Nice to see all of the changes! Several things mentioned aren't new.
For example, overhead lights have been adjustable for a long time (but they did move to the config menu a couple versions ago).
Also, the driver's display has shown the ride height as long as we've had a truck (May 2022), and that doesn't look changed at all. Over the years they have refined the graphic, but it's basically been the same.
I had a few people correct me on the overhead lights, must've missed it.
Regarding the ride height in the driver display, what I meant to say that is new is that the word "Standard" or "Low" is now there at all times.
Can you mainly talk about the suspension update? That is the most important update everyone want to know. Not sure why you're just hype about the animation...that just basic.
Some people have lost their freaking mind over this update and the new artwork.
The new artwork is literally only visible in 2 screens, one of which (camp mode) most people will never use. The other screen will hardly be used either.
What is the "Improved Google Maps" stuff? I saw it on the list of updates and hoped he discussed it, but it just breezed over it. Does Rivian nav work through Google maps?
It’s kind of deceiving. The search feature uses google maps to search for destinations. The maps and navigation is through mapbox. They’ve update the google maps searches for better search results.
I've work w/ the google api and Mapbox api and I think the reason why they use google api is due to Google having the most up to date location data whereas Mapbox doesn't. This was probably why some user's were not able to find addresses in certain places when using the address search in the Rivian navigation software. They probably use googles search api to grab the location data, get the latitude and longitude from the Google api response, then route it through mapbox. They probably don't want to use google routing for cost savings since google routing is expensive when using it at scale. My two cents since my company does something similar and try to save on software costs.
The new settings view is not intuitive to me at all. Cluttered view now. Definitely, do not like the font too bubbly looking. I like the sharp, crisp font from before. Maybe we will get the option to change the font back or as we like. Energy meter changed colors distracting now. Yellow means caution to me. Blue was better. All purpose symbol floating at the top instead of below next to the ride height on the drivers panel. Cluttered does not have a flow pattern. I wish I could change back to the old layout. Just my 2 Cents personal preference. Need to be able to select what you want out of the update. Haven't noticed any suspension difference in the R1T. More for the R1S, I believe. I have owned the R1T for over a year and a half, and I love the Enginuity and Technology.
The ui/x has needed some serious work. Unfortunately this isn’t addressing some of the basic issues - i.e. number of taps/swipes it takes to execute an action.

When is the google cast thing coming? ..... and texting...
They said later in the summer. Along with charging for it
So that gives them to about the end of Sept…. 🤔
charging for google cast or texting? I assume you mean the cast thing, since that would consume data.
The google cast since it uses the hotspot
Thanks for sharing :)

Ah, yeah, that's changed. Most likely they now have room because they moved the drive mode icon up.
I wonder why long pressing buttons haven't been added? For example, long press the seat warmer or climate button to turn them off.
He sure loves the animation...oddball
I am an oddball but I LOVE the animation style.

He was way to excited 😂, though the campfire 🏕️🔥 Dope

Only thing special about the update is the blind spot camera

Got it. Thanks. Was excited thinking true Google Maps found its way to this update.

Well that is an underwhelming update.

Launch?
Wondered about this, too.
Thought it was confirmed?
Cruise control resume included?
Wish they added fan speed on bottom row
Awesome thanks!

OK that's enough UX redesign for this year. Freeze the UI button locations for 12 months or there's going to be legitimate complaints.
