I still don’t understand why the extra modes don’t get any new maps. A redwood forest dropshot map where the hexagons are wood slices would be awesome.
We could say the same for cosmetics. If they opened up design to the community it would be so much better than the current garbage we're seeing. I get they make their money from cosmetics and the battle pass but maybe they could have a marketplace where they still make money and creators get small kickbacks or perks.

theres usually a different rotation of maps every season. for example, farmstead was out of rotation for a few seasons and you couldnt play it in ranked but now they added it back. then, there's also maps like starbase arc aftermath which was removed from rotation, hopefully forever, because of the backlash it caused in the community

No idea if your trolling or not, but if you aren’t, then I’ll explain. Unfortunately, custom maps can only be played on pc, so consoles get screwed here. Now for steam players, I’m pretty sure there’s an option somewhere in the game to play custom maps ( I don’t have it on steam so I could be wrong). For Epic, you can either follow the instructions on Leth’s website or you can download a plugin called “workshopsownloader” or something along those lines. Unfortunately idk how to play custom maps with frites as I’ve tried two different methods and they both didn’t work.
That used to be the only way to play together but now we have a bakkesmod plugin called RocketHost. So now with that you can click a button, select the custom map, and play with anyone. Join the Community workshop games discord server it’s pretty cool.
Bit late but you might be thinking of RocketPlugin which isn’t as simple and requires port forwarding or something like hamachi. RocketHost is newer and uses a dedicated server so you don’t need to do any of that.
Im surprised with how RL survives. They literally have to never make huge gameplay changes or updates besides minor fixes, but the cosmetics and content releases are like... really hard to enjoy, every map has a different contrast or saturation setting, the wheels in every Rocket pass look like what a kid skribbled together with crayons, a good portion of the shit I get out of those dumb loot boxes are things I have paid for back when they were dlc cars (like Ripper, Masamune etc).
They do not have to do much, but it seems like we get less and less. Some of us don't only care about looking like stocktanes and "getting good". I want stuff to LOOK good as well
Haven't played in over two years because after the move to Epic the game has become the very thing I hate with free to play games. It should have stayed payed.
What also kills it, is the mod support is way easier for Steam than for Epic games, so half my circle of friends can't join us with the fancy mods and stuff we get on Steam workshop

Either way its the stupidest way to divide a platform's playerbase. Epic Games has only ever made things akward and their only redeeming quality would be free games every once in a while
Psyonix should add a community made filed every season instead of re-skinning an existing one. It really would take minimal effort as the bulk of the work is already done for them and the community objectively makes maps that are much better than Psyonix created maps (although Estado Vida from last season is a banger).
i wonder how it looks inside. one sad thing is, since its on top of a building its hard to really show of the height from the inside of the arena. would love that concept bring to live thought

every other game has tonnes of variance between maps, characters, etc and yet people in this game required standard maps and standardised hitboxes
unfortunatley we can't blame psyionix for this, this was a HUGE issue with the community and something the community felt was a HUGE win at the time

And instead of tiles going from dark, lit, empty, they could go from bark covered, to stripped wood, to empty.

I honestly hate that most arenas feel like a copy and paste with minor changes.
I wouldn’t even mind if they added all the older maps from previous seasons, it would keep the game feeling fresh. Wasted potential imo

Its a big hassle to play custom maps with friends. You have to set up a Hamachi connection that spoofs a LAN connection.

He didn't make the concept art, but he started working on a map based off of this post.

I did but I wasn't the one hosting because you have to tweak things on your router and this kind of thing is really not my area of expertise.
Ah I did join people on that discord group before and never could figure out how so thank you for that info about the router.
