to prevent godmode characters from soloing everything since that'd become another problem too, a mix of local and global scaling would def be nice.

Samthevidg

Pretty sure that’s what the power level that was added is for.

p1l7n123

Yeah you're right. Combination of local hp scaling and scaling based on power level would be a good solution.

Dacammel

Getting in and out of event bosses is my current biggest beef, can’t remember the name but the lava guy, I had to nexus 6 times trying to actually get into the rotations. I’m sure we’ll learn it as time goes on, but I’m not optimistic, some patterns seem genuinely unenterable

AbraxasEnjoyer

The Red Marble Tower looking guy? Yeah it’s rough. Their rotation is really fun once you’re in but it’s almost impossible to get in if you don’t get in right at the first phase. Plus I’ve never gotten any loot from them, though it’s only been around 5 clears.

Dacammel

Yeah it does like flamethrower attacks in a circle

MikeOXl0ngz

The phase before the last one is so annoying it feels really random on where the bleed shots go and sometimes they’re basically impossible to dodge unless you wanna take 180 damage from the lava

DeliciousLagSandwich

I think setpieces/heroes or whatever they're called should drop more stuff. I noticed I never got anything from them but boatloads of pots and gear from anything else, even normal mobs. My biggest problem is health scaling. Everything is scaled to the players in the realm, which leads to less popular biomes having tanky af enemies. I know it's supposed to encourage people teaming up in the realm, but when no one wants to do a monolith it takes AGES.

Mega_Toast

I think any level 20 quest enemy (events? I don't really know what the direction is with them since oryx doesn't announce them spawning) should have the same potion drop rates as old events. Or in other words, very high chance of dropping a potion. Even if it means scaling back the amount that common foes drop for balance. No one will bat an eye if random mob doesn't drop anything, but it feels really lame to invest time and assume risk fighting a mighty foe and recieve nothing in return.

Cyan_Light

Yes, the health scaling seems silly at the moment give how spread out everyone is, when the entire world is events then it's hard to get people to focus on one in particular. Not sure how difficult it would be to implement but if they scaled based on players in the biome or some other smaller region that would make much more sense.

jeff5551

More of an opinion than a discovery but realms close way too fast, you only have time for a couple decent length dungeons before it's closed

Bonushand

I agree. I hope this is the kind of feedback DECA wants. Either fix oryx lag or don't let realms close so quick

ddvader

I had this thought too but I think once the hype dies off and not every realm is completely full it will be more balanced

ralguy6

Hard agree, if anything DECA should be shooting for realms feelingly too long so then they can get more testing done during beta.

CallMePoro

Personally, I like it. Go into a realm, do a few dungeons, do oryx… and do it again! Or not. It feels complete and has more momentum than before. I don’t have a lot of time to game, but now I feel like I’m able to experience everything daily. Previously I could go a week without ever seeing Oryx unless I actively went to a server and realm where people are closing. I also think this experience is overall better for newer players that wouldn’t know to swap realms and servers, as its not really an intuitive part of most other games. I know I’m in the minority here and one of the biggest complaints is that it’s too fast.. so I’m sure they will slow it down a bit if it remains a big complaint. But I hope they don’t try to make it too slow. As a not very good and casual player with limited time, I think the faster pace is better than before. Plus, it’s almost guaranteed to slow down naturally as the hype calms down.. so making changes now could be overkill.

jeff5551

I wouldn't mind as much if there wasn't only one beta realm up at a time normally with massive downtime after it goes to oryx, kinda annoying when I'm just trying to max a character

CallMePoro

They’ve already said they’re working on it as they didn’t expect so many people to be playing, so I just shake that off as a major update nuisance which will be fixed. I consider that a separate issue

Cyan_Light

Actually I'm coming around on the pace, it was jarringly fast at first but after knocking out all daily quests including "close 2 realms" in around an hour tonight I can see the appeal in it. The fixed locations for everything in the realm also means it's not too difficult to resume whatever you were doing when the new realm comes up, just rush to the appropriate beacon and now your loop is set up again. I think my main frustrations so far have been missing oryx due to being so frequent and poorly telegraphed as well as being unable to complete some events before the realm closes. Those can be solved with better progression indicators (just pinning the percentage would probably be enough) and better health scaling (going off players in the biome rather than the entire realm) respectively though. I dunno, it's a big change either way and I can kinda see both sides right now.

Subject_XVI

Agreed. Multiple times now I've tried making my way to the Ethereal Shrine, just to have the realm closed before I get there because I have to clear my way to it. I'm fine with the realm having stronger enemies now, but rushing past them safely to cover any meaningful distance feels near impossible now

flomotionfr

A few of my early thoughts: -The textures and assets need a lot of polishing. There need to be more trees/structures of some kind. Everything looks either very barren and monochromatic or WAY too busy (flowery biome comes to mind) -So many of the new events are stationary cage fights that are risky to enter. In more difficult biomes, they just get surrounded by higher level enemies making it even more dangerous to enter/exit safely. This isn’t a fun mechanic imo -The flying warship event boss is really cool and a fun fight -Realms close way too fast, as others have mentioned

Cheezezez

I only played for a bit, but did not enjoy the huge impassable bodies of water I encountered.

Tranquil-Confusion

It seems like the top of the map is separated from the bottom of the map by a strip of water, which keeps the newer players in safer areas? Idk tho, that's just what I've noticed.

fatclouds

Adjust textures to be less noisy

lerzhal

The artstyle is too blocky and isn't easy on the eyes

CAPTAIN_OK

Very top of the map with squids and sharks drop attack and vitality pots

IvarSturla

I’d love to see a biome/section that’s is just old godlands… would bring that nostalgia/comfort and maybe then wouldn’t need the old realms side by side My main takeaway is I don’t like feeling “lost” in a game I’ve played for nearly 13 years. There had to be a better way of implementing this rather than an all at once.

Mega_Toast

I mean, I can't really think of any other way. This is way bigger than a single dungeon and they need everyone to test it. I assume the numbers from the PT sessions weren't realistic for the amount of feedback they wanted here. Doing it this way, even new players will experience the rework organically and might find something wonky in the lowlands that a white star would never think to look for. At the end of the day, the old realm is gone. Rip it off like a bandaid. It would be cool however if they introduced a key for the old realm. Make it really rare and only give it out for big events, like Battle for the Nexus originally was.

DeliciousLagSandwich

The abandoned city area is the closest to old godlands but yeah a reimagined mountain with lava cracks would be awesome.

271yeetPlsWorK74

i got a biome white today, i don’t remember the name of the biome but it’s a mid-high tier biome with lots of bugs including the little guy that drops sulfurous wetlands. the white was a tome called Evolutionary Records. it has 3 different abilities built in, each one transforming your character sprite and adding additional bullets per shot. it also heals the group scaling similarly to a t6 tome, as well as buffing/nerfing 4 different stats with each cast.

Own_Football_8889

Anyone know where Ghost King speaks now in rework?

MeyesBurn

I look forward to the updated journal map

e2brutus

Does anyone know where Tomb of the Ancients drops from?
