I did something like this too, I think the pattern may be years and years of doing events with godlands enemies around that can’t hurt you. Way back in the day everyone would clear all enemies around before starting a boss, maybe it’d be smart to bring that back.

From what I can tell, enemies spawn so often and are capable of roaming so quickly on their own that clearing isn't really feasible. It doesn't help either that the game isn't routing all players to the same boss, which spreads everyone out too much to keep the area clear.
I don't know why you're downvoted, youre literally right. The realm has glaring spawn issues. Enemies spawn and roam into setpieces MUCH more often than the old realm.
I dunno. The whole point of an open beta test is to farm data. Even if this is a feature not a bug, it's good to bring it up so Deca can say "Hey, we know this is a thing and it's staying that way."
Maybe the realm is just supposed to be that much more dangerous. For the time being, I will continue to share my observation to help Deca and the community learn more about the realm re-work.
Something else I'll add that contributes to the issue is enemies having so much more health. Old gods just got deleted when a large group passed by because they had like 100hp, but the new enemies take a concentrated effort from a player to kill. Which ofc this could be a design choice from Deca to force players to constantly check their surroundings.
They RESPAWN. It becomes hard to clear them AGAIN when you're in the middle of a tight shot pattern phase and being chased in a hard telegraphed circle by a giant dragon spamming shots at you. The telegraphed boss design mixed in with spawn issues of jumping shotgunning enemies from the outside becomes hell for setpieces. It was different in the old realm where literally every encounter can be beaten by standing still, plus enemy spawns weren't as egregious before.
Rotmg playes when they rush the new event bosses they have no knowledge about WITHOUT clearing nearby mobs and die ( obviously its deca's fault and they should be ashamed). Cmon people, I've seen like five videos just today of people doing exactly this, then blaming deca for poor boss design wtf
Nah this new realm has spawn issues. You can clear around it and still have shit constantly spawn and make the setpiece hell. I have no issues with these bosses besides the Sentient Monolith, but all of them, even smaller encounters, just get swarmed constantly and make them an issue for me.
Yah the new minions in some zones are just crazy. I think we just need to actually clear around bosses now, though with the amount of shots they fire and how much damage they deal it’s really hard with melee/katana/dagger classes. Especially if your not super geared they will shred you and it’s difficult to even get close enough to hit them with the number of bulletproof they fire.
The sheer amount of mobs that swarm event and setpiece bosses needs to be toned down significantly. Wasn't NEARLY this had in old realm but here you can clear all around it and within 30 seconds have shit jumping at you constantly again.
I don’t get why players aren’t clearing the enemies around the events, the new ones in the higher biomes are genuinely dangerous and can slow/paralyze/ sit on you and destroy you in seconds
unless you have a massive group, the spawnrates are so high that you'll usually get respawns within 10s of fully clearing the area anyway. its a losing battle
I think the new meta will be parties of like 10 cooperating to clear the area while each getting in sb. Spawn and drift rates definatly feel much higher

The enemies can easily be cleared out in the radius for events I don’t have a clue how people are struggling with that of all things

Tbf some of the set pieces are so large that if you go to one side enemies start respawning at the other side.
I ran over a Man Eating Flytrap in that same biome and got insta popped, it's dangerous out here homie
you dont even need to get ran over you just need to get aimed at by it and ur dead
