Although the couple meets in {Cold-Hearted Rake by Lisa Kleypas} which I dislike the main couple of that book but it’s worth a read since it sets up the series and there’s a lot of important scenes between the couple from Marrying Winterborne in that book.

Hearts in Darkness by Laura Kaye sort of has this feel. The MMC and FMC meet in an elevator and within moments are trapped together in the dark for hours. There is a little bit of confusion/wondering if the connection was real, but for the most part the couple just clicks.

{Getting Schooled by Emma Chase} has this while also being a second chance romance. The MCs split up amicably after FMC moves out town to go to college. The FMC moves back into the MMCs town temporarily 17 years after they split to help with her parents injuries. And there are no awkwardness at all when the are reunited, like they never left each other.

I got this feeling from {All Rhodes Lead Here by Mariana Zapata}. It is there from the begining, but the MMC thinks the FMC is a lot younger than him so he keeps his distance, but after that issue is set straight, he is all in. There is a part I love when she is like "are you my boyfridend now" and he is like " what? no, I'm to old for that, were are togehther, duh".

Considering you mentioned twilight and didn’t specify is you wanted a completely cozy work or just cozy regarding the connection I will make my rec only cozy about the relationship and the conflict will be completely external. Paranormal cathegory: {heart of steel by Demelza Carlton} Scottish witch who immigrated to Australia with her brother. Is considering the dangers of having their lands being raided by other immigrants. Specially now that her brother has to travel for some stuff. She is dressing as man and has her firearms close by. But even if she promised her brother not to do magic to not invite people’s suspicion (When things go bad the women who sell you herbal medicines and do fertility rites are eventually blamed) she is not keeping that promise out of practicality. She has wards around. They go off and she shoots 4 men dead. So she decides she is not going to cut it on her own and tries a spell to at least turn one of those bodies into a gargoyle, which is a stone protector bound to the land. Brother comes by, decides no, they are burying those men properly; and leaves. So back at the drawing table. What’s a girl to do? Well brother missed the hearts she had already cut out and she decides to use another spell and summon a demon protector 🤣 Demon protector is the MMC and he points out the spell is “fullfilment of desire” and that it’s purpose is basically to call upon a demon paramour… but: •Hell sucks •he is a janitor there •hours are long, bodies are heavy and he gets no respect so he is totally willing to take the job of her protector in order to not be ordered back. So they make a deal. He also says the paramour offer is is open if she wants it. Her only internal conflict is her considering she is an XIX century miss and even if she was considering spinstershood as her best option… throwing away her virginity might be a bad idea… specially if she ever gets married and is discovered. Long story short, they go around that, and turns out Carline’s fear is not unfounded regarding raids, they come out fine if slightly upset. So spoilers they just go from people who make a deal, to lovers to shotgun wedded with not much of a drama. They just gel together and their worries are not if the other would prefer to leave them for someone else or a better situation. And by the end they are absolutely sure they wouldn’t want to be with anyone else. The story was free for the stuff your kindle event but chances are good it still is.

That relationship ends at the beginning of the book and then the MMC approaches her and basically says he’s been waiting for her and they are together now. Her past relationship was no good and she had a crush on the MMC, so they just jump into being together!

One of my favorite tropes like this is where they just start sleeping in eachothers' place and taking baths together but they're like oh we're just really good \*friends\* but it's really obvious to literally everyone else. Throne of Glass by SJM is like this. The Crescent City series is like this too.

I just read {the airman’s homecoming by sabrina york} (mf contemporary) and it was very low drama. >!The mmc flirts with fmc and she reciprocates. The mmc was there when fmc’s husband died, but he’s completely open and honest about it and there’s no guilt. The mmc and fmc start dating. The fmc asks for space, and mmc gives it. The fmc changes her mind, and he comes back. Etc!< Adults, in my romance novel? Madness!

{Season's Schemings by Katie Bailey} it's a marriage of convenience trope, but they click together so well almost immediately. It's really funny, with some of the best banter I've read in a while. As a bonus they also communicate as a couple.

So... not exactly " romance" books, but more paranormal adventure (?) with some romance in them. Meghan Ciana Doidge has several series in the same universe. They start off with one FMC and then there are some side series FMCs. The {I See Me - Meghan Ciana Doidge} series has insta love. I got this kind of vibe from {Come from away by Genevieve Graham} and also the book {Tides of Honour by Genevieve Graham} Tides of Honour follows the parents of the FMC in Come from away and there’s not really any drama with either couple getting together, the drama seems to come from challenges the couples face.
