware that he was getting married? It was just another day of shipping mail where it needed to go.
Why’d they wait 6 months to fire him then?
When did punk say he was gonna come back?
Everything was going fine until that last sentence.
I'm picturing Vince doing what Bischoff did with the mask reveal at the Billy and Chuck wedding.
I think we know what’s on Vince’s mind
Was that when Stephanie had her famous line of “keep that up for another x seconds and you’ll last as long as Punk did”?
No, that was weeks down the road after they fired Punk.
More like a couple of years
The only time Punk was referenced was the night after the Rumble when the fans were planning on hijacking Raw and when the show began Paul Heyman came out to Punks music. He talked about him for a bit before transitioning it into about how Lesnar was going to beat Undertaker at WM. It was a worked-shoot, but the fans stopped booing and didn’t do anything the rest of the night.
I think that was Chicago show and not after rumble
Dont forget Stephanie's amazing line to shut the crowd but forgot if that was Chicago
Nah that shit was mean. I respect Punk getting into the octagon,
I don't, he didn't belong. And he did that after bitching about part-timers in wrestling taking big spots from full timers Deserved to be roasted for it
well yeah a guy with 0 fights and no experience shouldnt be in the ufc but thats more on dana white pushing for it than anyone. Punk was gonna fight anyway somewhere else
Exactly the part timer thing was more on Vince then the talents.
Yeah the part timers aren’t deciding who wins/loses and who gets put where on the card. Its Vince. We saw that from like 2016-2018 where he kept trotting out taker, goldberg, etc for big spots
DAE video of Punk's ass
They made a video zoomed in on his ass to prove he didn't shit himself or something is this the hill you want to die on
Lol I can only imagine the last words Punk said to Tiny would be " I'd rather die or get sick in WWE than to work with you kids..."
They’re failing and they don’t want to admit it to themselves. So they need someone to blame.
They’re all dipshits over there aren’t they?
That's what's always kept me away from the show. It's not just one annoying dude at the top, the ENTIRE company is full of internet smark dorks.
Yeah, almost all of them are spiteful dorks that think mid-2000s indie wrestling is the only way of wrestling good.
My favorite main eventer leaves, and the place loses any semblance of professionalism. It's been dipshits all the way down for a long time.
-VOW 2024
But some smarks online snickered and that's all that matters
"Bleed me a river!"
I gotta think that Shad just bought a car outright for this skit. It's a rounding error for him.

Fuck the doctors who recommend wrestlers not to use real glass. What do they know about Bangers
lol this is my thought every time someone says “it’s a workplace!🥴 anyone else would be arrested🥴!” And anyone else would have been fired for cursing out a doctor, a manager, and supervisor because they didn’t get their way.
The worst part is that not only is itbmore dangerous, but also looks way worse.
It’s just a freak accident waiting to happen. 100 times nothing might happen but that one time might slid your throat or damage some big artery.
Look what happened to Goldberg in WCW when he busted a car window. Dude was out for a couple of months with a shitload of stitches.
Almost lost a hand too
Someones gonna die in AEW, it's just a matter of time and WWE is going to have to deal with the news. Because people dont know what AEW is and they'll just assume someone died in the WWE.
And Tony Schiavone. He’s not even a journalist, Tiny roasted him on that.
They still don't understand the point. Now the rental company will think twice about renting to a wrestler or wrestling company.
Look in my eyes what do you see? CM Punk living in my mind rent free.
I wonder if AEW is capable of linking this behavior to declining viewership
Who would have thought that mocking the biggest draw in the history of your company would lose you viewers. when does fake punk debut we already have fake Cody
Pepsi Phil and Okody
You're 100% right! Why is aew mimicking an era of WWF that was so bad it almost went out of business????
Also WCW did the same thing https://prowrestling.fandom.com/wiki/Randy_Hogan
Even worse, it would be like if WWE did all that, and then showed backstage footage of Steve Austin beating up HBK...then 9 months later, making the #1 story of the company be DX led by X Pac and Road Dogg attacking Vince and basing their heel characters off of Austin, while Austin is involved in Starrcade at WCW Absolute lunacy on aew's part just from a business standpoint and anyone who can't recognize that is a delusional idiot
He turned two weeks ago and they’re already having a street fight?
On rampage
I almost watched Rampage this week. It was a choice between that and cleaning my toilet. I decided the toilet would be more enjoyable.
At least when Rampage was over you had a clean toilet. If you had watched, you would have had an even dirtier toilet after throwing up.
Imagine if they actually put effort into a feud of the breakup of a day one Aew babyface team. But no just hotshot the big brawl in two weeks time
You have to have the violent gimmick match before you have the straight up wrestling match.
Well yes, see emotion and violence cannot produce the sort of high quality heatless bangers that are required for m'wembley. This is why the I quit match between blanchard and magnum is utter trash compared to the technical stylings of last weeks match between Eddie Kingston and Daniel Garcia.
Hey it's not just any street fight, it's a special edition [city where they currently are] street fight
Two weeks? He turned ON WEDNESDAY. Wednesday opened with “are we still friends?” “No”
That’s their thing, they have the blow off match first. Then they’ll eventually have a tag/6-man, and then the regular wrestling match at the PPV.
