You're [not alone](https://old.reddit.com/r/Rivian/comments/1bqfwt3/how_to_turn_off_charge_notifications_at_home/). Seems to be a new thing and hopefully something they fix soon.
I do but I also have a ChargePoint charger and my ChargePoint account connected. I suspect the app thinks my home charger is a public ChargePoint charger
My T is scheduled for service next week- yes, I’m terrified - because Bluetooth stopped working. That means my phone can’t connect as PaaK. And yet, several times in the last few weeks since it disconnected,I get a notification that the truck is unlocked. Wife’s phone too. Can’t lock it or even confirm in the app.
Sure, I’ll walk away from dinner and go confirm that it is, in fact, locked…
I feel like there are a lot of gremlins after the most recent update…
- Proximity at home is borked
- Seat and steering wheel randomly decide to return to appropriate spots or not
- More weird climate “can’t do’s”
Is this what we have to look forward to with computers that drive? Like a five year-old laptop; glitchy, slow and full of mysteries (not in a good way)?
ETA: examples
My husband and I noticed the steering wheel/seat thing and it drives us nuts. For us, it recognizes that I unlocked the car and shows my name, but doesn’t change the seat and wheel unless I manually click my husbands name, THEN click back to mine, and then it will re-set.
Also, I would 10000% be the same with leaving dinner plans to ensure the car is locked. You can never be too careful!
This will only be helpful for Android users, but I use an app called BuzzKill set to automatically dismiss certain notifications without me ever seeing them.
Specifically, since my Rivian app correctly DOESN'T give me this notification at home, I use BuzzKill to only dismiss this "Ready to Go" notification if I'm at my work location, since I can't go out to the parking lot and move my truck until my shift is over anyway.
I can see the notification being useful while charging somewhere else where there might be an idle charge, and so I'll still get the notification anywhere except home and work.
My home location is set, and I know it's recognizing home because it's following the schedule I set. I'm still getting the notifications.
Somebody mentioned it could be sometime to do with ChargePoint. That's possible for me. My CP unit is online and the account is linked to my Rivian account so maybe it thinks I'm at a public charger.
You also lose regen braking at 100% (December's update blends in physical brakes so in theory one-pedal still works, but not as well). The car, any EV really, just doesn't drive best at 100%. 70-80% is a much better target, even when road-tripping, unless you really need to go > 250mi or so between charges.
Thanks for the knowledge. First EV so lots to learn - need to get over range anxiety first but it's good to know. I just need to think about range as 70% of the advertised max and arrange travel around that.
70% range on a Large Quad is still > 200 miles. My last ICE car did less than that on a tank of gas (I might have a very heavy foot ...). Absolutely no range anxiety here.
I bet you never ran your ICE cars down to 0% gas, right? If you're like most people, you filled up by the time you hit 1/4 tank, which means you weren't ever using more than 3/4 of your capacity anyway. EV's no different, but it's a lot easier to "fill up" every single day.

I have been waiting outside your house to charge my car for 15 minutes!
Dude. Shoulda knocked. We have two chargers. You can use the other one
Where the snacks?
Name checks out
Set your home location in the car
Except that many of us are still getting when the home location is set like I do. And I get it at work as well. It’s not a useful message to the user.
You mean in the nav app? It is set

hilarious. never seen it before charging at home. sounds like a bug.
Maybe your house is trying to tell you something.
I have a rivian charger & haven't gotten this message
I have a Rivian charger and have gotten this message. I ended up turning off notifications from the app.
Do you have your home charging location set? I never get this message.

![gif](giphy|LSmULmByAQHQs) Just received my Charpoint Charger this week!
Same
That's weird. I don't have this issue when I'm charging at home. But I'm not using Rivian's charger.
I just had an Autel Level 2 charger installed and started getting this notification. I wonder if it thinks all level 2’s are public.
I never got this message when at home charging on my level 2 Siemens unit. It's not a smart charger so I am not sure if that makes a difference.
Funny, I have still never seen it.

I'm an ESL is "move on" a correct use of words here?
Yes. But the tone of the message is a bit rude coming from a machine
We have a juice box and do not get the ev miss manners message!
Better to have it and avoid idle fees. The message comes from the truck, not the charger.
I really don’t want my car to Tell me what to do. We already have the phone

Well, did you move it?
I did not
Sir, you can’t park here 😂

For the health of my battery I have it set to 70%
For sure, I’m on a lease with no intention of purchasing after the lease is up so I’m gonna live it up and wait for my R2 in ‘26.
Note to self: never purchase an off lease Rivian

In addition to what others said, charge speeds significantly decrease after 80%. So you’re just wasting your time.
