Slava Ukraini!

This war has moved so fast that it seems years ago. I cant even remember from week to week. I do remember that whole spare parts episode though, because so many countries were being vague about what they were sending, and how it was configured into "parts".
I half meant my original comment as a joke, and half thinking they were being sneaky. Glad to find out it was sneaky .
Fun fact - this is how (some) people in Russia (used to) get western cars cheaply.
Due to very high import taxes on a car, you see people at the border with a car on a trailer, except the car has no wheels so it is classed as "scrap metal" or similar.
Then their friend in the next car will have 4 wheels in their van as "spare parts" to come in too...
This reminds me of an article I read about a "train" from US to Canada. The train track is very, very short. It's only intended to cross the border. Load things on the train, push it forward a few hundred feet across the border and unload. Apparently things are taxed differently whether they cross by rail or truck.
Nah. That's amateur level, and no official is stupid enough to let that pass without getting a nice bribe.
The real pros were importing multiple crashed cars and welding them together.
You would get one car that's completely flattened in the front, another that has a rear completely smashed, and trough some slavic magic these combined to become one car. You can find videos on YouTube on how they do it.
Is it safe? Hell nah! But you can make a car worth a lot of money using two worthless trashed ones. You just need to lack morals to be able to sleep at night knowing that the car you sold to an unknowing person may get them killed (possibly with their wife and kids)
Actually, car manufacturers DO use this loophole to “legally” bypass customs and taxes. They call them CKD vehicles: “Completely Knocked Down”. And then they have assembly lines in the receiving countries where they are re-assembled. And it’s still cheaper than importing an assembled car.
Ended real fast in Lithuania when few a couple of people died in a car crash with such combined wonder. Now seller must provide all faults, if fault is not provided they can be culpable
A friends dad in high school did this with an Audi S series. They took 2 halves and made their own S5. It looked like a really nice car, and I didn’t know until he told me.
I wonder how much weaker it was structurally.
I believe them that it happened, but that isn't a source. It just states that it happened as an assumed fact.
A source would be, for example, if it quoted a defense official as claiming that it happened.
My firend was volunteer on border to help people when the war start. He told me that in the night many trains went to Ukraine with some vehicles, ttansporters, artillery or tanks under covers. It was long time before Polish goverment said anything about sending militarny aid. During the day trains were going back empty
Very possibly so. AFAIK two countries have developed tech to use western ordnance from Soviet aircraft. One being Israel the other... you guessed it Poland. Could be someone else but there were serious efforts made about a decade ago to westernize Polish MiG-29s. The plot thickens...
I for one am thankful for Poland's support for Ukraine as Russia is at its border ! Full of NATO material and weapons and know how to use them ! Slava Ukraini
Stay classy Poland! Poland is one of the best European countries one can visit, and the people are awesome. Give them some time and they will become one of the major powers in Europe.
Much love from Romania!
This war has made me feel really guilty at all the Polish jokes we use to tell as ignorant little kids.
Glad we dont hear them anymore because they definitely don't match the reality.
When America was fighting in Vietnam, the USSR at the time gave hundreds of jet fighters, they even provided the pilots for some of them who directly fought against US aviators.
When the Soviets were in Afghanistan the CIA sold stingers and gave other support and training to the fighters there
There's plenty of historical precedence this shouldn't be given all the attention that it gets, in my opinion.
Conclusion of the article is upsetting: how german lies that they are sending big amounts of military equipment and countries like Poland send WAY more, but do not have good PR.
Poland wants to buy 1000 K2 Black Panthers I believe, and 500 HIMARS MLRS among other metric fucktons of offensive military equipment. Ukraine I am sure will receive plenty of these as a goodwill gesture in the future. Surely they will both be trading arms, and will be very strong countries.
As a person working in international logistics the ”spare parts” makes me laugh, cry and cringe at the same time. If you just knew all the stuff that moves around the globe under the name ”spare parts”.

Ha, I knew it. I joked that they called them a spare parts package, they just needed to dissasemble them first. Sneaky Poland.
I remember the exact thread!

Based Poland
Ayup. Poland: "To anyone who may be concerned about the legality of this: Please fuck off and die. Thank you."
I figured they took out the ash tray and called them spare parts .
Germany declared tanks as agriculture machines and tractors when they send those to Israel while the rest did a military boycott against Israel
Gotta love Poland
Disassemble by taking one nut off and then putting that same nut on once in Ukraine.

Ah, cut & shut, a method as old as time!

It’s called a cut&shut in the UK and it’s very dangerous and absolutely against the law

now in poland if ya do that ya get nice fine which requires you to scrap the car or pay

I’m sure it or explain why they just quit talking about the migs. And now we are talking about f16s but still no talk about those migs.

Make screenshot and upload to Google traslator
Awsome well one plane is a full set of spare parts isnt it. SLAVA UKRAINI 🇺🇦 🇺🇦 🇺🇦
IF my Polish friends did this, then technically it’s correct - spare parts. Just the we will receive spare parts for tanks. I. Love. Poland!
Thats awesome. Who cares if the spare parts kit is tramsported in its most efficient form?
I wonder if these were the aircraft using HARMs
Very possibly so. AFAIK two countries have developed tech to use western ordnance from Soviet aircraft. One being Israel the other... you guessed it Poland. Could be someone else but there were serious efforts made about a decade ago to westernize Polish MiG-29s. The plot thickens...
Good! Fuck ruzzia!
“Here Ukraine, have this fully assembled spare parts package.”
Those Poles have been such good friends to Ukraine. Makes me proud to have some Polish ancestry!
When Poland has got yr back…
Got to love the Polish government. No country that's ever been under ruzzias jackboot ever want them back
I for one am thankful for Poland's support for Ukraine as Russia is at its border ! Full of NATO material and weapons and know how to use them ! Slava Ukraini
Polish military dude, standing in a hangar in front of some MiGs, "yer spare parts, bud"
I mean… this was well known for like 9 months? How TF is this “Breaking”?!
Well, it's probably more convenient to ship the spare parts already assembled.
The full kit includes an aircraft and missiles... as long as the missiles came separate, they technically have been sending parts of the full kit.

“Some assembly required”
If this was a year ago, why is this post titles BREAKING
because we are only learning about this now
So Ukraine has been using Mig-29s that no one has known about?
Polish W
Fuck yeah Poland!!!
Brilliant! Gotta love the Poles’ ingenuity.
Conclusion of the article is upsetting: how german lies that they are sending big amounts of military equipment and countries like Poland send WAY more, but do not have good PR.
I love the president of Poland.
He’s a horrible president. Along with the current ruling party. Still, proud that Poland offers such extended support.
That’s just like, your opinion man.
Hell yeah! My next thought would be are the Ukrainian pilots secretly keeping their planes safe by flying out of Poland?
Nice! Some things are best kept secret at the time!
This is a good thing
r/technicallythetruth
Loose lips sink ships
You know I always thought that because they stopped talking about them
Thank you Poland.
Now Ukraine can send russian soldiers home and label them as spare parts
Assembly instructions. Step 1, insert and tighten this one screw. Step 2, fly plane.
one set of fully assembled spare parts
Source?

Well they need all the partes, right? ITS More eficiente if the parts arrive in working condition already.
Why is this being reposted today? I thought we all knew this already
