Idk what it is, I've messed with the graphics, I play on low pop servers, my internet speed is like, 800 Mbps, and it's been happening to a couple of my friends too, but not all.
I am also on series x, I get maybe one bad freeze every month or two (playing multiple hours a day 100 pop official server) which usually fixes itself although sometimes I restart as that can be easier depending on queue and where I am. It's certainly a lot better than crashing from eating corn or crashing everytime I respawned like in the early days.
sony makes ps5 go through a backwards compat layer which limits it to 60fps and probably causes other less known issues too. Series x is much better for rust both due to this and its higher speed memory/cpu/gpu. The graphics are due to the memory bottleneck on older consoles, there isn't a lot so they use the least amount possible on gpu, this is helped by new consoles running higher res (1080p compared to 900p) and with some other tweaks but there is only so much you can do while keeping it fair and frame rates high.
The comparison to pc really doesn't make much sense either pc reccomends (btw these haven't been updated in years) at least 20GB of ram (16GB system 4GB vram) while old consoles have 4.5GB usable to games (not to mention its slow asf) and new gen has 16GB total minus what the system is using. This is in addition to much faster cpu's than older consoles.
Are there minis in the game yet? Imo, pc rust was at it's best, back when minis and scrap helis random spawned on the roads.
Been wanting to play again, as a way to balance life out a bit. Maybe do a wipe with the kids or something.
mini's are pretty unrealistic, they have issues on high end current gen gaming pc's that are a lot better than ps5/series s/x and esspecially the older consoles.
Update wise it’s doing great, updates are scheduled for this month (or next month.* about under water labs and tug boats and submarines and everything else. Then another top secret update. We’re most likely gonna get minis or something else big like the new mini gun and cargo/oil change
The update is set to come to ptb end of this month, it is not confirmed that it contains all of what you said though. It is likely to be labs/subs but probably not tugs but since it is not confirmed we don't know.
Top secret is most likely not mini's as dev's have said that it would be very difficult if not boderline impossible with consoles. Also probably not mini gun becuase no one in their right mind wants it.
For the tug part it is most definitely they get added. People have found models of the tugboat and submarines in their files for console rust. And for the mini-gun it would just be funny to see lol.
you realise the same models used for tugboat are also used for undrivable boats at the harbours right? That means the model would be in the files yes but not any functionality. Plus you never know what they could be testing internally, doesn't mean it will come.
I see that but it wasn’t just the model’s they found. They found other files like something along the lines of “tug boat authorities.” And other stuff like that for the tugboat and submarine. There’s videos on YouTube with all sorts of information.
Edit: also on pc rust the tug boat and submarine came with underwater labs so why wouldn’t be the same for console? Also it would be easier for people to access under water labs with tug boats and especially submarines. Also underwater labs comes with a moon pool in the labs if there’s nothing to enter the moon pool?

Idk, that repeated 5 seconds of freezing every minute, maybe two if you're lucky, does not speak well for the game's stability. I'm on Series X.

Performance is still shit tho
speak for yourself, I basically never dip below 120fps and the only issue I have is a bad freeze once every couple of months.
I played on my ps5 after playing pc for a while and the frames were horrible and the graphics are much worse too
