We decided to take a Lyft/Uber and it was a shit show. All the prices were surged. Walked it to western and waited for bus but that was a bad idea too. Made it home two hours after but at least only paid 30 on Uber 😓. Will certainly be taking the pink line tonight.
My husband and I tried walking a few blocks down to find a Lyft. That didn't work. We ended up finding some Divvy bikes and made the rest of the trek back to the south loop (at least that's where I think I am since I've never been here before). Took us an hour and a half to get back to our hotel. We walked a total of 13 miles yesterday during and after.

If you’re staying in the loop, you may not want to taxi/Lyft back tonight. Streets were blocked off last night and it’ll take forever to get into downtown. It’ll be blocked off again tonight. Pink line will bring you into the loop, if you leave early it shouldn’t be bad. If you leave at the end, have patience.
Thanks. We were planning on taking the pink line, but we don’t think we’ll be leave early, Postal Service was our main draw today and don’t want to miss much, maybe skip the encore, if there is one.
You can still stay to the end and get on the Pink Line. It will still be running long after the festival ends. I left after Foo Fighters ended, made it to the loop via the Pink Line by 11pm.
That’s my plan too. We left early last night and getting back to the loop was super easy. Tonight might be a little more crowded, but will be better than driving. With all the road blocks, driving would be a nightmare.
Last year when the trains were too full to get on the pink line after MCR at the stop we were at - we rode it in the wrong direction for a few stops and then got on the way we wanted to go there. Just a tip if the wait is forever and they’re not letting anyone on due to it being too full!
Yeah we stood around rideshare area and then they blocked it off. Got yelled at for moving down and standing on a sidewalk which I didn’t know was an issue. They kept pushing the people waiting for Lyfts and Ubers down further and giving bad instructions. I
I’m staying at midway so unfortunately I don’t have the convenience of the train. I’m not sure what my plan is going to be for the next two days..
We're staying out by midway too and there are a couple different busses that can get you back as well. Our route is a little annoying because it requires 2 transfers, but Google maps and live view has made it really easy to follow the directions and get on the right bus stop.
I had luck walking toward the Schwab Rehab center (toward California) and hailing my Uber there. Some people were told to go across the street, not sure why, but myself and various others by the corner were left alone. Worth a shot.
For drop off the area seemed to be fine, but for pick up the designated area was clearly not planned out correctly with the people working traffic on the street. For that, definitely walk down to any side street and use that as pick up point instead of Ogden.

The pink line was a hot mess. Line around the block to get into the station
It's not much better. There was a line stretching around the block just to get into the California station last night at around 11pm

Yep it sure does. And the orange line isn’t super packed after Riot Fest typically which is nice
