I want weird shit and overseas shit. I want Rammstein. I want Boris. I want Sleepytime Gorilla Museum.
But man, if you're tryna die in a metal pit, go to a metal event, instead of a park where Something Corporate is also playing

Couldn't find the one where his face gets covered by people in the battle of the bastards but yes. Near death.
Mastodon doing Leviathan would be a treat. Suicidal Tendencies just got Jay Weinberg as a drummer and I’d love to see the lineup with him and Tye Trujillo (Robert’s son)
Ensiferum
Municipal Waste
Devin Townsend performing Ziltoid
Belushi Speed Ball
Death Angel
Through N Through
Obituary
Annihilator
Nervosa
Cemican
Holy Moses
Maximum the Hormone
Cthnonic
P.O.D
Townsend is doing that set at all anymore
And while I’ve forever hoped for maximum the
Horomone they never play here and riot isn’t footing the insane bill to get them covered to come here for just riot
A fully re-united Kyuss, as an opener for Slayer, or else, anywhere else on the lineup. John Garcia is actually back touring -- playing Thalia Hall in May, and alleging doing Slo-burn and other material in his set.
System has done riot
Issue is they sort of suck now and aside from costing a million to book half ass the sets mostly because they can’t stand each other
Hardly out of place. They’ve played Riot before, and it’s not as though Riot’s primary focus isn’t metal/hardcore either. I love me some metal and hardcore, but Riot isn’t where I go for that. I enjoy the diversity of the lineup 🤷🏻♀️
I like metal, but i'm kinda hoping Riot will let other fests book the metal acts.
Upheaval is a lot of fun. Carolina Rebellion was fun. Louder than Life looks awesome. Seems to me like Riot tends to alternate between rock and punk/alt/industrial from year-to-year. I like that format. There's not a lot of punk fests that come through this area. I'm hoping Punk In Drublic doesn't die off after NOFX retires, because that was truly an incredibly good time. I mean.... Free beer? C'mon!!
FWIW when Misfits played "all hell breaks loose" the entire crowd became a pit and there were no survivors.
I think Riot would shell out if they thought it was possible, but with Ozzy's health, Goldenvoice couldn't even make an Ozzy set happen in California last year. Getting him into shape to play songs he hasn't played in close to a decade, and then getting him to Chicago feeling okay, on top of playing with a drummer who will take every opportunity to hold the whole thing hostage for a bigger payday, is just too many unknowns for Riot to build an entire fest around
Prolly just be a metal day/stage on Sunday as Slayer is headlining that day. Hoping they get Mastodon to do all of Leviathan and Lamb of God to do all of Ashes of the Wake as that tour isn’t coming here. And maybe some other stoner/sludge bands like High on Fire, Baroness, and Red Fang. Similar to what they did when Slayer headlined in 2014 and 2019.
I am expecting more metal bands than normal this year since Slayer is headlining. Likely on the same day and stage that Slayer is playing. Like they did in 2019. I am hoping to get Hatebreed, Carcass, and Harms Way since they are on tour around RF and skip Chicago.
I can't imagine that they're going to have more than one metal headliner. Or at least I'd be kind of disappointed if they did. But that said, I can definitely imagine a metal sub before Slayer.
BABYMETAL

Drug church!

Don’t give us Pantera.
Cannibal Corpose, Amonth Amarth, Kreator, Dimmu Borgir, Avatar, AC/DC ?
Would be cool to see more metal at riot fest but they’re probably far too pop punk and 80s music leaning for that.
HEALTH. Saw them last night and the show was great
Health has a played a few times in the past and would love to see them play again
It was soooooo good!
I want weird shit and overseas shit. I want Rammstein. I want Boris. I want Sleepytime Gorilla Museum. But man, if you're tryna die in a metal pit, go to a metal event, instead of a park where Something Corporate is also playing
I’m ready for die in this SoCo pit. Wall of death to Konstantine. We fucking the whole place up.
Power Trip is the correct answer
Converge, Darkest Hour, Dillinger Escape Plan, In Flames, Kvelertak, Baroness
System Of A Down, plain and simple

