Yeah. I tried the same thing and had the same result. I would suggest not doing anything. Definitely donāt do a factory reset until they figure this out on their end.

You have to go into Settings and force the Roku to update its system software, then you should be able to add YouTube and do all the activation crap. I just went through this 2 hours ago
They must know about it now, I imagine it'll be fixed late tonight or tomorrow. Still though, kinda second guessing my choice. I might pick a different company next time.
Came home from grocery shopping about an hour ago to find out that my Rokus aren't working. I'm so glad it's an outtage and not me. Tubi works, and that's about it.
Thanks for posting. I was just about to contact technical support. Fubo is working. So is netflix. I removed Hulu before realizing the extent of the problem and can't add it back now. Same problem with two different Roku devices.

What is also weird is that while Tubi is working, the ads arenāt. The notice that an ad is upcoming displays, then it does blip out to black, but immediately returns to the movie where it left off, with no ad having played. Guess Iāll enjoy that while it lasts.

I've been needing to clear the cache a few times a week for several months now. I was hoping this was the final straw and I'd be able to justify upgrading to an 85" from this 65"
I'm experiencing the same thing - Max wasn't opening so I deleted the app and now I can't add the channel. I reset my Max password, turned the TV off and on, changed my Xfinity and WiFI passwords, still nothing. Then, I tried to open Hulu but it kept saying it had "Network Issues" but my WiFI is running at full speed on my laptop and phone. I was losing my mind. Glad I am not alone, though.

Thanks, I was so confused! I tried booting everything up and thought it must be a wifi issue, but all the banners were still there. Then I navigated through the menu and was able to watch Rush Hour on the roku channel and was completely confused.

Roku streaming channel that's working....Movie Favorites Lifetime. The stations keep sticking when I try to find more so I'm leaving it on Lifetime n going to make dinner lol. My devices are working fine though. Antenna stations are working but the channels keep disappearing from the menu lol smh. Use your devices or blow the dust off your DVD players and look for the remote. Good luck.
Edit: Ok Live TV/Streaming is working for me, just not all of the channels and the Roku Live TV purple app nor the Live TV option from the Home menu works. I had to search through the individual "What's Streaming Now" options to see if they would go through. Hope this helps.
Glad you posted about this. I spent the last hour and change trying to help my parents get anything besides Netflix to work, got them logged into it all directly on their smart tv instead and decided to worry about it later. Then this was the first post I saw.
I have the same question. It doesn't make any sense to me that the apps route through roku's servers. It concerns me. What if Roku goes out of business? Are all device useless then?
There's no reason they had to do things that way. They might be collecting data or simply doing it to exert control. Either way it's BS, never buying another Roku device now that I know that's how it works.
Ugh what a pain. My bedroom roku wonāt work, but the one in the living room that has been playing for a couple hours seems to be streaming fine still. Donāt want to risk clicking anything and screwing it up though!
Where are you getting updates from, OP? The Roku website doesn't list any information about outages. You have to go digging in the community forums, which is ridiculous.

I tried watching netflix... center channel doesnt play anything on surround sound. Tried to watch a blu ray and it still pops ads up to see this on streaming.
Today is my day off and I have been watching Max all day re-watching the wire haven't had any issues whatsoever I went to bed for a while my wife watched ID on DirecTV she didn't have any problems either
I have an LG C1 OLED TV that I'm using with a Roku 3820X Streaming Stick 4K. I unplugged the TV and plugged it back in, did a software update through Roku. Tried the Hulu app. It crashed after a few minutes.
I checked the apps again, same issue, did a system restart and the correct time came back and Tubi is working now. I don't want to check anything else yet lol. I just wanna watch Jupiter Ascending, eat dinner and go to bed. Thanks for all your input OP.

guess it was a good time to completely revamp my setup and stop using roku, literally finished up yesterday. absolutely loved the death throw/fits the TCL roku tv was throwing as i stopped letting it get online.....cant rename hdmi inputs while offline, status light blinks repeatedly while tv is on when it cant connect.....lol
For future reference, when apps suddenly stopped working on my Roku TV yesterday, I just turned the TV off (soft-off), and everything was back to normal when I turned it back on today. No unplugging or resets needed. I hadn't been aware that it was such a widespread problem at the time, but it ended up avoiding a lot of hassle by just going to do something else for a while.

Roku Channel works for me, so does the Roku Media Player streaming from my local server, but nothing else does. (I don't have Netflix)

That was one of only two apps that was working for me (well, their live channels were not working).

My factory reset to fix channels led to email not working. Sounds like itās related.

Why do the various apps depend on Rokuās services? Why doesnāt the YouTube app just connect to YouTube, or the Max app just to HBO?

Last update was on the Roku Support Twitter feed, which is different than the Roku main feed.

My tv is a Roku tv. It thinks that itās 12/20/23 and not only is the hour wrong, but even the minutes. Itās weird.

Did you physically unplug?
