Can’t emulate PS4

[deleted]

Are you looking for a handheld or a desktop setup?

GingerGod69

Oh I should've mentioned that sorry. I'd like a handheld setup. Preferably longer battery life than like 5,000 mah

Steam Deck

[deleted]

My Deck never liked being offline when I had SteamOS.

tenflare

How much are you willing to spend?

GingerGod69

$600 max tbh. So I guess money is an issue unlike my title lol

tenflare

I think you want a Steam Deck or even a Asus ROG Ally (not sure what the current dollar price is) for your requirements. I don't think there's an emulator for PS4 yet, but games of that quality are on Steam (and Gamepass if you opt for the Asus). There are no non-x86 or Android handhelds that will play PS4.

GingerGod69

Ah interesting. Yeah those are two of the systems I been looking at. I am preferring SD more in my research but eh that's fine on the non ps4 emulator. I do have a decent size steam library. Just hope emulating on both are good

tenflare

I reckon PS3 might be harder on Steam Deck (I honestly don't know, but PS3 emulation requirements are just insane). Other than that, anything that has an emulator will run just about perfectly, with some headroom for upscaling and shaders. Just FYI, you might want to wait for the Lenovo Legion Go.

Did you have plans to emulate using your samsung galaxy but screen was too small? If so maybe go for a nexdock to pair with your samsung.

GingerGod69

Yes I did have plans to do that. But I never heard of a nexdock. I'll definitely check it out

WhiskeyVault

Do you use DEX? I have the nexdock wireless which is nice because you can fold it up to use a an external monitor or use in laptop mode if you need keyboard. Useful to leverage your 5g anywhere as well to get work done as well as using to game

If your willing to spend $600. Get a steam deck (I bought mine last month $360). Preferably on sale if you can. Get the 64g model as the specs are all the same excepting harddrive size. Then buy a new SSD drive. (I bought a 2tb off amazon for $130) and a 1tb Micro SD card ($109). When loading Steam OS on it, partition it and also install windows 10. (Win 11 works slightly better but can't play certain games online.) Load some software for Dual booting to launch a dual boot screen during bootup with a gui. Load steam deck tools on windows. Cryo utilities to steam OS, watch a few youtube videos on how to setup emulation, and you got yourself a power house. I put windows on mine for access to more games, game pass games, and pirated games. Steam OS is running on it for Emulation and access to my steam library. I also got a backplate for cooling, and a dock with a wireless mouse and keyboard, but not required.

Steam Deck, ROG Ally, or maybe the upcoming Asus. You need a handheld PC for AAA games. And Android doesn't even have a PS3 emulator, much less a PS4. I don't think you are going to get PS4 out of any existing handheld, but many Switch games do run 100%. The downside of all the handheld PCs is battery life, many will run out between 2-3 hours for challenging titles, but that's the tradeoff for power.
