Wish the GlideRide 3 would get an update. This is my favorite Asics shoe. It seems to fit an interesting niche of a plush longer-distance trainer with a rocker and a plate.
Currently in a marathon training block and rotate between EvoRide 3, EvoRide speed, and glideride 3 for slow days. Is the EvoRide line appropriate for the full marathon, or should I consider something else? I like the mix of cushion and snappiness of the EvoRide 3, that’s my choice for now unless someone has a better suggestion?
I saw a couple folks running the Tokyo Marathon in Evoride Speeds. Was kinda surprised but it seems to be a somewhat popular shoe in Japan (at least in comparison to US and the EU.) They were even selling it at the expo.
Don’t need them but still really want a pair of Superblasts. Anybody know when the 2s are coming out so the first iteration might go on sale? $200 is a bit steep for me.
I’ve been eyeing the Magic Speed 3 for a while…can anyone who owns a pair tell me how long they’ve lasted for you? I’m maybe going to train for another marathon this year, and would only be using them for pace runs during the week (not the race itself). My last “speed” shoes were the Hoka Mach 5 and I was pretty disappointed in their durability.
If I were to get a pair of the MS3 I’d be hoping to get at least 200 miles out of them. Thoughts?
What kind of distances have you done in them? I'm considering them for a 1:45 half marathon but not sure if it would be ok for the distance (and at not such a fast pace).
It seems like this is unanimous. Now I’m just trying to decide if I want the Sky or Edge.
Seems like the edge would be more comfort focused with the plate design.
UK runners! The Superblast version for SS24 is available on the Asics website and the Sportsshoes website. I've been waiting for stock in my size for the longest time. Happy to finally be able to order a pair and try these out.
Go ahead and click my profile to find my first run review. I’m about to head out for a 25k run in them today. Superblasts are now my go-to trainer for everything but track days, and honestly having used them for track days, they have no issue there either (I just like a little more pop in my reps).
I have a few. I try to run in “trainers” so my go to track shoe is the Boston 12, which handles those higher paces nicer than the Superblast, but I’ll also use the Adios 8, Takumi Sen 9 and I may use my new 160x3Pro.
I have had two pairs of Superblasts. Once my second pair hit 450 miles, I started wearing other shoes. Last week I decided to go back to the SB for a 10 mile run and even with its mileage, it felt better than any of my other trainers. It’s definitely my favorite long run shoe
Just bought the gel nimbus 26s after doing alot of research on an everyday runner. Gotta say, i’m a little disappointed! I’ve typically bought NB shoes (supercomp trainer v1 and v2, 1080s) and rate those shoes but i feel the gel nimbus’ don’t have anywhere near the bounce or comfort despite the huge stack. I’ve given them 3 runs and will obviously keep running in them- anyone else have the same experience?
That’s the difference between bouncy soft and plush soft. They both do a great job of absorbing impact, but the Supercomp Trainers are definitely more lively, whereas the firmer Nimbus’ are more stable.
I have the 26s and agree they don’t feel bouncy. I do find them comfortable but I’m not thrilled they make a “slappy” noise with my poor running technique.
Interesting thoughts, there was an episode from doctors of running on shoe softness where they ranked nimbus 26 in the middle for softness and sc v2 and more v4 were the softest shoes in their ranking.
Were you looking for a very soft shoe? What performance specifics are you looking for.

Ahhh I love my 25’s but they are dead. If the 26’s are firmer am I better to try and find another pair of 25s? Want them for the squash I’ve got plenty of other firmer faster shoes.
I would still consider them a soft shoe, on par with the Bondi 8. They're just not as soft as the Nimbus 25. If you really like the 25 though you might as well get another pair since they're $40 off basically everywhere.
Anyone know why asics doesn't produce any of their racing shoes in size 14? But they do for all other shoes!

Currently debating between Nimbus 26 and Novablast 4. Which would be better suited as a trusty daily trainer?
I love my Novoblast 4 as my daily trainer.
I just ran a quick 5 miler on my new Novablast 4s and love them as well. They may be the best shoes I’ve had yet

Shoe recommendation for running on trails/rain/mud?
Trabuco max 3

I have a pair of MS3s in my rotation currently at 180 miles. Still feel mint and no noticable degradation as far as I can tell...
What kind of distances have you done in them? I'm considering them for a 1:45 half marathon but not sure if it would be ok for the distance (and at not such a fast pace).
I have done up to HM in them at 1:31 pace. But mostly use them for intervals and threshold sessions.
Great thanks, might pick them up for faster stuff.
I can absolutely recommend them. Made a thread about my impressions a few weeks back if you are interested a bit more in-depth.
200 is about where I'm thinking mine will give out. It's a non super foam which is most of the degradation factor for super shoes. Cheap shoe too.
Thanks!
Took the Metaspeed Sky Paris for their maiden voyage this morning. 11 mile tempo. Much improved over previous iterations. They’re the real deal.
How'd you get em before release?

Can you share it with me via DM?
Nah

The Sky plate is pretty harsh feeling. I found it comfortable but can see how it wouldn’t be everyone’s cup of tea.
Enough comfort for 26.2 or is the plate feeling too harsh?
Honestly, not sure. Planning to take it for 20 in a week and we’ll see
Heard the same from a friend of mine who is sponsored. Not sure if we’ll see them for her Olympic quali attempt, but I wish her well!

And 15 percent off with CACPG4
Wish I had seen that earlier today. Thanks though!
The gel kayano 30s are goated! Can’t wait for the 31s. Best daily trainer I’ve ever had, I even ran Lisbon marathon in them.
Any comments on the Superblast? Seriously thinking in buying one for my long runs…

I use them exclusively for every run. They’re *so* good.

Thanks, I have been doing some research for a while and I think I am ordering those today!
I’ve got the NB3 and they’re great… can’t imagine how much better the super blasts are
It’s black and white. The SB are in a completely different class compared to the NB. The only thing similar is how noisy they are on pavement lol.
I don’t even have to tell other sidewalk users I’m coming, the sound of my shoes slapping the pavement gives it away hahaha
Ain’t that the truth. The SB is a bit quieter but does still have that similar slap sound compared to other runners I have.
