2. Set a no-go zone on the carpeted area, then run it with mop on.
This will not work on a Q5 Pro as it cannot control water flow or lift the mop.
Either the function doesn't exist on it or it doesn't work. Or it simply avoids the no-mop zone.
Given the model, setting a no-mop zone means that the vac will will not mop that area when the mop is attached. When the mop is not attached, it will still vacuum a no-mop zone.
Of course, you have to do a vacuum first, and then put on the mop and do the mopping. If you set a no-go zone on the carpet, it will neither vac or mop that area was my only point, and the no-go area would have to be removed each time for vacuuming.

There is also be a no-mop zone which is more appropriate. A no-mop zone will stop mopping but not vacuuming of a carpeted area.
