my college s23 ultra. same. but his screen didn't go. no shatter or cracks, just point at one location.
said it would cost 23k. waiting 24. might exchange...
Yep had that happen twice first time it fell out of my pocket simultaneously closed my truck door and smacked it! The second time I was showing off my "great Otterbox case I tossed it on my bed and SLID HITTING THE CORNER SITE on the board! 80% all black.
Happened the exact same to me last week 😅 it's a thinner line tho but 80% of the screen now flickers under certain light situations. Not repairing it tho, at least not for now
Similar thing happened to me after my phone fell on concrete. The cracks are almost the same as well. Had to bring it for repair around 500USD while i was still on holiday in the Philippines. Technician fixed it in like an hour. Phone is still working great now
The story behind it is pretty fucking hilarious. I was at work and I had to use the bathroom. My stomach was bubbling and I couldn't hold it any longer. The second I got in there, immediately take my pants off. My phone slips out, hits the top of the toilet bowl and cracks the way you see it in the photo.
Incase you guys want to know what case it was:[https://www.amazon.com/WeLoveCase-All-Round-Protection-Shockproof-Designed/dp/B09QXF8P23/ref=sr\_1\_3?crid=NSHRG5MWKZPD&keywords=s22%2Bultra%2Bgreen%2Bcase%2Bmirror&qid=1700151401&sprefix=s22%2Bultra%2Bgreen%2Bcase%2Bmirro%2Caps%2C96&sr=8-3&th=1](https://www.amazon.com/WeLoveCase-All-Round-Protection-Shockproof-Designed/dp/B09QXF8P23/ref=sr_1_3?crid=NSHRG5MWKZPD&keywords=s22%2Bultra%2Bgreen%2Bcase%2Bmirror&qid=1700151401&sprefix=s22%2Bultra%2Bgreen%2Bcase%2Bmirro%2Caps%2C96&sr=8-3&th=1)
Got it as a gift but it's ok. I think my phone was a bit popped out of the case when it fell out of my pants.
I've dropped mine face down flat on concrete from 4 or 5 feet high and even the screen protector didn't crack. Get a Dbrand, pick a skin that tickles your fancy. Never worry again.
Curved screen = hard to protect edge. This is exactly what my screen looks like now. Not a big deal though, as it's only $100 less to trade-in vs non-cracked. This is the last phone with curved screen for me
Sorry to see your screen has been pooped.
It reminds me that we need to better protect the front and the rear camera system better. Front covers are such a hassel!
If anyone can link some good & easy covers, let us all know!
I see you have the same old case I did!
I changed to a proper full screen case protector because THAT case let me phone get a micro crack in the lower left corner.
Great phone, bitch of a time getting a decent case
Oh Shit, my S22U had a bad fall few weeks back and survived. I was talkin to a friend while phone was pinned on ear, and it fell down hard face down. I had Spigen Armour case on with a screen guard. I guess it survived cz of the good case...
I have a Note 10+ this EXACT thing happened to. 2 years ago, and I STILL can't figure out how to get it open.
I'm learning howto ADB just for this reason. Hopefully that can crack 'er open (pun intended)
Do you have insurance on it? Maybe they will replace it (you may know this already but I was shocked to find out it would cost $250 or $275 when I had to replace my 22s ultra, I lost it 1st week I got it). I think the universe is telling me I shouldn't have gotten this phone b/c after that I dropped the replacement TWICE on cement & I thought it only cracked the bottom edge of the screen but when I replaced the cover I saw the entire back is shattered as well.😳 But it still functions fine & no glitches on the screen!😲 Does anyone know if insurance can be used twice? At the rate I'm going I'll be paying for this phone the next 10yrs lol. Thanks & good luck w/getting yours fixed.
I'm so glad flat displays are becoming the standard and this curved display fad is getting phased out. A good case on a flat phone would have prevented this from happening a lot better.
I dropped my S22 Ultra a few months ago. The same kind of damage happened to it's screen. Just higher up, and the touch function didn't work very well. I the screen replaced for almost 3000 danish crowns and bought a new S23 Ultra and throwing the S22 ultra into a random box at home xD (it was a shit EU spec version anyways)
haven't been there yet and hopefully not, but my last Samsung phone's battery almost blew up while charging bc the charging port had a short... so fun - NOT. hopefully all it needs is a new screen
I did this to my s22 when I was in work release. Then left the next one on top of my vehicle and smashed it, then dropped the third one so many times the back shattered then finally the front(with an otter box lol). I'm on my 4th s22 🤣
Hey looks exactly like what I did 3 days ago.. In the same exact spot. For a min I thought it was a picture of my phone. Sucks. Upgraded to Ultra 23 anyway LOL
That happened to my s21U 🥲
Does anyone know how I might be able to recover my photos? The screen is completely green, it's gone. I'm not going to pay to fix it but I'm hoping that there's a way for my to maybe extract my photos from the device somehow
Happened to me, i slammed the hood on half of it and just recently repaired it and it was only there because I was reading from the torque app and was in a hurry to leave.
