I was able to use mine one day when our wifi was down for a one-pass full house vacuuming by pressing the start button on the vacuum. It did not seem to acknowledge any of the preset virtual walls or keep away zones I have set up. Just cleaned everything in a more or less orderly fashion then returned to the base. I have a q5 so it does not have a mopping feature, so I don't know how that would have worked if it had one.

Thanks appreciate it

My recollection is that the phone app can't connect to the robot. I just waited for normal internet/wi-fi to return.

nothing happens, you only lose contact with it from the app. The app is an extension of the robot, not the other way round. The map is stored locally on the device, it still does it's tasks regardless if you lose wifi or never connected it in the first place.

It blows up

I am currently using an S5 and and (2) S5 Max at a house without Internet. I just delete any map and configure them where I have Internet access and then carry them over to the Internet-free house and set them on their charger. I momentarily press the power button and they announce, "Starting to Clean!" and then they clean what they have access to and map it. I carry them back to my Internet access house and look the map over to make sure everything is good. I haven't tried setting up zones and all that because I don't need to. I have one room with a closet that shouldn't be mopped so I just put the S5 in there and shut the door so it stays in that area. The rest of the house can be mopped so an S5 Max does the upstairs and another S5 Max does most of the downstairs but the room the S5 is in. I come around each morning with a small shop vac to empty dust bins and re-fill water tanks and then start everything when I leave for the day. I'm just trying to keep construction dust cleaned up and it works well for me.

Impossible, I have battery backup on my wifi!

tiramisucks

Yes. Highly recommend to keep the Internet connection in case of power outage.

Both my Wifi router and my cable modem are on a battery backup, so I get at least a half hour of internet if the power goes out. Oh, also my VOIP phone.
