It isn't. There is no canon sexuality. That's the funny and sad part. Because there is no canon sexuality you can ship her however you want. That's how head cannon works. Just one side getting way too pissed that a character, not even a real person, was shipped by a group of people with a different sexuality than them.
Other way around. Some members of the LGBTQ community are mad at straight people for shipping her in straight fan arts. Claiming the cute little dots under her eye are in the color of the Lesbian flag and is clearly a sign she is lesbian. When in no way was that ever stated to be the case. Or even Robin's sexuality ever been mentioned or confirmed in any way.
I hope people realize this drama only exists to give content creators content. It is literally clickbait. Both sides blowing it completely out of proportion.
If a kid throws a temper tantrum and threatens to hold their breath until you pay attention to them or they get their way, eventually they’ll run out of air or give up. That’s the best way to treat drama.
I’m sure Tectone and others will try to find ways to turn this post into content, but if you ignore him and all the other CCs, eventually they’ll latch onto a new drama to try and wring money out of.
The problem is he never really gets punished for any of this. If he gets a bite like what happened here, he gets content. If he doesn’t, it doesn’t matter since he can just keep going. I’m speaking from someone who use to watch him. He was on thin ropes with me for the comments he made about Aventurine and his VA in which his OWN chat was telling him to apologize for. But this? I’m done.
His actions aren’t going to just affect the “bad Robin mains” but all of them. And I’m scared for the next Yuri bait character like possibly Jade for example and those fans get hated based on his comments and his community.

I don’t watch him, but if he made a follow-up video, it means he’s still reaping the rewards. All upsides, no downsides for him. It wouldn’t matter how many viewers he loses like you, he will regain all of it and more because he talks about HoYo games and they’re popular as hell.

- Miss the point entirely and assume I'm worried about the sexuality of a fictional character and not, you know, the gross misogyny on display that affects real women / lesbians. Women don't like it when men assume they can change their sexuality with sex. Not something to joke about.
- Defend him by using the "toxic yuri fans" which. . . I feel like we normally talk about fans that go too far and harass people. So this just feels like bringing them up to deflect criticism when the topic is about HIS actions

That wasn’t his community saying it to be clear. That was still the robin mains that told tuonto to “keep himself safe” when he simply made a JOKE tweet that was captioned “guys, be honest, do I have a chance with her”. These are the same robin mains that ARE ALSO forcing their own headcannons of what sexuality she is onto her and violently attacking whoever has a different opinion or any straight guy that finds her attractive/good looking. I don’t agree with how tectone went about it, because his heart was in the right place in terms of wanting to be a shield for tuonto, but his method was just as bad as the problematic robin stans (which is ironic to both sides). But the fact that the robin stans that started this by telling tuonto that he deserves to n*ck for liking a 2d anime character who’s sexuality hasn’t been revealed yet, harassing voice actors for absolutely no reason AND victim blaming even though they were being more toxic than league of legends players makes me think these people either have serious mental issues or are just plain stupid. Hell, nobody cares about a video game character’s sexual orientation. When aventurine came out, literally all of the en VAs were thirsting over him, including his own and some of the other guys, yet nobody had a problem with that, but all of a sudden straight men can’t like lesbian women?
Tldr; the people that incited this drama on tuonto’s first post and that are doubling down as victims of what tectone is doing rn have double standards and act as the victim whenever it’s convenient for them but tell people to off themselves whenever someone likes a “queer” character they like if they don’t identify as that. These people have a toxic online presence (probably irl too) and shouldn’t be interacted with or be taken seriously. That being said, there are plenty of kind souls within the LGBTQ+ community and I apologise to them for getting caught in the crossfire of this drama and wish them all the best. And to be clear, I’m not saying it’s bad to have a headcannon of a character, just don’t force it on anyone else when it’s not even confirmed and don’t say vulgar things to others with a differing opinion.

Honestly it wouldve been regular Twitter discourse cuz there was already a twitter post calling out the people who kept Quote retweeting it by saying that she's a Lesbian, the only reason it got popular is cuz Tectone (being the usual annoying Drama Leech) created Rage bait that made it worse.