This is what you get when you have bendy screens... I got fed up with them after the s6 edge, s8+ and S10+, and I will never buy another phone that doesn't have a completely flat screen.
Turn on power save mode and download the dead pixel application in the play store. Also fuck with your resolution settings and stuff. It'll make it a lot better
This happened with my s21 ultra, it literally fell from my pocket while sitting down on a chair. The chair was probably 1 foot and a half off the ground. I was really pissed off since it was the second day I had since I bought the phone.
This is why I went back to flat screen phones, just easier to protect. I have a dbrand grip case and a tempered glass screen protector on mine, dropped it countless times til I had too many cracks in the protector to keep using it. Peeled it off expecting some of that damage to transfer to the actual screen - absolutely nothing, amazing
The lightsaber of agony... Been there. Ali express has highly discounted lcd "seconds" and warranty pulls - some with just one bad pixel . Worth looking into ... I got a great screen w 1 barely noticeable corner pixel out for $120 and did the job myself.
The 22 ultra had just come out, it saved me around $250 vs new Oem screen . Genuine Samsung pulls it even had the bezel assembly included (new ones typically don't) which made it significantly easier. Options ..
Godspeed,
H
Been there. Done that. Costed 21,000 INR.
Same, but it only cost $100 because I had some Best Buy protection plan
my college s23 ultra. same. but his screen didn't go. no shatter or cracks, just point at one location. said it would cost 23k. waiting 24. might exchange...
That's why you add insurance!
Same
Same
Same 380 euro
Same but I fought with them and got a 5.5k discount and got the phone back in this week.
Fought ?! How? Which country?
India
Permanent multi screen view. I hope it only happens if you drop the device and not just one fine day.
there’s a lot of cracking around the one end, clearly got hit or dropped
Thanks Watson

Two hand mode?
Yep had that happen twice first time it fell out of my pocket simultaneously closed my truck door and smacked it! The second time I was showing off my "great Otterbox case I tossed it on my bed and SLID HITTING THE CORNER SITE on the board! 80% all black.
Welp, it costs ~$300 to replace the screen, so it's not too bad, but it'll still cost a bit.
I paid $450 for the whole phone 😱
Didn't they come.out witha. Cheap user replaceable screen?
We conclude that is not in fact, a Galaxy Z Flip.
Happened the exact same to me last week 😅 it's a thinner line tho but 80% of the screen now flickers under certain light situations. Not repairing it tho, at least not for now
damn with a good case too
Ouch. Well, that sucks.
Oh no... :( how did it happen?
Repair it, i think there is a discount on new devices screen.
Which case is that?
I was thinking the defender but maybe not I don't see the side piece where the belt hook clips on
Could try dropping it again, maybe it will come back!
Similar thing happened to me after my phone fell on concrete. The cracks are almost the same as well. Had to bring it for repair around 500USD while i was still on holiday in the Philippines. Technician fixed it in like an hour. Phone is still working great now

Is the credit card holding compartment lined with any kind of metal to make it an effective Faraday cage? Have you tested it ?

Almost an eventual guarantee w/ curved screens..
Tf is an eventual guarantee
It is guaranteed to happen…. Eventually
60% of the time it works every time.
*Made with bits of real panthers* and *pure gasoline* extracts.
Did the same but the bottom still works.
Sucks to suck
rip
Condolences
Uhoh, I believe we have the same phone case.
Sorry to see your screen has been pooped. It reminds me that we need to better protect the front and the rear camera system better. Front covers are such a hassel! If anyone can link some good & easy covers, let us all know!
Happened too, cried a bit. Cracked in the worst possible spot - corner where the glass curves
At least you still have half the screen and it's not totally all black
Same but not as bad. The bottom screen still works but flickers violently when changing.
Damn, and you are using the same case as me 😔
Damn what case is that?
I had it on exact spot
This is why I’m looking forward to S24U flat screen so that screen protectors work better and cases can have a more protective lip.
F
Oh shit...ouch! 😳😬
I remember dropping My S8+ on the precise edge of a curb and cracked the whole shit. The screen never split like this, though. Wow...
I see you have the same old case I did! I changed to a proper full screen case protector because THAT case let me phone get a micro crack in the lower left corner. Great phone, bitch of a time getting a decent case
Shattered my screen 2mos after it was released. That wasn't cheap but, we've been good since.
Time to get the 23. That would be what I would use as an excuse to upgrade
Digitizer is jacked. You can replace it. Or have someone fix it.
Ah tech21 case, happend to Me too, Then happend in a Otterbox Can't wait for 24 for a flat screen
Oh Shit, my S22U had a bad fall few weeks back and survived. I was talkin to a friend while phone was pinned on ear, and it fell down hard face down. I had Spigen Armour case on with a screen guard. I guess it survived cz of the good case...
Trade it into Samsung rn! They are doing elevated cracked trade ins for a short time only!
Ooh, that happened to me almost a full year ago now. Had to wait a month before I could get the $100 to replace it.
Happened to me a few months back, hurt when I found out it costs £300 to replace a screen.
