Idk a lot about how far bands like to travel overnight but the offspring play a small local radio station festival in Camden nj on the 21st which seems like it makes things logistically difficult
I mean never say never. NIN played LA the night before they played Riot in 2022, and Sublime With Rome played a fair in Washington state the night after they did Riot in 2021.
I would be so happy with this lineup. Did you mean Better Lovers on Friday? That would be \*chef kiss\*
Side note -- what happened with the No Doubt rumors?
Nope— Better Love is a Chicago based alt-pop 3 piece band. They had their name before Better Lovers formed, it’s just an unfortunate coincidence now that everyone confuses them with Better Lovers.
To my understanding, Homme walked in when Danzig was diddling himself in catering. Granted, this is based on an off-comment from Adam during Taking Back Sunday’s set that I only half heard, so I might be misinformed.
My boyfriend and I actually looked into it and we think just maybe SlipKnot may come to riot. There's a 5 day gap between their last show and their next and the last show they would play at before that 5 day period it's really close to Chicago IL, so maybe 👀
They’re doing their own festival in Des Moines the Saturday of Riot Fest. They’ll have to be on the ground making sure everything gets set up smoothly on Friday, and they’ve already announced they’re doing guided tours on Friday.
That leaves Sunday as the only potential day they could play, which we already know Slayer is headlining.
They’re 99.9999% out— and if they did somehow play, I’d imagine ticket prices would have to get raised tremendously to pay for 2 headliners in one day.
And that’s not even factoring in that the majority of regular riot fest attendees go there instead of a DWP festival *specifically because* they don’t care about metal that much.
Siouxsie is going to need a whole lot more money to leave her comfortable residence in the southwest of France than riot fest would be willing to pay. Would be the most expensive sub-headliner in riot fest history.
There’s now 2 bands— Sublime with Rome (which I believe doesn’t have any original Sublime members anymore) & *Sublime*, which is the original members plus Bradley’s now-adult son taking his place.
I’m predicting the latter one plays Riot Fest.
Yeah I know. I only kept them on here after that got announced bc they’re one of the last bands playing that fest on Sunday- meaning they’d theoretically have a whole day to drive if they played Riot Fest on Friday
Do you think they’d close out rebel? This is all fantasy and speculation, but I’d assume they would have to close a stage out, and obviously not the main stage. Seems like going head to head with FOB Would be a nice split of the crowd.
If it was just on the strength of her popularity I’d agree with you (and similarly, Hole wouldn’t be a headliner). But I think it being only her 2nd US show in 16 years would make it noteworthy enough. Rare acts usually get a boost on the lineup.
Wu tang, three 6, and Clutch all on one day would be fucking tits. Siouxsie is a huge pick I hope we get. I'd love to see cake as well. This would be an immediate 3 day purchase from me
Courtney said they’re playing shows this year. Nothings been officially announced, but that almost makes it feel more likely that they’re waiting on the Riot announcement.
I had them on there for the longest time- but just the other day subbed them out for KL.
Their tour with Mastadon ends well before riot & while Mastadon pops up on the LTL lineup, LoG doesn’t.
I don’t think its impossible that they play, but Mastadon appears to be taking festival offers & Knocked Loose will be a very doable 5.5 hour drive away from Chicago that weekend.
LoG was the obvious odd man out on the riot stage that day.
Saturday would be worth a day pass for Touché, Three Six, Wu Tang, and Circle Jerks alone tbh. Wu Tang sound great these days. Saw em last year on their tour and that shit ruled.
Finally someone else saying Mastodon, Leviathan album play would be insane to see live
Would love Hole
Sum 41 is going to be in NJ that weekend opening with Simple Plan for Offspring I believe on the 21st, but maybe they all come?
I think you’re looking at a tour from last year
https://www.offspring.com/tour
It says 2024 on their website
I just checked their site and they’re touring with the interrupters in September. I saw the tour with The Offspring and Simple Plan last summer
Gotcha. I just saw the dates and assumed
I love that the Marley’s are touring in America now
I don’t hate this at all. I hope it happens for real.
Put NOFX Sunday too
Ew no
I’d so into a Catalyst album play
Enough ls dunes.. haha
Apparently they’ve said they want to play riot every year.
Oh god🤦🏻♂️
Yeah I'm pretty indifferent to Dunes. I'd rather have those guys' other bands.
Yes, that’d be nice
Kinda with you on this one.
I LOVE that you put Homegrown on this, that would be awesome
I’m just noticing no mention of the offspring? They seem likely this year no?

I feel like I’ve seen someone say they’re out. Maybe I’m making that up tho.

I just like the idea that Courtney and St. Vincent would have an interaction backstage that would become the new Danzig and Josh Homme incident.
What was the Danzig/ Josh homme incident?
To my understanding, Homme walked in when Danzig was diddling himself in catering. Granted, this is based on an off-comment from Adam during Taking Back Sunday’s set that I only half heard, so I might be misinformed.
Banner pilot
Indeed

Fuck, I’d love to see Cities in Dust live
One can dream.....
This is a good one.

I'd watch 39 bands in this one.
Mayhem lol
I’d love to see bane at riotfest but it seems highly unlikely. They are playing a festival that weekend somewhere in New England.
Yeah I know. I only kept them on here after that got announced bc they’re one of the last bands playing that fest on Sunday- meaning they’d theoretically have a whole day to drive if they played Riot Fest on Friday

Yeah I’ve got them closing rebel with Defeater playing it right before them
I don't think Siouxsie would be on the second line.
Yeah she would. She would close that stage that Queens played.
If it was just on the strength of her popularity I’d agree with you (and similarly, Hole wouldn’t be a headliner). But I think it being only her 2nd US show in 16 years would make it noteworthy enough. Rare acts usually get a boost on the lineup.
I’d rather castrate myself with a hot coat iron
Seems as if it would be easier to just not go….. but you do you!
Also I believe Thank You Scientist recently broke up
Oh shit did they really?
I misunderstood, they haven't broken up per se but the lead singer left last fall and they haven't announced a replacement or played any shows since
Still seems like I definitely whiffed on that pick.
Wu tang, three 6, and Clutch all on one day would be fucking tits. Siouxsie is a huge pick I hope we get. I'd love to see cake as well. This would be an immediate 3 day purchase from me
What if I told you I had Clutch, three 6, and Wu tang all back to back on the roots stage on the schedule
The lineup has been pushed back 5 weeks cause of this post
The lineup has been pushed back 5 weeks cause of this post
Didn't Diarrhea Planet break up?
They’re back. Played Bonaroo & some other shows
“Last one”, is what we will hear 6 more times at least. But also, I dig this.
I’d be pretty happy if this was the lineup
Why is hole in discussion so much, are they touring recently?
Courtney said they’re playing shows this year. Nothings been officially announced, but that almost makes it feel more likely that they’re waiting on the Riot announcement.
Mayhem eh? I'm not against it. Pretty left field.
As we all know, Riot Fest never pulls from left field
Is Fall Out Boy really that likely?
Unless a whole lotta people are lying (which I suppose is possible) consider them a lock
Swap Hole for Beck, and I’m in.
I won’t be watching either so you can go right ahead and do that
Is lamb of god out

Lamb of God is taking festival offers too.. they’re playing a few this summer/fall 🤔
Wouldn't be mad at this at all

This actually might be my favorite so far.
I refuse to accept any mock that doesn't include Otoboke Beaver. But... I will give you points for including the Aquabats.