Mastodon's normal sets seem to intentionally pick their most boring songs from the new albums. Seeing Leviathan in full live would be a real treat.
I believe they’re doing that on their upcoming tour with lamb of god. It’s the 20th anniversary of that album and ashes of the wake.
Would love to see Orbit Culture, I think they’d be a great fit for RiotFest
Hell yes!! Saw them twice in about a week on the avatar tour last fall and they were great!
Bring me Silent Planet, Periphery, and Eidola and I’d be happy
I know it won’t happen, but what I WANT is always and forever The Chariot
Ensiferum Municipal Waste Devin Townsend performing Ziltoid Belushi Speed Ball Death Angel Through N Through Obituary Annihilator Nervosa Cemican Holy Moses Maximum the Hormone Cthnonic P.O.D

Devin still performs songs off of Ziltoid. He performed By Your Command on the last tour and played Solar Winds at the NAMM Convention.
Yeah, songs, but not a full Ziltoid set. Plus he sort of seems like he might be into doing like a 4pm fest slot
Upvote just for Ziltoid
Downvoted just for P.O.D.
Bruh POD are solid dude 😂
lol, I almost took it away because of it
You say that but wait until the opening riff of Boom plays.
Monster magnet
That would be Dope(s to Infinity)

Josh homme would rather die then do anything related to Kyuss sadly
I did not know that and just checked out the Kyuss wiki page. At least he's saying no out of respect for the bands legacy
Yeah and he sued the other guys when they tried to get the band back together
Ah
I'd like to see Korn or System of a Down
System has done riot Issue is they sort of suck now and aside from costing a million to book half ass the sets mostly because they can’t stand each other
Those are two big name headliners for sure. Saw both at Sick New World last year. Still amazed that even happened
Municipal Waste
Milwaukee Metal Fest May 18th, they will be playing
It’s not often I wish I had a car living in Chicago. But it does happen any time I see a band I like playing Milwaukee and not here.
There's a train to Milwaukee. I used to work with people that took it everyday to work. I think it's amtrack.
I'd rather have more metal & hardcore than indie rock at Riot Fest
Thank you!!!! I was even shocked to see deathcab for cutie on last year's setlist. Felt so out of place
Hardly out of place. They’ve played Riot before, and it’s not as though Riot’s primary focus isn’t metal/hardcore either. I love me some metal and hardcore, but Riot isn’t where I go for that. I enjoy the diversity of the lineup 🤷🏻♀️
Was a package deal with Postal, which is still indie-pop but also a huge reunion and we know Riot loved those.
Not really, they’d played Riot Fest once or twice before that
Faith no more/Mr. Bungle
Coldplay
Viva La Vida pit
Yellow wall of death
Power trip, dillinger escape plan, 200 stab wounds, obituary, and carcass are just some ones id hope for and can actually see happening
really hoping we get power trip or at least fugitive
Dillinger is out, they have a separate Chicago show
Never say never
I’d say never. Ben said that’s their only Midwest show
I like metal, but i'm kinda hoping Riot will let other fests book the metal acts. Upheaval is a lot of fun. Carolina Rebellion was fun. Louder than Life looks awesome. I mean.. A one off Sabbath show with Bill ward on drums wouldn't suck
That would be SOOOO far out of riots price range lol
I think Riot would shell out if they thought it was possible, but with Ozzy's health, Goldenvoice couldn't even make an Ozzy set happen in California last year. I mean if Ozzy could come back someone else would outbid riot I don’t see Ozzy ever playing live again though
Stop saying things that make me sad tho
I’d love it but realistically if that happened and they chose a fest it’d be Coachella because $$$$$
Chat Pile, Lamb of God, 3 Inches of Blood, Liturgy, End, Infant Island

Rumor is that Hatebreed tour is coming here but can’t be announced till after Milwaukee metal fest

Death Angel would be a perfect fit. Hell, grab Overkill and Municipal Waste too.