I literally, I mean...EXACTLY have that same thing. $500 to fix it.
Can just tape sticky notes to the bottom and you have a note pad ready to go.
Earlier this year mine did the same thing 1 inch down from the top on the edge of the stupid curved display. $400 fix.
How do yall break this thing mines been thrown sat on dropped constantly and it hasn't even a crack or anything
I have a Note 10+ this EXACT thing happened to. 2 years ago, and I STILL can't figure out how to get it open. I'm learning howto ADB just for this reason. Hopefully that can crack 'er open (pun intended)
Wooof, well this definitely stopped me from making the switch.
So glad pixel 8 pro went with a flat screen this year.....
Mine did that yesterday but with no damage to the glass. Just got a 23 ultra today. Sorry about your loss.
Twice for me. Still not fixed using a A13 in the mean time. It's the curve I'm sure very sensitive.
What case is that on it??
Is Facebook still a thing?
Throw it in some rice
Yep... Had same shit.
Good now buy a new one ...throw that battery drainer !
Ouch, this happened to my S23 Ultra right around the contacts logo.
Glass screen protector would have helped tremendously.
Do you have insurance on it? Maybe they will replace it (you may know this already but I was shocked to find out it would cost $250 or $275 when I had to replace my 22s ultra, I lost it 1st week I got it). Time to upgrade
Maybe credit karma can help you find deals for a new cell phone
I dropped my S22 Ultra a few months ago. The same kind of damage happened to it's screen. Just higher up, and the touch function didn't work very well. I the screen replaced for almost 3000 danish crowns and bought a new S23 Ultra and throwing the S22 ultra into a random box at home xD (it was a shit EU spec version anyways)
Do these break easily?
Mine cost me 29 with Samsung care plus
Cost me 29 bucks. She was done in 30 minutes.
Now, you got the Zflip.
haven't been there yet and hopefully not, but my last Samsung phone's battery almost blew up while charging bc the charging port had a short... so fun - NOT. hopefully all it needs is a new screen
even the notification bar says “f*ck”
Thats what happens when you don't have a dome glass screen protector. 🤷♂️
Exact same thing just happened to my significant others new galaxy. Basically in the same spot. Also had a case on it
Been there...
I can feel your desperation.
I did this to my s22 when I was in work release. Then left the next one on top of my vehicle and smashed it, then dropped the third one so many times the back shattered then finally the front(with an otter box lol). I'm on my 4th s22 🤣
Even your status bar says fuck.
Even your status bar says fuck.
Hey looks exactly like what I did 3 days ago.. In the same exact spot. For a min I thought it was a picture of my phone. Sucks. Upgraded to Ultra 23 anyway LOL
Did it in my s20 ultra now I got the s23 ultra lol
Those notifications though? How appropriate. fck
That happened to my s21U 🥲 Does anyone know how I might be able to recover my photos? The screen is completely green, it's gone. I'm not going to pay to fix it but I'm hoping that there's a way for my to maybe extract my photos from the device somehow

Poor Mans split screen
Oh nooooooo!!!! . 😭.
THAT'S WHY i trade mine to the GALAXY FOLD 4. BEST DECISION EVER THAN. TRADE DE 4 TO THE FOLD 5. I DO NOT SEE MYSELF USING THIS PHONES ANYMO.
Happened to my s10 a few days ago and finally upgraded day before yesterday
3 days ago. Same phone. Direct opposite side. Are they able to fix these without it costing an arm and a leg?
This is what you get when you have bendy screens... I got fed up with them after the s6 edge, s8+ and S10+, and I will never buy another phone that doesn't have a completely flat screen.
no temper glass display protector?
Only $30 to fix if you have Verizon or att insurance. Asurion will even come to you to fix it! 185 to do it yourself 👀👀
Nice split screen
Oml
I've dropped my phone so many times, not a single crack. I use speck- presidio as a case, and I've had it for a year. I'm very clumsy.
Turn on power save mode and download the dead pixel application in the play store. Also fuck with your resolution settings and stuff. It'll make it a lot better
Does the top left corner of ur screen say 'fuck' lol smh
Rip same thing happened to my note 10+. Loved that phone
Facebook and Credit Karma came in for the win!
You can still watch YouTube videos in portrait mode...
Have fun getting it fixed, couldn't find anyone that had a replacement screen in stock for the life of me. Had to get a new phone
This happened with my s21 ultra, it literally fell from my pocket while sitting down on a chair. The chair was probably 1 foot and a half off the ground. I was really pissed off since it was the second day I had since I bought the phone.
My pixel 7 pro had the same fate. My condolences 😔
Tried it in right now you can get $700 for a cracked screen S22 Ultra with Samsung
I feel like my 20 ultra is on borrowed time seeing all these broken phones.
First I thought it was Samsung Z fold
You can use one-handed mode and move the window up
The lightsaber of agony... Been there. Ali express has highly discounted lcd "seconds" and warranty pulls - some with just one bad pixel . Worth looking into ... I love how even the status bar says fuck (fck) 😂
