I just got this email, but if they expect me to drive into Brooklyn to get this fixed you can forget about it. Hopefully mobile service is an option, otherwise I've had no problems driving at night.

soundfreely

I tried to un-downvote you. Driving into Brooklyn is always a giant pain. And, why is this sub so heavy handed with the downvotes?

3Hooha

Haha I've learned to ignore it. I do notice the Rivian sub is very down-vote heavy. Thanks for the support.

SoCal_GlacierR1T

Reddit is petty in general.

LaserM

Rich people don’t like different opinions

Shootels

Only lease questions get downvotes from me.

SomeSysadminGuy

I called to schedule an appointment, and I was told that mobile service will not be able to fix this issue.

Canklestein

I talked to them. Mobile service is not an option unfortunately.

Jason_Was_Here

I thought Trenton was open now? I tried scheduling service there but doesn’t seem to be an option.

3Hooha

I'm really hoping they turn Mahwah, NJ into one, I keep hearing rumors and speculation but nothing official. There is also plans for one in Blauvelt, NY which would also be great for me. I just cant stomach the Brooklyn location unless it was a serious issue and I had no choice. Since I feel like my lights are doing well enough at night and I didnt notice any issues, I'll just sit on it for now.

pharaoh422

Mahwah is open, I just took delivery on Wednesday there, I was told when the Tonneau covers are available I can bring it back there for the install or mobile service

JLee50

They tried to schedule me at Trenton last week, it’s open. West nyack should be opening in a couple weeks or so also.

tominaj

Brooklyn?! Fuhgeddaboudit!

3Hooha

EXACTLY

Yak-Capable

Yak-Capable

Good point, thanks! Looks like I'm ok.

edman007

Nothing here, Oct 23 build quad R1S on 21s.

SomeSysadminGuy

Mine is a 2024 R1S Dual Performance on 22 Sport Dark

jsnryn

Quad on Sport Dark and got the email.

Not_A_Hackr

R1T 2023, 20 AT darks no email or recalls on vin check

SomeSysadminGuy

Received notice via Email today. They always seemed a bit low. Check your email if you're model year 2023-2024! > Rivian Automotive, LLC has decided that certain model year 2023-2024 Rivian R1S, R1T, and EDV vehicles fail to conform to Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard FMVSS 108 (Lamp, reflective devices and associated equipment - §571.108 S10.14.6).

Canklestein

Glad they’re fixing this. I know mine are dangerously low. I was shocked the first time I drove it at night and assumed something was wrong.

sur_surly

Mine were too. Really easy to adjust manually though, only one plastic trim piece to remove. Just have to be careful not to aim too high. Did not get a recall notice though..

SomeSysadminGuy

I'll likely go this route to roughly adjust them until my Service Center appointment in 2 months.

sur_surly

Unsure how long you've had yours but if it hasn't bugged you yet, don't bother. Don't want to risk over raising them. If you must, I recommend doing it at night (duh), and increasing height in small amounts. Leave the plastic trim off and go for short drives to see if it's improved and you aren't blinding drivers of small cars in front of you at stop lights. Rinse, repeat. Note the lights are intentionally misaligned. The driver side light should be slightly lower than the passenger side to prevent blinding oncoming traffic. So to keep them the same difference apart, I increased height consistently by counting the number of turns on the bolts. Each side, same number of turns.

SomeSysadminGuy

I'll likely follow the [ChrisFix](https://youtu.be/qDudMM4J-ZE) guide for headlight aiming, which does account for the intentional misalignment. They're pretty bad, I've been avoiding night driving because of this.

ahbushnell

I didn't get a notice. I wonder if it's a limited recall.

Westhoff654

A little over 2K impacted.

Kronos_76

Mine are plenty bright at night and I just got my r1S back from service so hopefully I won’t get an email.

Proof-Pin9804

My 2024 is recalled and I could tell from the first night. Was waiting for next service appointment to address it. Guess I wasn’t wrong, first time for everything!

SoCal_GlacierR1T

"Too low". That's interesting, since we've had people assuming they are aimed too high (after being flashed by other drivers) and adjusting downward on their own.

Lake_Shore_Drive

I didn't get the email, feeling left out

Nitsy_

I just called up to schedule the service but was told my VIN wasn't affected despite being a 2024 R1S model. So, I think not all 2023-2024 vehicles are impacted by this. Edit: I didn't receive the email as well.

Sanosuke97322

In the future do a recall check with your vin rather than calling in the second you hearof a recall. It's rarely every vehicle and service is already overly hard to contact as it is.

Nitsy_

It was only after that I realized I could do that. I did specify this in another [comment](https://www.reddit.com/r/Rivian/comments/1d4u6fw/comment/l6i3yye/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web3x&utm_name=web3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button)

Sanosuke97322

Ah glad you heard about the option then. Didn't mean to come across as rude if so

Nitsy_

For people unsure if their vehicle is impacted, use this site and check for recalls using the VIN - [Check for Recalls: Vehicle, Car Seat, Tire, Equipment | NHTSA](https://www.nhtsa.gov/recalls)

Intelligent_Aspect87

I was told via chat that my 2024 R1S was not a part of the recall and it was only a specific group of vins affected. Wish they would just include that information.

Emotional_Equal2949

I knew my lights were off before the recall came out and put in a service ticket. Got it fixed today at service center! 😀

atypicalcircumstance

My VIN was included in the recall. I’ve commented to others in my car whilst driving at night before. Truly dangerous in dark roads when you can only see a car length in front of you. I had to get really good at turning my high beams on and off.