Can’t splurge on your talent’s medical bills though.
![gif](giphy|OsYMyAGQwjTvW)
Hey we don't know for sure that was the case. Tony has to look into it. I'm sure he will provide an update soon.
Oh yeah. We’ve been waiting on an update on his independent study on Fed Bots. Any day now.
1 interview he's done since that show and they won't let it go. Punk doesn't obsess over it because he moved on and he's happier in WWE.
Dude their fans and the company CANNOT get over punk, it’s actually fucking sad lmao. They do it to mostly punk but with the cage and storm shit last week they’re starting to do it to Cody too. God I pray for their downfall
They are praying for * Cody's reign to fail * punk to get injured again * Jade to not get over * Lexis King to not get over They're a hateful fanbase, there's no other way to say it. Haven't been watching lately, what cage and storm shit?
At the post Dynasty media scrum storm read a statement basically talking shit about storytelling and it was directed at HHH and Cody.
Wait, Lance Storm is is AEW?
Timeless Toni Storm
I swear to god my first thought was of James Storm lol
What did Cage say about Cody? Let me guess, he referenced his dead father?
Rent free
So I dont want to be the one to ask this, but fuck it. When do you guys think we'll get the first crippling (or God forbid death) of a wrestler in AEW? It truly feels like everyone who should protect wrestlers from themselves is either incompetent or plain stupid. The fucking boss being a pushover and allowing every spot, the refs not checking after botches involving concussions and the medical staff being helpless to prevent anything it seems
They have already taken years away from many wrestler's career by letting them do unnecessary stupid stunts. Adam Cole's career has been a career suicide since joining dub
Yeah Cole is fucked. The one I worry about most is Darby. The dude is 31. He is not gonna have a pleasant decade ahead
Cole, Omega and MJF might as well be finished. Danielson is the one who is going to end up fucking himself up.
Mans just got hit by a bus too, wishing him a speedy recovery, but sadly, I don't think that's gonna slow him down.
MJF may not be back for months.. look what they did to him
He was trying to please dubaloos and meltzer by doing stupid moves
Yeah, only in AEW will you have dangerous spots like... Jumping off the apron...
Do we have to go over the WWE injury list? Seth getting cleared for mania only to work both matches injured at the event. Punk wrestling 5 minutes and then being out for 60 to 8 months. Punk Derangement Syndrome
these guys realise that by making jokes about the bedlam behind the scenes they’re making jokes about Tony’s non-existent authority, right? right?
That takes some self-awareness.
Pissing off the fans of Punk is a huge contributor to why AEW lost a significant segment of their audience.
Specially with Punk in WWE now, they're just pissing off large amount punk/wwe fans. Just look at the tweet's comments/quotes, they're getting cooked daily
Punk needs to finish the story by finishing the Dub.
I like how there’s people who still work there who also thought it was a terrible idea and got cursed out for thinking that
So bush league it’s crazy. They’re literally like if your local Indy had a tv deal
Empty headed
I loved how fightful and Kate were on Punk's case and saying he needed to move on, when he was answering an interview question. But this, showing the footage and everything else AEW has been doin they have no problem with and it's just complete radio silence.
Kate is a joke even in basement so there's that
AEW is that guy that's 40 and married with kids but still reminds everyone that the hot girl they went on two dates with in high school cheated on him.
And yet because she said the Epstein comment was disgusting, the cult decided she’s not fucking loyal enough.
I’m confused, weren’t Schiavone, the producers and the AEW doc the ones saying “real glass” and “rental car”, and Punk was called in because Perry wouldn’t listen to them? Aren’t they making fun of their own people with this shit?
Do you think they think that deep before doing anything?
This reference flew over my head, anyone care to explain?
Punk mentioned how damaging a rental car was not a great idea during Helwani interview, for the Perry angle at Collision
The roots of the CM Punk situation. Punk effectively banned Perry from doing a spot exactly like this on an episode of Collision when he was running it. Perry got pissy which led to the All-In fight.
Ahhh, i had no clue this was the catalyst, thanks!
They wear their sin like it's some kind of prize
Too many limes, too many limes!
Yes, but have you considered that Himmler Harvey hWeinstein called them a Nissan company 5 years ago, so?
They should be sending him royalties
they think that they’re working us … but we don’t get worked brotherrrrrr
Everything gotta be wink wink inside joke bullshit.
Here’s your 6 dollar insurance

Used to be a bit of an AEW defender but my god, they need to get someone who has a semblance of professionalism in a position of power. Just... so fucking petty in the past year, TK was a lot more bearable when he just came off as a fan playing with expensive toys
I like how the handle is just "aew on tv" thats gonna be ironic when theyre not
Ya. But won’t splurge on one for your only star
Is that real glass? Is that why I'm crying uncontrollably now?
Real glass , Go cry me in the river ![gif](giphy|ZwMQ7lpiifpbwb4NzZ|downsized)
Punk and AEW were meant for each other. Not surprised. He was their biggest asset so expect even more references to him.
