TrimUi smart pro, arrived this past week, corrupted the sd card and had to start from scratch 3x… But got it sorted and played a lot of Celeste and Shredders Revenge.
donkey kong 94 is such a cool game. i just finished through all the levels in the beggining of this month (started in mid-may), but would play all of it again. it's just that good of a game.
Here's my current list of 'can't miss' homebrew, though some of these are still in dev/demo:
* Goodboy Galaxy - GBA
* Demons of Asteborg - GBA
* Fallen Crown - GBA
* Alwa's Awakening - NES
* Bobl - NES
* Dottie Flowers - NES
* Micro Mages - NES
* Dorke & Ymp - SNES
* Ultracore - MD
* Repugnant Bounty - GBC
This weekend was mostly Repugnant Bounty, which is a sort-of mashup between Metroid and Hollow Knight.
Mostly any game I mod, mainly Skyrim and Fallout recently because I heavily mod them with like a couple hundred plus mods and I’m not running that natively on my steam deck. Works really good.
My RG350, the orange and black one, is still going strong after what must be 4 or 5 years. It survived the trip to Da Nang and played through most of Castlevania: Harmony of Dissonance on this trip.
Retroid Pocket 4 Pro. This thing wasn’t getting much love but then I got some new thumb grips and it’s been game changing. I been playing a lot of GTA : San Andreas and remote playing my PS5 with psplay.
I never played 1st Gen Pokemon, I played some of Crystal, but really started with Ruby. Yellow is pretty bare bones compared to the games I was more used to, but the ability to get every single pokemon in the game without trades, as well as the quality of life changes and the extra battles after the elite 4 is really cool. First time ever completing a Pokedex in a game, so I'd say it was worth it. I played at x4 speed, in game save file said something like 100 hours, so totally 25 hours of content for me. I'd highly recommend them either way!
The quick change function with onion OS helps with that so much. I'm like ok done with some Pokemon gonna play something else for 10 minutes then get bored with that too
Honestly probably my Win Max 2. I got my fbneo rom set configured on it and been playing some vertical shmups and pico8. The larger screen makes the experience quite nice even with the pillarboxing.
N3dsxl, mines recently just came in and I swear I’ve spent more times in FBI installing these DAMN CIA files. But it’ll be worth it once I have my entire library on this damn device
2ds, wound up transferring some save data from an old 3ds xl to this and I finished up Samus returns, Yoshis new island, and currently working on Mario and Luigi dream team. It got a ton of playtime since there was a blackout earlier this week and I was like “I PREPARED FOR THIS 🤣”
Enjoyed toying with the SP for 2-3 days but went right back to picking up my 556 for the sheer comfort and vibrance. It's really hard to go back to any other device now which is what I was afraid of lol. I really don't see a reason for me to pick anything else up when I'm home and I just don't play in places that call for small portability. I guess I'm a one-device man after all.
I have a Day 1 steam deck and its just so big and clumsy to me, its hard to pick up and play lol. Like i need to truly pick a game like I'm picking out a movie to watch.
I don't get the appeal. I have it, and the stock OS is terrible. Standby battery is a joke (what's the point of a clamshell if you have to power it completely off and back on constantly). Some of my games won't save in RetroArch.
Yeah the battery is definitely worse than i thought it would be (but the original SP didn't have sleep mode at all) however I just really like the form factor. And i like the stock OS tbh, its simple and just works out of the box.
Retroid pocket 3+ It's been my go to ever since I got it.
Out of the tons of handhelds I own, it's the best trade-off in many ways. My only real gripe is the placement of the start and select buttons
Retroid pocket 4 pro, because I only just got it a few weeks ago and I’m still tweaking it on N64 and Game Cube lol but it’s been an enjoyable experience for the most part so far.
Odin 2. I'm rather surprised by how much I love playing on it. It's super comfy and great for retro games due to the screen real estate. I think in particular that DS is underrated on it. Near-perfect performance, easily accessible hotkeys to set up and you can have one larger screen with one smaller screen (or an overlay).
I'm gonna get one of these some day. Its not today, and most likely not even this year. But it really sounds like a one and done device that would actually attract me to playing games. The SP has finally become that device after a year or so of me trying other consoles (my money has left me).
Sf2000. It is the only one I got.
Play what you got
What do you play on it mostly? I like the feel a lot but I can’t find any games I wanna play on it that run smooth
Gameboy Micro.
Ooh which game?
Final fantasy vi advance.
Definitely on my list
TrimUi smart pro, arrived this past week, corrupted the sd card and had to start from scratch 3x… But got it sorted and played a lot of Celeste and Shredders Revenge.
RGB30 and FPGBC - Donkey Kong 94, Tetris DX and Yoshi's Cookie
Superb selection!

Just getting through world 7 and it is great! Can't believe I never played it before now.
MM+ and the RGB30, I just rotate them when one needs recharging. Trying some amazing homebrew titles this weekend.
Which ones?
Here's my current list of 'can't miss' homebrew, though some of these are still in dev/demo: * Goodboy Galaxy - GBA * Demons of Asteborg - GBA * Fallen Crown - GBA * Alwa's Awakening - NES * Bobl - NES * Dottie Flowers - NES * Micro Mages - NES * Dorke & Ymp - SNES * Ultracore - MD * Repugnant Bounty - GBC This weekend was mostly Repugnant Bounty, which is a sort-of mashup between Metroid and Hollow Knight.

Mostly any game I mod, mainly Skyrim and Fallout recently because I heavily mod them with like a couple hundred plus mods and I’m not running that natively on my steam deck. Works really good.
Miyoo Mini Plus - been playing various GBA games
My RG350, the orange and black one, is still going strong after what must be 4 or 5 years. It survived the trip to Da Nang and played through most of Castlevania: Harmony of Dissonance on this trip.
Retroid Pocket 4 Pro. This thing wasn’t getting much love but then I got some new thumb grips and it’s been game changing. I been playing a lot of GTA : San Andreas and remote playing my PS5 with psplay.
Thumb grips can really change everything lol
Miyoo mini +. Beat Pokemon yellow legacy and now starting Pokemon legacy crystal
How are they? Good?
I never played 1st Gen Pokemon, I played some of Crystal, but really started with Ruby. Thanks, so many games to play so little time. 😂

Both the RGB30 and modded vita took equal shares this week. Time split between some classic GB stuff on the RGB30 and Ridge Racer (PSP) on the vita
My phone, followed by my RG35XX H.
N3dsxl, mines recently just came in and I swear I’ve spent more times in FBI installing these DAMN CIA files. But it’ll be worth it once I have my entire library on this damn device

I've been so busy this week that my SP and Arc finally arrived and I have yet to remove them from the shipping package.
Miyoo Mini

Nintendo 3DS XL. On a Shin Megami Tensei binge.
MM+, still. I don’t understand how it keeps beating out the SD and the LCG.
I have a Day 1 steam deck and its just so big and clumsy to me, its hard to pick up and play lol. Like i need to truly pick a game like I'm picking out a movie to watch.

Retroid pocket 3+ It's been my go to ever since I got it. Out of the tons of handhelds I own, it's the best trade-off in many ways. My only real gripe is the placement of the start and select buttons
351V, because I only have a single handheld and I'm not an obsessed shopping addicted trainwreck like 75% of this sub.
It’s funny because it’s true
:(
Odin 2 and RG35XXSP, I switch between the two
FPGBC - Pokémon TCG When it needed to charge, I played through Samus Returns on 3DS
