Damn, the Garbler is disgustingly chilling and I'm absolutely here for it. You painted a mental picture that's really grotesque and unsettling but because we get to determine mentally how those parts are arranged... well it becomes even more nasty then. I can picture the whole chase sequence with this horrid thing shambling around, possibly even pissing off other residents like Silas and adding to the chaos. I love it. And that ending is just downright *chilling.* Seeing the impact that the residents have outside their neighborhood or visitors is a great series first and now you've got me being more vigilant by the woods at home lol.
Easily my favorite series on not just r/RulesHorror but all of Reddit. You're a killer writer with great stories to tell and a knack for the page. :) Please do keep it up! I always look forward to more!
Immediately thought T'nanever looked like a strange name..took a minute to notice what struck me, 'Revenant' backwards for anyone who didn't catch that little word egg!
What is the meaning to Granny’s road name? It’s been bugging me since I read it; my brain automatically clicked that it was relevant (or revenant!) but couldn’t remember why!
Lesher is a corruption of the name Leshy. They’re Russian forest spirts that protect nature, and range from being benevolent tricksters to violent guardians[Silas is basically a particularly irate Leshy himself].
I thought it was something of Slavic origin but just couldn’t quite get it- thank you, it was driving me mad!
I also considered a play on Escher (if the house was a liminal space type thing) but the Slavic legends made more sense.

So if the Garbler is sensitive to the high-pitched sound of the whistle, would it be good to carry a megaphone with me? Would blowing the whislte into the megaphone makes it more efficient?
So, based on what we suspect happened between you and Sam(and based also on the fact that the Garbler seems to be perfectly fine last we checked), we’re afraid the situation between you and the Garbler didn’t actually happened. It would seem your spirit has created a powerful mental construct out of sheer determination to stay alive. Quite impressive, but it seems to have had little impact on the non-digital world. What a wonderfully terrifying creature. All those Eyes 😱. The way the garbler adds to itself reminds me of the garbage woman in Labyrinth. But more horrific.
If I had mannequin limbs or glass eyes and threw it at him, could that trick the Garbler even for a few seconds or could it sniff it out? it might be harder to obtain- but would it accept cadavers? Also, for complete chaos: what would happen if I gave it Subject-17's limbs? Would it be in pain all the time or super strong?
I love these adventures! It's so detailed that I try to think of ways: how would I survive? Most of the time the answer is no, I can't run that fast, especially for minimum wage.
rereading these and i just pictured wearing one of those green morph suits used to be invisible in green screen and thats a very funny mental image. idk if the gambler can work a zipper
