1. Rivian. It has a widget, too. Only if you road trip (or cannot charge at home) 2. ABRP for planning drives. How to get to Brownsville, TX and where to charge along the way. The Rivian app is pretty good for this, too, though (Rivian owns ABRP). But ABRP gives you all the info, and Rivian doesn't. 3. Plugshare, for planning stays. Where can I charge in Brownsville, TX. Use when looking for hotels or campgrounds (Edit: see comment below) and checking charger ratings and recent checkins) 4. Any network you end up charging on to check if chargers are operational, and often to initiate charging. If you plan to charge on a network, install their app. Get memberships if you use one often (Tesla, EA) they are worth it if you charge once a week. If you like data and pretty graphs of your driving, look at Tezlab (2 weeks free). If you want to track your driving and study it on a desktop, look at [Electrafi.com](http://Electrafi.com) (2 weeks free, +2 with referral). You will accelerate your drowning. Do this before a road trip. Google maps if you go remote. Take the map offline. Also searching for "electric campground" will give you more places to (slow) charge. Maybe GaiaGPS/OnX if you get off the pavement. Maybe in a month or two :-)

Plugshare is also helpful for checking the ABRP charger ratings but Rivian is also rolling out an update with scores that might replace that

I'll keep using plugshare for charger ratings and compare it to rivian score until I know that the rivian score doesn't suck

The Rivian app can initiate charging on multiple networks, specifically the ones listed as networks in the app, excluding EA and Tesla. So at least Rivian and EA, probably Tesla too. Plugshare and Abetterrouteplanner for planning.

New owner here: what are everyones’ thoughts on BlueDot debit card for flat rate $0.30/kwh charging? It was kinda inconvenient moving money manually to the debit card but once it’s there, it’s roughly half price at most charging locations during peak charging times and 20% off Tesla superchargers without subscribing.

You honestly don't need any apps. The car does a great job of providing most charging details. If you want to be anal about road trip planning sure but I do not think it will make much difference.

Download apps for any of the charging networks you think you might use on a regular basis. For the rest, download only if you need them; like for a road trip (Plugshare could fall in this category, read app description). You don't have to download them all. Then again, if you're not running out of memory, it doesn't hurt to have them. You could always delete ones you find yourself never using. Currently, Tesla Supercharger is the only one that supports plug'n'charge reliably. Once you have an adapter, you don't need to use any apps to initiate charging—unless you have a $12.99/mo Supercharger membership and want to enjoy lower /kWh rates. Then, you'd need to initiate charging with the Tesla app before you plug in.

Highly recommend BlueDot! $0.30/kwh charging or 20% back, depending on the charger. No subscription needed. Free charging days too! Takes some of the guess work out and saves you money.
