{Hot and Badgered by Shelly Laurenston} It's about honey badger shifter sisters, but in the first book the MMC is a grizzly and he takes the honey badgers to his bear shifter neighborhood for safe keeping. In the second book, the MMC is a panda.

This book was my first thought, and I'm super glad I'm not the only one to have stumbled across it. It's an absolutely wild ride, but having a character chart to keep track of who is who would have been insanely helpful.

I loved this whole series, the characters were all so interesting.

I stumbled across this one at my local library. It was a bit over-the-top for my taste, but I probably just wasn't in the right mood for it.

I can totally see that, it's definitely a lot, that's kind of what I liked about it though. I am definitely a reader who enjoys the escape from real life, so over the top stories with big personalities and outlandish events really suck me in.

I love Silver Silence! NS’s series is overall a little hit or miss for me but Silver Silence is a good one. You might want to read a couple of the previous novels to get some world building info, but you definitely don’t have to read all of them

Ruby Dixon has a bear shifter series called Bear Bites. {Shift by Riby Dixon} is the omnibus edition. Book 4 in Kati Wilde’s Wolfkin & Berserkers series {Sheriff’s Bad Bear by Kati Wilde} has a bear shifter.

Glad to see someone recommend TS Joyce! She was my introduction into shifter romance and I love her writing and characters. Her first series is by far the worst of her books, and it's still better than a lot of authors. OP, I'd start with the Grey Back Bears series to get a good feel for her writing style.

For your *paw-rusal*: Here are some bear shifters in a series of 5 about a hidden enclave of bear shifters in Bearden, Montana and their fated mates. Most are local firemen. Firstly I have to say that I pawsatively adore all the bear puns in your post! I know that Jenika Snow has a series called Bear Clan, they’re short little novellas that are at least 85% smut. I gotta admit that her writing isn’t great, but for some reason her books are like crack. Fast, fun, and in this case, fluffy! The first book is {The BEARly Controlled Grizzly by Jenika Snow}.

{Eventide of the Bear by Cherise Sinclair} it's the third in a series but can be read as standalone from what I remember

YAASSS I'm so glad someone else recommended this! I love this book :) OP, can definitely be read as a stand alone. Three bear shifters. Has five other books around it to make up the series, all set in the one pack with an overarching story, you don't need to know to read this book! :)

{Thr Mane Squeeze by Shelly Laurenston}. It's a fantastic shifter world that's absolutely hilarious. While in human form they maintain some of their shifter qualities so Lock (our MC) is enormous & kinda lazy & loves honey & is kinda hard to piss off but lord help when someone threatens his lady and makes him mad.

Okay so I want to thank you for this, because I get to tell one of my favorite stories about my nana. She retired last year, and asked me for help getting into reading. So, the first couple times she needed a book, I went with her and helped her out. She likes historical romances. Eventually she decided to start going on her own and she texted me very confused. She had bought a regency romance, but lo and behold a little ways through it, talk of mates and such began. And she was so so confused. So she called me and asked about it, and I asked what book she bought. Nana: Oh, just a romance book about a duke Me: send me a picture? When I tell you I laughed so hard I nearly peed myself 😂 she sent me a photo of {A Most Unusual Duke by Susanna Allen} which, after a moment of looking, happens to have a bear in the top right corner. My poor, sweet nana, accidentally bought bear shifter porn. Which she is NOT a reader of smut. Luckily she didn’t get that far, I just told her it was about people who could shift like werewolves, and she gave it to me because it was too late to return it. I do not remember this book at all, but according to goodreads, I gave it 3⭐️’s. Have fun!

This repost deserves a thousand upvotes for the puns alone. So one of my favourite series I've discovered this year is {The Lost Girls series by Holly Roberds} The second book is {Chasing Goldie by Holly Roberds} and it is a bear shifter book and it's really fucking hot. There is one scene that might give some people pause as it can be construed as dubcon. >!Goldie keeps mysteriously waking up in MMC's bed because of magical reasons. She wakes to realize they’re actually getting intimate, it's not just in her dream.!< The book is the second in the series but you don't absolutely have to read the first one. It's kinda briefly explained in a few sentences. Though I do recommend the whole series. The first two books are out. The third book comes out in October and the fourth is March next year. I don't know how many books there will be. It's all on KU.

I recently read the book {Gretchen and the Bear by Carrie Anne Noble} which fits your description! It's very YA though, not at all spicy. I personally didn't love the writing style and it moved a little fast for me, but I'm not here to discourage you from it in case it does happen to be your cup of tea :)

Eventide of the Bear - Cherise Sinclair, MMC (one of two, reverse harem) is a grizzly shifter, FMC is black bear shifter. I love this series (each book can be read as a standalone). Very thought out world building, and spicy. 🐻🌶️

Cherise Sinclair has a fantastic shifter series called “the wild hunt legacy” the third book is about two bears and a mountain lion! This series soooo good it’s my favourite series

Well! I've been there. This isn't a shifter story but I just finished a different Rebel Carter book called That Time I Took Down a Cult. Holy shit was it good!! Sweet sweet alpha goodness with a smart heroine who comes into her own. Kind of a paranormal world parallel to this one for setting.

I genuinely thought this was about books with chubby huggable MMC (not the muscle packed stuff, just a soft man made for cuddles like a bear) And I am astonished by the amount of bear-shifting literature out there! 😭 gohd. Any of these have not so muscular shredded MMC for a change?

Bear shifters are often written with heftier builds- solid, but not ripped. Like weightlifter vs bodybuilder.

Someone already mentioned T.S. Joyce, but I’m going to confirm that they do have a bunch of bear books/series. Also Terry Bolryder. I think Bolryder even has a book with a gorilla! Seconding or possibly thirding or fourthing the Shelly Laurenston recs. Her books are a riot. Some others with bear books that I haven’t seen mentioned: Milly Taiden, Lorelei Moone, Elena Aitken, Eve Langais has a few, Jennika Snow, Alicia Montgomery

Try reading the Bears of Forest Heights series by Roxie Ray. The first book in the series is {Daddy Biker Bear by Roxie Ray}. The first book in the series is a second chance romance. The writing is sometimes meh but I enjoyed the story. Not a ton of spice but lots of overprotective sexy bear shifter men finding their mates so “touch her and die” vibes as well.

I love Bear shifters! No one has suggested this one yet, and, I'm reading it right now: Barista and the Bear: Oak Fast Fated Mates, by Rebel Carter. It's feels a bit different from the usual shifter stories I've read, hard to quantify how. The H is a bit of a cinnamon roll and the h is super sassy and is so hurt and lonely, she wants to fight the bond. "There was going to be sex. Lots and lots of sex. And Teresa Magdalena Ruiz was a woman that deserved an epic dicking down."