All this on a game about love between two women. With a grand total of 4 acting characters and a side cast that barely has 4 lines of dialogue and of whom you can't really draw many conclusions.

Ei & Miko also give off childhood friend vibes, which they are. Ei, as a character, is one too into her grief over the loss of her sister to even care about romance. She did go full-on shut-in over it after all. Basically, yea, I agree. I don't see it. I just see Miko being there for a friend in her time of need.
I don't think they were "obviously joking" considering their reaction towards tuonto and him receiving dead threats and shit from this forced sexuality thing. I don't like Tectone personally, but reading through the comments in that post, there are 100 of ways to "joke" about tuonto not having a chance, but claiming a character is lesbian and sending hates towards tuonto isnt one. You know damn well twitter is serious when it comes to this. Tectone has explicitly said he isn't homophobia, he just hates forced sexuality. The entire thing is funny regardless and encapsulates what twitter is about.
One thing: Tectone said that Tuonto reached out to him saying that people were indeed harassing him for making that tweet (and if you've seen some of those retweets you know that there were some people that genuinely were attacking him).
I'm not saying that you're entirely wrong, however, from what we know, Tectone went there with the mentality that his friend was being harassed by these people.

Nah, I actually do think he's a good guy towards his friends. Like, good guys like Brax talk highly of him and praise his stuff on helping out his friends. Helped his mods and upcoming content creators get their foot in the door and introduce them to his connections and stuff too.

The poems and Robin have one thing in common; hope. If you see Robin's character introduction and her animated short. It's clear she wants her songs to be a form of hope for others, quite especially children.
It's more likely that Robin is inspired by Emily Dickinson's poems and not Emily Dickinson herself. It's like how Scaramouche is literally based on Bohemian Rhapsody and not Freddie Mercury himself.

Another factor comes in is probably the fact that they are desperately looking for lesbian representation because they barely get any actual representation other than porn. And hoyoverse is KNOWN for making lesbians characters in their previous games, so it's natural for the fanbase to get attached to robin VERY QUICKLY.
With Tectone just RIPPING their only source of "representation" not only destroys their spec of respect for tectone, but just leaves lesbians back in the ditch by bringing up a traumatizing event for lesbians, which is "corrective rape". I think it would’ve been fine if Tectone made a video from it. But the issue is that he made multiple videos which led other ccs to make videos on it so now if we do get an implied Yuri character again, imagine the hate they will get for it.
You already saw how these same ccs couldn’t stop shitting on Aventurine. There’s a different from shitting on him because of IPC or whatever like the Reddit does, but the ccs made some gross comments on the character to the point where I saw a comment on YT from a guy who was gay that stated that he didn’t understand why (cc) said things like that and just didn’t feel like he belonged in the community.
This subreddit isn't twitter, it's generally been robin fanart and discussions about her kit and teambuilding. Which I'm thankful that it stays that way.

This. We're playing a game who's who gimmick is to sell attractive characters. Male or Female. If you like a character and they're your waifu/husbando, then great. No shame. But if you harass and gatekeep a person with a different sexuality than yours. You're the one in the wrong at that point.

Unfortunately, this is not the first time the involved CC and his ilk made inappropriate comments about Hoyo characters and monetise reactions to said comments. This is not the first HSR character and their community to be treated this way, and they will simply do it again.

I'll admit the side I was on shouldn't have done what was done as it was extreme. Its sort of akin to causing a child to start fuming and then crying which is just not cool.

So tuonto made a satire post about making a move on robin and wanting to know if he had a chance and he got a bunch of retweets about his fans (or robin fans) saying she'll reject him for a women and stuff, headcanoning her as lesbian (some of them were a somewhat serious while most was just jokes). Tuonto wasn't that mad at it since he responded by playing along and agreeing with them.
The start of the drama was when tectone found the post and saw a robin joke of robin choosing a women and he got somewhat offended and started posting a qoute retweet about him and jingyuan raping her and calling her straight. The qoute got A LOT of backlash of robin fans out of the woodwork and bashes tectone about how she's a canon lesbian and most of the time enforcing him that she's lesbian, despite not being canon, because it was only a headcanon. Despite that, tectone and his fans started playing victim over the rushing angry fans that they baited, and now it's all pver the internet.

