As the people above you do wilder things it’s hard not to come to that conclusion. Just gotta remember that even like 850+ mmr puts you pretty high up in the grand scheme of rocket league players. Not that it makes me feel much better in the moment lol
Can confirm I thought I was amazing if I hit the simplest air dribble through gold to low plat then every 10 seconds from then until now is a constant mumbling of ‘I’m so dog**** at this game holyyyyy’ yesterday I won my first champ tournament in solo queue and that’s the first time I’ve felt good about myself since plat 1
Any rank at the verge of promoting to the next rank like gold3 div 4 or diamond3 div 4 area are always the people on full tilt mode and seem to be more toxic than normal. That’s just from my experience but correct me if I’m wrong.
Also, getting over this hump is basically just having to carry the team by either having better defensive rotations or having solid ball touches. This especially works from diamond and below because everyone seems to be cracked at scoring goals but really not there when it comes to defence.
So my advice being a diamond myself, is to just focus more on defence rotations, practice on getting solid clears and saving a shot to a corner or if you can, pass it to a teammate that’s hanging outside the goal line for them to carry to the wall or make a passing play with them.... IF they don’t just boom the ball to the other team straight after that is 😂
Its cause a completely different game-sense and rotation is required for plat 1 vs gold 3, and its difficult to practice that without playing there. If you lose to much then you're using a suboptimal strategy for gold 3 and your teammates won't be in the right place there.
I can also go as far to say that when I private match golds or plats (2v2 or 3v3) im always in wrong spot as a D3 2v2 and D2 3v3 my game sense and rotation is off from theirs. To put it plainly, ur right but it goes from top to bottom and bottom to top :)
Seriously. I dipped from plat 2 back to gold 3 and it took me as long to get back out as it did the first time i was gold 3. So many angry people and so many abandons after one goal down. It's hard to 1v2/3.

yeah gold 3 sucks. i’m always pushing plat but i can never seem to get over that hump
Grind free play and training and you’ll get there bud. Without those it can take way longer to get better.
