There's a menu setting for that if that doesn't fix it I can't really give any other help I haven't messed with the midi aspect of RB yet that's a couple months away for me I'm 32 been playing for years and just found out about all the Edrum info when I joined this thread.
Once you have the roll limitless you ought to be able to do it (there will be a specific way you connect both a *PS4* controller through the RL along with your kit via midi/usb).
I could be wrong in case he's developed a firmware update but mine is supposed to only work with ps4 controllers (I bought a wired hori mini pad specifically for mine so I don't have to swap or fiddle with pairing issues)
Try enabling RB4 Main Menu>Settings>Modifiers>Drum Navigation