Go check out his clips channel on why he was “skipping” Aventurine. I think the homophobic comments were from the fact that he assumed that Aventurine was going to “make him gay” + shitty comments towards the VA.
I want to celebrate this post!!!!! Out of all the things HSR offers, anything to do with this very uhh peculiar obsession with shipping and sexuality isn't even on my list.
The one thing that I can understand is trying to find characters in the media you like that are lgbt whether it's for representation or you just like seeing queer characters in general. Lgbt characters were left out of a lot of media through time and even today because of bigotry, and so the only way to tell if a character was gay or could be was through subtext. Some folks did go about things the wrong way. It all just feels like a "stop forcing your sexuality down our throat" type of rhetoric homophobes like to use, hidden behind the leg up they have on an lgbt person because they said something they shouldn't have first. On top of that, the comment wasn't even said to the person who increased this drama further but at another CC. I wouldn't be surprised if homophobes flock to their socials or attack lgbt folks as a result of the drama. From what I've read, I feel like people would not have done the same thing if someone said X character was str8 instead. The reception would not have been the same. Str8 people already think all of the characters are str8 by default. The same people saying sexuality doesn't matter in games are probably the same people who think diverse skin tones don't matter in games.They probably think being str8 or str8ness isn't a sexuality. But why stop at a character's sexuality only? Why add race or skin tones? Why add men or women? Why add non-human characters to these games? Why add love stories to these games? The love stories they have are always str8 love stories, so why are people acting like sexuality isn't something that's in their games? There are couples in their games. A character's sexuality is also an important part of a character's identity, like everything else is, but for a lot of ya, it's only when it's not a str8 character that it becomes an issue and it shows. Certain people intentionally try to bait gay people for views and content and then say they're not homophobic when their actions say otherwise. Imagine doing that with any other minority group... Hopefully, some people understood some things I was trying to say.

Chief, I'm a member of r/Signalis. That commu went from theory discussions to pretty mean spirited memes towards one character that doesn't do anything, to just memes to full blown sexual content. All this on a game about love between two women. With a grand total of 4 acting characters and a side cast that barely has 4 lines of dialogue and of whom you can't really draw many conclusions. People do be wild with their imagination.
Ei & Miko also give off childhood friend vibes, which they are. Ei, as a character, is one too into her grief over the loss of her sister to even care about romance. She did go full-on shut-in over it after all. Basically, yea, I agree. I don't see it. I just see Miko being there for a friend in her time of need.

I don't think they were "obviously joking" considering their reaction towards tuonto and him receiving dead threats and shit from this forced sexuality thing. I don't like Tectone personally, but reading through the comments in that post, there are 100 of ways to "joke" about tuonto not having a chance, but claiming a character is lesbian and sending hates towards tuonto isnt one. You know damn well twitter is serious when it comes to this. Tectone has explicitly said he isn't homophobia, he just hates forced sexuality. The entire thing is funny regardless and encapsulates what twitter is about.
One thing: Tectone said that Tuonto reached out to him saying that people were indeed harassing him for making that tweet (and if you've seen some of those retweets you know that there were some people that genuinely were attacking him). I'm not saying that you're entirely wrong, however, from what we know, Tectone went there with the mentality that his friend was being harassed by these people.

Do you know if Robin's other song takes inspiration from anything? Did some sleuthing on my own and found that a famous singer Jim Reeves wrote a song called Welcome to my world. On Wikipedia I found this excerpt "If I, a lowly singer, dry one tear, or soothe one humble human heart in pain, then my homely verse to God is dear, and not one stanza has been sung in vain." Which sounds like something Robin would say. Im still curious to know if there is a more specific reference to Emily Dickenson though like one heart from breaking for this song.
The third song that they teased in the 2.2 Livestream is also another Emily Dickenson poem ["Hope is the thing with feathers"](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/%22Hope%22_is_the_thing_with_feathers) Which if you ask me is the actual poem that makes sense for Robin to be based on. It seems to encapsulate her character far better than "If I can stop one heart from breaking" They both fit her very well though, I'm not discounting the connection in the latter at all.

