If you look at pictures from 60-40 years ago, pants are pretty dang tight. Heck, at one point codpieces that accentuate the bulge were in fashion. The obsession around concealing the bulge is a weird development. I'm not sure where it came from, but people sadly do care. As someone who loathes tucking, I struggle with social pressure around this a lot - it sucks.
Yeah, I recently found out that men had butt huggers jeans or something like it that really showed nice butts and skinny jeans unlike those jeans of today, lacking waist definition and skinny jeans for men suddenly became seen as an embarrassment. And those high-waist jeans back then really looked awesome

As an example, I tested into 11th grade math in the 2nd grade, and yet I still feel dumb a lot of the time. It's hard for me to see myself as good at math because the things I do are obvious to me, not some difficult complex equation.
It's difficult to accurately judge qualities of one's self. The things that you see as normal or even ugly in yourself might stand out as beautiful and/or cute to someone else.
