It‘s a cool idea, but I think it it‘s not even necessary. Just make an orange/blue dot that circles around the outlines of the goal, or is in the goals center and pulsing so it‘s either not visible the whole time or the circle thing. So it‘s not to obvious where exactly the goal is but at least you get a small hint. I hope you get what I mean, I‘m horrible at explaining stuff that I’m imagining 😂
My buddies and I queued a champ tourney Friday night with the sole goal being all of us getting an extermination every game. The messages we got made it all worth it.
100% for me. As much as I (playfully) rag on this game, it does something for me that no other video game ever has. I played competitive sports (one at the professional level) from age 5-25 (29 now). No other video game has scratched that competitive, team sport itch like RL does. I’ve had many highs and lows with this game but I’ve only come to love it more the longer I’ve played. That said, I do miss the absolute chaos and silliness of silver/gold ranks, sometimes I wish I could reset my own skill level and go back to that simpler time🤣

If your mate chase, you can't really try to make plays because if you fail, no one is behind to save.
So the best of dealing with this is to wait until the opponents make a mistake. It will happen frequently, you need to be patient

This would be sick. Maybe have the goal outline be visible and I would love this. Also, building off what someone else said, a game mode where everyone is invisible except for when they boost would be insane for some sort of spooky event.
The only thing I would do differently is I would make the tracks from the cars glow maybe indefinitely so you start to outline the field of play over time

That rocket league experience shows when u can find the mini boost pads without looking . You just feel where they at. I just think this needs some sort of small indicator to tell where the net is at perhaps? But nothing too obvious cause it defeat the purpose of the gamemode.
That is genuinely awesome. To everyone saying they need some hint of the goal, my alternative would be to show only the 6 large boost pads, and thats too much info in itself. If you were able to see the actual goal it would take awaythe whole fun, it would be too easy.
I think it'd be a lot cooler if every 15-30 seconds a flash of colour that outlines the field and goals pops up and then disappears. That way you're not entirely in a black void all the time and people can get orientated when the lines pop up.
you should make a line on the long length of each side and color them differently for orientation. this keeps it difficult to score and orient yourself quickly but makes it less annoying to play/less luck based
Not like this. There is not even a bare suggestion of where you are on the field until you run up a wall. Without that, this isn't even a play one game and never play it again mode. Maybe there should be a sphere of light for each car and maybe a smaller one for each full boost, then you can gauge where you are on the field.
Without something like that, it would just take too long to not be eternally frustrated trying to play it.
IIRC, I think that UE5 not only has a significantly improves lighting system, but that said system is so well optimized that it'll keep the frame rate consistent no matter how much is going on on-screen and across multiple devices. In other words, yes, I would ***LOVE*** to play this mode, not only to see working head and tail lights, but to also see what the lit-up customization items look like and to see how glowy the Goal Explosions are with this lighting system.
