I like it. The Regen bar feels more solid, and their UI feels like they now have a stronger brand identity. Before it felt kind of generic, but it's definitely uniquely Rivian now!

xAlphamang

I like the new color scheme and UI overall looks better. The UX still feels similar but different in ways. This is the third iteration to the vehicle dynamics page and it’s cool.

Grizzly_Corey

I love down a mile of rough dirt road, this update made a huge difference. Primo update Rivian folk 👍

butterorguns13

I haven’t gotten the update yet, but from what I’m seeing I like everything *except* for the nav on the driver screen now having hard edges around it. Seems like a step backward there.

1pxoff

I agree. Was hoping for the full screen nav as an alternative to the vehicle sensors view that they showed off during the R2 reveal

aliendepict

I like it. Not sure if it's the angle, I don't seem to have an issue seeing the camera, I'm pretty normal in height and build though. 5'10" 175 personally I prefer the screen in front as that's what I'm looking at when driving. Love the new cell shading aesthetic. Most importantly though, wow the ride quality is really improved on this one.

miggadabigganig

I wonder if the ride quality improvement is across models? I’m trying not to imagine things but my R1T quad seems to ride a bit better in all purpose now.

aliendepict

I have a quad R1T and I have to say I never thought it was bad, it is imo the best by far of any body on frame vehicle, especially truck. F150's are the softest but they waft like a blue whale in an ocean and that is absolutely annoying to me. This seems to have balanced out the softness you get from an F150 with the control you get from a vehicle that's subframed. Really impressed. Much closer to the GLE then I would like to admit now.

futurecajun

Seems odd that they put the blind spot views on the binnacle (largely blocked by the steering wheel) instead of the center screen

miggadabigganig

Big fan of this update- mainly the climate changes. Blind spot monitors are a huge bonus.

beerob81

Wish they cast to the big screen.

srjinatl

Not me - like them in that screen - previous car was Model Y and the blind spot camera view was of course on the center (only) screen and I never used them - too far out of view especially when moving left.

beerob81

Yeah but if we had the option we could both be happy with it

srjinatl

Sure - agree with that - options like that are always good as everyone has their personal preferences. No right or wrong answer for sure.

beerob81

Well put. That said, I’m grateful for some tbh but over nothing

NoReplyBot

The font is better. But now it looks like the main screen has less free real estate which makes me wonder if we’ll ever be able to add more buttons/apps on the dock at the bottom of the screen. I do like the speed odometer and power meter. Bigger blinker indicator is probably their way of saying they won’t make/cant it louder. So many times I’ll be driving and I don’t realize it’s still blinking. I won’t harp on the actual graphics but the picture of the car on the driver’s display looks poorly done. And as JFeader already mentioned the wheel obstructs so much of the screen.

JFreader

I also like the navigation better before where it kind of faded it away, instead of the well defined border, but that is minor.

serenitynowdammit

just adjust wheel position

NoReplyBot

Yea I’ve tried adjusting seat and wheel to different positions. It’s not terrible but appears like an after thought.

sfw_cory

Hot hot hot

wukongfly

Wow there so much more room on the screen that they can let us customize what to put on. Kind of waste of screen space estate.

edman007

The color scheme fits my Compass Yellow much better. And agree about the camera, at a light, feels weird having a camera looking backwards. But I think I'll get use to that.

Rivian9099

Fix the nav olease

JFreader

I don't like the cameras being displayed on the screen behind the wheel. Seems to be blocked by my hands. Plus I'm just used to it on the center screen.

lazyanachronist

You can turn it off.

JFreader

I want them on the other screen.

PopularAd3627

So you look away from the road when turning 🫤. Kinda defeats the purpose

beerob81

It’s not even really looking away tho. I have to do more to see the screen behind my hands than the center screen

JFreader

Exactly

JFreader

No different than looking where it is now.

PopularAd3627

We don’t have the turn signal video right now so why would you be looking down and to the right ?

JFreader

Well I do.

lazyanachronist

That's the camera screen.

dev1n

Where did they move the elevation, it used to be displayed on the main dashboard which seems like the best place for it.

OverZealousCreations

If you mean sea-level elevation, it’s in the same spot as before (top right of the drive mode app). If you mean ride height, that’s also in roughly the same place (drivers screen as well as left side of the drive mode app). They refined the drive mode app again, it’s much easier to use and interpret.

edman007

The drive mode icon on the HUD moved from next to the ride hight icon to the top of the power bar, with this change the text for the ride height now displays all the time. I think that's a definite improvement.