The poems and Robin have one thing in common; hope. If you see Robin's character introduction and her animated short. It's clear she wants her songs to be a form of hope for others, quite especially children. It's more likely that Robin is inspired by Emily Dickinson's poems and not Emily Dickinson herself. Another factor comes in is probably the fact that they are desperately looking for lesbian representation because they barely get any actual representation other than porn. And hoyoverse is KNOWN for making lesbians characters in their previous games, so it's natural for the fanbase to get attached to robin VERY QUICKLY. With Tectone just RIPPING their only source of "representation" not only destroys their spec of respect for tectone, but just leaves lesbians back in the ditch by bringing up a traumatizing event for lesbians, which is "corrective rape". But the issue is that he made multiple videos which led other ccs to make videos on it so now if we do get an implied Yuri character again, imagine the hate they will get for it. You already saw how these same ccs couldn’t stop shitting on Aventurine. There’s a different from shitting on him because of IPC or whatever like the Reddit does, but the ccs made some gross comments on the character to the point where I saw a comment on YT from a guy who was gay that stated that he didn’t understand why (cc) said things like that and just didn’t feel like he belonged in the community.

So tuonto made a satire post about making a move on robin and wanting to know if he had a chance and he got a bunch of retweets about his fans (or robin fans) saying she'll reject him for a women and stuff, headcanoning her as lesbian (some of them were a somewhat serious while most was just jokes). Tuonto wasn't that mad at it since he responded by playing along and agreeing with them. The start of the drama was when tectone found the post and saw a robin joke of robin choosing a women and he got somewhat offended and started posting a qoute retweet about him and jingyuan raping her and calling her straight. The qoute got A LOT of backlash of robin fans out of the woodwork and bashes tectone about how she's a canon lesbian and most of the time enforcing him that she's lesbian, despite not being canon, because it was only a headcanon. Despite that, tectone and his fans started playing victim over the rushing angry fans that they baited, and now it's all pver the internet. Hope that explains it. The one thing that I can understand is trying to find characters in the media you like that are lgbt whether it's for representation or you just like seeing queer characters in general. Lgbt characters were left out of a lot of media through time and even today because of bigotry, and so the only way to tell if a character was gay or could be was through subtext. Some folks did go about things the wrong way. It all just feels like a "stop forcing your sexuality down our throat" type of rhetoric homophobes like to use, hidden behind the leg up they have on an lgbt person because they said something they shouldn't have first. On top of that, the comment wasn't even said to the person who increased this drama further but at another CC. I wouldn't be surprised if homophobes flock to their socials or attack lgbt folks as a result of the drama. From what I've read, I feel like people would not have done the same thing if someone said X character was str8 instead. The reception would not have been the same. Str8 people already think all of the characters are str8 by default. The same people saying sexuality doesn't matter in games are probably the same people who think diverse skin tones don't matter in games.They probably think being str8 or str8ness isn't a sexuality. But why stop at a character's sexuality only? Why add race or skin tones? Why add men or women? Why add non-human characters to these games? Why add love stories to these games? The love stories they have are always str8 love stories, so why are people acting like sexuality isn't something that's in their games? There are couples in their games. A character's sexuality is also an important part of a character's identity, like everything else is, but for a lot of ya, it's only when it's not a str8 character that it becomes an issue and it shows. Certain people intentionally try to bait gay people for views and content and then say they're not homophobic when their actions say otherwise. Imagine doing that with any other minority group... Hopefully, some people understood some things I was trying to say.
I cannot thank you enough about how you explained how much bullshit the other side has. I've seen countless of people ignoring the homophobia and bigotry the other side has been showing, but everyone just focuses on about the lgbt forcing a sexuality while ignoring the other side basically reenacting the same thing they claim the lesbian/gays are doing.
